  1. Anyone? Other than that I will just try local.
  2. Hi I own a Sportline 2l diesel. Great car, I got a good deal on one at port (inc heated front screen, heated front and rear seats, electric boot as extras) therefore didnt have chance to order the factory fit fold out tow bar. I do a lot of cycling and currently carry bikes (normally 1 or 2 sometimes 4), via a roof rack. A few issues, I need a stool to reach, not 100% secure (another story 😔), noisy, gets mud and grit every where if the bikes are messy etc. So decided its now time for a rear tow bar mounted carrier. So need a tow bar fitting, I want it quickly removable or foldable, I want everything done properly (wiring) and made compatible with the car (sensors, camera, electric boot etc). Any tips on what type I need to be asking for, what brands, and who is best to fit, dealer, know company, local garage etc. Thanks
  3. I went from considering a Yeti, to an Octavia... all down to boot space, price, availability and ultimately need - I thought I needed a soft roader, but in reality I didn't, glad I went for the Octy, that is not to say the Yeti may not be better for you!!!
  4. Hi I have a VRS Estate so it has the bars going the length of the car, I need the bits that go across, I need to carry a bike rack I already have. Looking for cheap but reliable and quick release.
  5. Tinted rear windows and high ride height (coming from a Ford Cmax).
  6. LOL - My Mrs refused to visit Skoda to look at their cars, I said fair enough my choice, ordered the Blackline, she wasn't happy. On the day of collection I went on my own, got home in the new car and she said "I don't like it", its not like the old car, not got this, not got that moan moan moan. Not long after I broke my leg, so she had to drive the family around in the VRS. Now guess what car she always wants to drive (clue: its not her Fiat 500)?
  7. Boot hooks Ticket holder Storage - special mention to the door storage that can take full bottles (of wine!), passenger under seat storage, jumbo box storage Tardis like space for a car of its "size", i.e. equivalent to a Golf but bigger boot than a Mondeo Sound system quality The price - practicality - quality - fun ratio all spot on Specific to my VRS: Leather seats Amunsden+ The pull of the car when in 3rd
  8. I don't get all the Ford complaints, good solid well built cars, that handle better than most of the competition! I have had a Cmax Mondeo Focus and Fiesta (all Zetecs). Very reliable and cheap to maintain. I moved to an Oct VRS as it combined practicality (medium sized car, boot size comparable to larger cars), fun and more kit for £££ (stingy kits levels is Fords problem imo). I would definitely buy a Skoda or a Ford again.
  9. I was going to mention the boot trick - i.e. holding it down pops the boot open. Is there a switch in the car to release the boot? Also what does the switch do on the drivers side, mid-pillar, by the seat belt do, does it disable the alarm? The things I have discovered, no doubt most other people know this but they surprised me: The lid of the jumbo box slides back and forth so you can adjust it as an arm rest, its can also be raised slightly and lock to adjust height. I use it all the time now. Behind the seats (maybe just on the estate?) there is a compartment the length of the seats that can be opened, it would fit an umbrella or kids games consoles.
  10. Silver was never an option, only black, white and blue. I presume they found some silver paint or had some silver vrs left over. So there won't be many.
  11. The Diesel is obviously cheaper to fuel, but its also cheaper on Tax and Insurance - not that it make a massive difference. Its also worth noting the whilst its not quicker of the mark than petrol, I would argue diesel performance is better suited for driving here in the UK, i.e. plenty of pull in the mid range, thus quicker to overtake etc. I reckon there is more fun to be had in petrol, but at a cost.
  12. Had mine since October, not done too many miles as I had been cycling into work, then broke my leg, but been driving again in the last few weeks. Perhaps done about 2000 miles so far. Love it to bits, my best car ever. I have the estate its supremely practical medium size in terms of handling and parking etc, but plenty of room for a family of four and a missive boot which can easily swallow a bike! I have been getting about 45/50mpg (according to the display), it rarely needs filling up, its got all the poke I could wish for with out it costing me in terms of fuel, tax, insurance, I have had the reverse park sensor issue, definitely a problem in the very wet weather we have had, a wipe kitchen towel solves it. Also noticed the drivers seat belt knocking on the trim. Easily picked up scratches on the rear bumper paint work, its seem soft, added a plastic protector. The build quality seems good, loads of useful storage inside, inc under passenger seat, behind rear seats, door compartments that hold full size bottles. Amunsden+ is a joy to use, simple, but works - I would specify it on any car if it was a choice. The biggest issue is my Mrs had taken a liking to using it!!! Which is odd, as when I told her I was getting a Skoda she almost killed me but she really likes the drive and feel of it. Its been so good I would recommend and consider another Skoda.
  13. Whilst I agree the sound system is great it seems to lack bass at higher volumes.Interested to hear what settings you have gone for, and source material. All my music is 320kbps mp3 converted from flac. Not tried a CD.
  14. I have saved a small fortune on fuel, simply by breaking my leg, had free lifts from the wife and colleagues since before Christmas... But it gets annoying after a while so think twice before committing yourself.
  15. I used them for doors sills and arrived in good time.
  16. Hi Personally I didn't need or care for a cd changer. I am sure there will be small print stating "specs subject to change". Either agree something with skoda and the dealer or live with it and enjoy the world of mp3s.
  17. I would just take it, the new Octavia is only around the corner, with a VRS to follow, enjoy this one as long as possible, it may mean you can trade it in a month earlier when it comes to change.
  18. No the blutooth is not activated (but it exists) and a Mic needs to be added. Do a search in this forum as some spent time to explain exactly what is needed and how to do it. The OP was by Welsh_Kai_Boy
  19. I am glad you like it now, as I was gutted when you expressed disappointment. I have not driven mine for 6 weeks due to breaking my leg, but looking forward to getting back in it. The irony is my Mrs was upset when I said I was getting a skoda, even more so when she some how convinced herself I was getting a superb and not a "grandad car" Octavia!!! Should have seen her face when I turned up at home the day I bought it. She said it's not got this, it's a bit that, I don't like it etc Over the last three weeks she has driven it to take me and the family places (but using her fiat 500 for work), today she announced her love for my Blackline and insisted she takes it to work! Women confuse the hell out of me. Any way I said no, as it ain't being left on a rail way station car park all day I love it, best car I have ever had.
