Also to answer a few question on this above link - Our SMF is weighted slightly less than standard to give it a more performance edge (the less weight the more quickly you can move through the revs, the more weight the more quiet the vibrations will be but it is slower to respond.) We suggest customer stay off the stage 2 kelvar clutches of ours as the results can be hit and miss dependent on the map you are running. The torquey nature of the maps these cars are getting pushes the torque increase through the roof and the dual friction clutch kit we offer provides much better results than the stage 2. Thanks Andy

Errors can be made when installing 99% of aftermarket performance parts. Thats why we recommend you use a trained mechanic who should know how to correctly install a slave cylinder and other associated parts. Our clutches are no different to install than a stock clutch which we would also recommend you use a trained professional to install wherever possible.

Hi, having fit these for so long our selves we really don't have authorized fitters as its a relatively new scenario that we no longer fit ourselves. We sell to GNJ and have heard good things. Errors can easily be made on fitting these if the mechanic is not to sure of the installation and issues generally arise around the slave cylinder. A average price should be between £200 and £250, you usually get what you pay for in that sense and if you ask the question on here most people will advise on the their own experiences with the fitter / garage.

No more fitting, however this is still a simple install for any reasonably well trained mechanic.

I don't have a video of it as we don't fit here anymore... we have taken our ramps out to make more room for machines to build performance clutches and flywheels. Im sure someone can supply. Please note the noise will be different in every car based on the age and general maintenance of the vehicle it goes in. I will say what I say to everyone though, which is.... If you are a stickler for comfort and can't bear a increase in noise which comes with all conversions to SMF stick with lower power and the DMF. Andy

Have you tried increasing the revs as you pull away? Try setting off at 1500 rpm this usually removes the judder. If anyone else is interested this comes all pre machined together and I think its a snip at £550 as it is proven to take the power of the SRE race kits and keeps the normal drive feel. The chatter is the same as you would experience on any diesel when removing the 'silencer' affect of the DMF. So with it matching the power and torque capabilities of the competition and been considerably cheaper why would you choose anything else? Thanks Andy

Thanks for the feedback guys thought you would like that one! iiPaul, we have made one that is 3kg under stock but I would only recommend it for serious track day use and those of you who are not bothered about comfort at all as it makes the transmission noises much louder as coskev points out. I think we have the weight right on the stock SMF we supply (as shown in the dyno) as this holds the power and isnt too loud on tick over... IMHO

As you may or may not have seen we are currently offering a new Racing Clutch kit range. When we listed the kit we claimed... This kit can hold 360lb / ft of torque on a standard organic plate which means you can eradicate the unpleasant paddle drive feel daily users detest. This was met with some queries about the validation for these claims as 360 lb/ft on a organic plate is Sachs SRE level but we are no where near their price - and our kit includes the flywheel..... So after having a few fit now we have a customers Dyno graph to prove the torque and HP levels held down by this cracking bit of kit. This has proven to hold down 360lb/ft of torque and 220 BHP. I could also tell you the Dyno operator had never seen a transmission set up on the ARL / ASZ set up hold down this sort of power so smoothly but I reckon he says that to all the boys We still have these on the shelf at £550 so if you want to safely take your car upto the 350lb ft mark and keep the organic drive the solution is cheap and proven. Our figures are also conservative, the covers are the same spec so it should match up.

The power figures are based on Sach's / Helix as all uprated covers add a set figure figure onto stock power capabilities. As ours are engineered in the same way they are as strong as the Helix / Sachs options if that makes sense. We have fitted this to a Skoda VRs which held down I 350lb / ft no problem. I understand they are on the forum somewhere so hopefully they will see this and jump in with their full spec.

Same price as we want people to choose the clutch based on what they need for their car not what is best for their wallet.

Wow so i've just seen, read and digested this mammoth thread today.... Our service is honest, fair and backed up with years of first hand experience and knowledge. I'm not happy that mistakes were made like this by our mechanic but when these errors happen we are always the first to put our hands up and rectify them as this thread shows. I'm not sure how many other garages would do this and just blame the parts supplier but we pride our selves on having honesty and integrity at all times. Also to anyone who hasn't used us and wants to question our personal values jump on the M1 or M62 drive to us, look me, Linda and Mick in the eye and explain your problems with our personal values to our face, we will even make you a cup of tea. We are nice people, the reviews of customers who have actually dealt with us will say the same thing. Its strange how many people are quick to jump on and call us a bunch of cowboys that don't understand clutch.... although we have just developed a solid mass flywheel kit capable of holding the same as lb/ft torque as a Sachs SRE kit. Which means you can safely hold 360lb ft with a organic drive plate allowing for a smooth driving feel. Oh and we can build all this with a workforce that's not even 1% of our competition. We are clearly idiots. Our new product range is documented in a bit more detail here. The kit consists of a heavy duty clutch cover, which comes pre-assembled to the CG Solid Mass flywheel. This kit can hold 360lb / ft of torque on a standard organic plate which means you can eradicate the unpleasant paddle drive feel daily users detest. However for those wanting to have a pretty bullet proof set up you can opt for a paddle drive plate kit which again matches upto its Sach SRE counter part at a fraction of the price.
