  1. Yes that's what they've been offered. I'm just trying to establish whether there are any floating around that would be substantially lower than that.
  2. My folks bought my 2012 Fabia vRS from me 5 years ago... To cut a long story short, it needs a new engine. It had some oil consumption issues over its life, but nothing like some of the horror stories that were frequently coming up on the forum at the time. Basically, if anyone is aware of a mk2 vRS that is being broken up due to bodywork or any non-engine related issues, please let me know as they've been quoted £7k for a reconditioned unit from Skoda.
  3. That would explain my issue then. Bugger. Better get myself a jack then!
  4. Same mate, but the video talks about jacking it up and removing a cover underneath on the golf for the boost sensor, that's why I was hoping that someone here might have had some previous experience on the octy. Hopefully someone can clarify for us before I foul up. It's looking likely to rain the next couple of days so it'll be safe for a while!
  5. So after much reading and contemplation I plumped for the DTUK plug in box accompanied by a VWR600. Went for the box as I like the idea of being able to turn it off so my better half doesn't stuff it in a hedge. The VWR600 is on, but then it started raining so the box will have to wait unfortunately (and until I find a jack). I'll let you all know how I get with them. Thanks for all your views.
  6. Anyone fitted a DTUK box to an octavia vrs? The instructional video for the golf r suggests jacking the car for the boost sensor, just seeing if anyone managed to fit it without lifting the car? It's only an issue as I don't have a jack, which would be pretty crucial
  7. I only want a bit more noise from the thing, the false engine note pumped into the cabin doesn't really do it for me. I realise that the standard intake system is good for up to 300bhp, it's just that little bit of extra noise I'd want from an aftermarket system. Not sure £350 is value for money in that department :(
  8. Induction kits seem to be hugely expensive for this model, am I missing something?
  9. Yeah I would have searched the forum as I imagine it's a topic that's been pretty heavily discussed, but for some reason the search function isn't working for me. Also, should have added that it's the petrol engine
  10. So, my annoying little brother has gone and got himself a Focus RS. This has made me a bit envious. It's led me to want to tweak my 2016 vrs, but I've not really delved into the world of tuning the octavia so I've absolutely no idea where to start. Can anyone advise on companies, prices, and particular upgrades I should be looking for to dispose of my green eyed monster? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
  11. Total cost on mine is coming in at circa 25k, not sure where you're getting one for 18.5k unless you're using a military discount. There is very little wiggle room on the price of them it seems.
  12. Thanks everyone for your advice. I must admit that the 230 is starting to turn my head a bit, price wise it seems like good value so may bump up to that.
  13. 220 petrol I don't do enough miles to even consider diesels
  14. The colour maxidot is part of the black design plus package, as are the 19 inch wheels so I don't think I can get a spare wheel with those, can I? I looked at the folding mirrors but I couldn't really justify £175 for them! Does the heated windscreen make a big difference?
