  1. These LEDs work perfectly instead of the standard drl bulbs. No canbus errors. They dim as parking lights as required. The light is very white. Expensive initially. Hopefully they will justify them selves by longevity as against the likes of the Mtec bulbs which lasted no time for me several times. http://www.hids-direct.co.uk/r580-w21-5w-canbus-27-smd-5050-led-bulbs-pair-white/?utm_campaign=map&utm_medium=email&utm_source=yotpo&yotpo_token=7ff2530f970ac68fcccd2ff2a3f5d99624fe1dfb

    LEDs

I fitted these a week ago and working perfectly. They also dim as required for parking lights. No canbus errors. Very white light. Expensive initially, but hopefully longevity will justify versus the Mtec bulbs which failed frustratingly often for me, even though I only have 11,000 km on the car after 3 years.
  4. Just an update. After service and a follow up visit the click was back each time when the car was returned. The cure above worked each time for me, and it doesn't return while I am the driver. It seems a different style of clutch depress causes a relapse. Garage confirms Skoda are aware of the issue, but no fix is identified and therefor garage do not have ok to investigate. It has been noted in my garage record in case it becomes a persistent problem to me, or if the fix becomes available out of warranty.
  5. How is the sensor unit removed from the windscreen please.
  6. Thank you very much. Just got this problem, seems like metal to metal click just as clutch pedal was completely released. Comes across to me as if a rubber buffer was missing. I reported it to garage who couldn't determine what the cause was from operating the pedal. Car is due service on Monday next. Chief mechanic says panel above pedal will have to come off for closer examination. Just tried your suggestion and bingo seems to be sorted, for now anyway. I will report back if it fails again. If it doesn't before car goes in I will get them to hold off, but just to keep a record for future warranty service if necessary. Don't like panels being removed.....always afraid of creaks or vibrations afterwards. What I found was that pressing the pedal with my hand and keeping pressure towards the centre of the car allowed me to feel a nice rubbery parking of the pedal, just as I would expect. Doing that and wiggling it did not resolve the click though. On the contrary though pushing and wiggling my foot on the left side of the pedal and keeping pressure towards the drivers door side seems to have worked. Thanks again.
  7. By the way my email was dated 25th February 2014.
  8. Join the club. I was dissatisfied with the service life of the Mtec drl's as well. I wrote to Hids Direct as pasted below. Result an apologetic email in response offering a replacement bulb if I sent an image to show the faulty bulb smashed. I replied with appreciation of the offer and advised I would comply. Low and behold the second bulb failed and I requested to know by email if that also would be replaced and sent images of both side by side smashed. Never heard another word despite a few reminders. I finally expressed my incredulity, that it was a shoddy way to do business and that there would be no more between us. "Hi, I am disappointed in the longevity of the mtec bulbs below in my Skoda Citigo, dispatched 7th September, 2013. One has failed about a week ago. This is from a second order for these bulbs. The first order was #7649, dispatched 14th January, 2013, both of which failed shortly before the most recent order was dispatched. Believe me when I say, my wife and me both being retired, and me being the sole driver, the bulbs have seen very little use. Basically drive a mile to pick up my wife from town possibly once each week day. Half an hour trip approx. max. Very little other driving is done. The car was purchased October 2012 (17 months ago) and there is only 3,750 miles on it, to give some idea. Perhaps you will consider if this is reasonable service and let me know what you think. Regards, Liam."
  9. Also Mick the inside of the owners manual wallet has a Castrol Edge 'label' as another hint that this is the favoured engine oil. My Skoda dealer use it as standard, so I guess that is Skoda's requirement. Being of the old school I got them to change oil at 1,000 kms. I asked about changing the gearbox oil at the same time, but they said not necessary.
  10. Original gearbox very smooth here also. No issues.
  11. Citigo 60bhps is a great car on the motorway. Like has been said I also need to keep an eye on the speed limit, as the tendency is to creep up because it is so at ease engine wise and steady. I find very little need for steering corrections, unlike my previous Nissan Tiida 1.6, which was put off course by cross winds and buffeted by HGV's. The Citigo is so planted and seems like a much bigger car. I also prefer it to my earlier Renault Megane. I keep saying to my wife how much I love it.
  12. +1. When the mtechs drls came out first they were single element only. I would strongly agree this is the most likely explanation.
  13. I am pretty certain that it was in the handbook for my last car, a Nissan Tiida, that it recommended not to park with the wheels turned. It might have said full lock. Didn't state a reason.
  14. I initiated a thread here http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/251426-steering-pulling/ some time ago on the topic with some links that might be helpful. I have not had any issues at all with my own car and enthuse about it to anybody who will listen Good luck and I am sure it will be resolved for you.
  15. Never heard anything like that from my near year old Elegance. Mine is just like any other clutch I have ever used, completely silent, or like yours up to the point of the click.
  16. Thanks Taylor93 for keeping us informed. Very useful information.
  17. Make sure your insurers know you use the car for business.

That's what I reckoned, but I was thinking that if it is really secret maybe I missed it I'm not aware of an official pouch, but I bought a large zipped soft leather sort of purse, but with no pockets in it at a bag and wallet stall, which is a perfect fit. i'm still patting myself on the back for finding one so suitable.

Where is the hidden draw please?

By the way my OS is 10.6.8. Everything works, including phone and all displays are as before, including home screen. Funny thing was that I didn't twig initially that the device would have to be rematched to the car, and I went to the Garmin website address given in Garmin Fresh when the error FS201 "device not supported by Fresh"appeared. There I was asked to confirm the device and low and behold Skoda was one of the options, so I clicked on that, and 'contact' for support, using the 'other' Countries link, English only in Germany. I explained briefly the problem with the Navigon Fresh (CG2009 error) and went on to say that your (Garmin) Fresh had allowed me to proceed to the point (error) error above. At which point he said that I was actually speaking to Navigon support. I must have been switched automatically when I confirmed Skoda as the make. He made nothing of the fact I was using the Garmin Fresh and advised connecting the Move & Fun to the car and then it should be recognised through Fresh......and so it was.....connection via Garmin Fresh behaving normally. Doesn't it take the biscuit that Navigon support leave us Mac guys in the lurch, and don't offer the Garmin Fresh as an alternative to the Navigon Fresh. Being charitable...maybe they don't know it is an option, but there they were issuing Beta version, which didn't work, and telling us that they were working on a software update, which never happened. Initial update of device software took just over 2hrs on a 6.70Mbps download speed, inclusive of installation. I forgot to note the finish time for the two maps, but it was soon enough, but the server download speed was slower than for the update.

Hey guybles.....you da man!!! The Garmin Fresh works! Updated my Move and Fun device quite a few versions to the latest 7.10.5 and maps from 2011 to Q2/2013. The Move and Fun will have to be connected to the car, as for a first time connection when the device software is updated, and then the server will recognise it. The 'manual' voucher I got from Navigon back in November 2012 was recognised and there was no problem downloading the required maps Rep. Ireland and UK. When I opted for all available maps I was told that space was short 76.04MB, but I can have the others when/if needed, up to 2015. Maybe the Freshmaps voucher will work now?? Got to go out now, but will post more info later or answer any questions I can. Thanks again for posting.
  23. Ha... know where you are coming from, but fortunately not when driving the car
  24. Gosh no I'm not equipped to do any of this, nor do I have the inclination. Warranty questions might be raised too perhaps if there was a future issue. No I just had in mind that if there were metal particles from the running in period, that draining the gearbox oil might eliminate that possibility. Don't know if that is a reasonable consideration or not.
