  1. I have the same, black seats/ceiling was an option, a very very well hidden option. In my opinion they lift the car quite a bit. And I love the "darkness" the black ceiling brings into the car - no weird reflections on the windows etc. If i remember correctly the option was called something weird like "little black package" or something similar.
  2. Running B12 on mine also, 2012 estate VRs. Really happy with it!
  3. Just to add: I'm quite tall and if using a isofix base for a maxi-cosi seat there is no way to fit it behind my seat. Octavias have massive boots, hence the rear seat cushion length is somewhat capped. I compared with my sisters Audi A4 and while the boot is smaller, the rear seat cushion is actually longer and the babyseat fits fine. Its a few cm difference but that's all what matters. Next car will be Superb, or something with four rings on the nose.
  4. Had a garage do it, together with a WALK and B12 kit. So no idea, took them less that half a day tho (+realignment), so nothing very hard I suppose.
  5. Got Eibach frnt and rears fitted, super happy.
  6. I see. I was not aware that the Scout didn't come with the LED drls, same as the RS version. I thought they were similar. Then it makes sense. But like I said, the interwebs claims Fabia units have both functions. Perhaps it is possible to code it like that for the Scour/pre-facelift. Tho, it would require some funky switch magic as well.
  7. Yeah, I know. But that is a "hack" right? I guess we are talking about a pre-facelift Octavia RS that didn't come with a DRL option? Or was that actually offered by the factory to replace fogs with DRL?
  8. Not sure I understand what you are getting at. But the units from Fabia serve both functions (fog + drl) on the Fabia. So why not on the Scout? Is it a coding issue? The units themselves are built to do both.. as far as uncle internet is concerned
  9. But aren't the Fabia LEDs also used as foglights on the Fabia? So in theory you are swapping a fog light with a fog light. I guess the DRL function just dimms them down a bit?
  10. they have both versions. The one without the slot is cheaper, but a pain in the you-know-what to live with.
  11. Try sending them to your email, then iPhone asks which size of images to attach. Choose one of the smaller sizes, send it and then save them back from the email again to the phone. Yes, it sucks, but thats the (as far as I know) easiest way.
  12. Running Nightbreakers in high-beams now for 3 years, now problems and light is considerably "whiter". No more "yellow patches" within the xenon light. Not sure they are more powerful or add to visibility range-wise, but the picture I see looks much better for me. No more annoying yellow
  13. Any value in checking if its a previous company car with a software top speed limiter on?
  14. I had one of the Powerflex ones on my old Seat Leon 1.8T. It was horrible. Until someone pointed out that there are actually notes in the workshop manual about how much force you should apply to the bolts while reattaching the dog mount. So I took it off, reinstalled woth proper torque wrench set to whatever it was supposed to be and problem solved. Drove like a dream.
  15. Might not be any fault at all with the car. Have you considered the weather conditions? If you don't use the brakes for a long time, and it's wet outside moisture will accumulate on the discs and you get that fade. That is the reason why some agressive sporty Audis (RS6 for example) have a system that keeps the brakes always at optimal temperature and dry. So in case you really need them, they are there at 100% of their power.. next time try it by applying just a fraction of pressure on the brake pedal (so there is contact between the pad and disc) wait a few seconds (give it time to heat up and do its magic) and then push harder - the fade should be gone and brakes bite like normal. I experience this on a long haul (no brake usage for 30 minutes or longer) and when its time to get off the highway, I already know that the first attempt to brake is rather.. interesting
  16. Alcantara, as it is totally synthetic, is actually really easy to clean. I have the dark version of VRS interior and keeping that in check is a breeze. Having said that, most of the "heavy duty" interiors we do are made from real car industry leather, do not let people use either furniture or faux leather in your car (on the parts you sit on at least, seat back are fine). It will not hold that long. Alcantara is afraid of any type of oil and crease, so if you carry that into the car, you are better off with leather.
  17. Exaclty what I got when I ordered my front and rear badges. Personally I would not trust anything coming from an unofficial channel when it comes to airbags. I know that on Audi A4 the airbag and cover were the same unit and impossible to separate with "household tools".
  18. Thank you Al! All clear now There is a lot of different/controversial info scattered around the interwebs, its good that someone with actual hands-on experience explains things.
  19. Alright, so digging in to this deeper something jumped out directly - my own inability to read Caster vs camber. The way I see it is that Whiteline kit provides 0.5 degree camber adjustment, while Powerflex doesn't, at least not without the (optional) PFF85-501G . But both change the caster: 1 degree with Powerflex and 0.5 degree with Whiteline. Correct me please if I'm yet again mistaken.
  20. Is it really the same? This sentence puts me off getting the Powerflex one: "This polyurethane bush fits into the rear position of the front arm and provides anti-lift properties and 1° of caster offset. It is designed to complement PFF85-501G that fits into the front position of the same arm to provide +/- 0.5° degrees of camber adjustment." So powerflex 1 degree vs Whiteline 0.5 degree out of the box?
  21. Guys, if you get noise from the bars, try moving them slightly backwards or forwards. Even a few cm helps sometimes. I managed to get mine totally quiet, and I have the Skoda originals. I took a few tries, but was well worth it for a 4000km roadtrip
  22. "Kopacek Import sro" is the company name for superskoda, hence KI-R as in Kopacek Import oRiginal.. If you buy something from them all the invoices carry those details. Just double-checked. Newer invoices carry the company name "Kopacek Tuning s.r.o."
  23. I think its Superskoda who has made it. So the claim on their website at least. But yes, its ABS plastic, so prone to "fade" in sunlight.
  24. Mine came with a note saying that at least a clear coat is needed to keep their warranty.. Also from superskoda, but for the fl model.
