I had a number of skoda Inc a vrs and last one a superb 190 DSG. I missed the poke of the vrs though in reality probably not that much in it. I bet the 280 adds the but I thought was missing. In the end I got bored off mine and swapped for a year old Jag xf s 300bhp. Bags of space and rapid.

Thank you Richard. I will pop in now and again. Briskoda has always been good to me and a source of help and information. Hopefully it won't be too long until I can get myself a nice Kodiaq.

Well I've been a proud Skoda owner for 6 years, firstly having got the lovely Octavia VRS black line with DSG. I absolutely loved that car, 170 bhp and it felt every bit 170 bhp with its fantastic torque and tight handling. I decided to replace with the new MK3 Skoda Superb as we were planning for an addition which would make 3 offspring but crucially two in car seat / booster meaning the Octavia was not suitable due to limited car width. Superb would be well...superb with its extremely roomy and best in class cabin. I placed my order for a 190bhp Se L Exec with a host of add-ons including 19 inch rims, sun roof, DSG, multifunction steering wheel, retractable tow bar and interior mood lighting including other bits. It came in at about 34k or around that region. Still a lot of kit for the money. It arrived in Jan 16. At first I really liked it. In April 16 we found out we were pregnant. We were made up this would make 3 kids and we had everything sorted. In June 16 we had our first scan....twins! We were made up but our plans changed. We needed 6 seats now. So the Superb was no longer the family car but my car for work. As I was in a PCP deal I was stuck with it. We changed our lovely mini cooper s (our 2nd car) for an old 2003 Volvo xc90. This has become the family runabout. Over the last year and a bit where the Skoda has really only ferried me and the odd person around I've become a bit disillusioned with it. It's had a number of gremlins; rear window popped out of its runner, mood lighting in one door has failed, multifunction steering wheel scroll button has failed. But more importantly I think I've missed the directness of my old vrs. I don't want to float about in my superb anymore. I've paid off a small termination excess and send it back. I'm now the proud owner of a 16 plate Jaguar XF S V6 3.0D. it's got all the bells and whistles of my Skoda and more, but importantly I'm enjoying driving it. It feels like it has everything I've missed from the vrs plus the luxury of the superb and a bit more. It's also has 15k less miles than the superb I've sent back and is costing me 45 quid a month more in PCP payments. The cost increase also includes an additional 3000 miles each year so like for like would be less than 45 quid increase. Of course I know it will have higher running and servicing costs and I've factored that into my decision. Don't get me wrong, the Superb is a fantastic motor and represents excellent value for money. But I don't think I will ever buy new again though. The Jaguar a year and half old (registered June 16) was more than 5k cheaper than my Superb cost brand new yet when it was new it retailed at 60k. I appreciate a year and half old Superb will be fantastic value at about 20k. And I guess that's my point I got sick and tired paying a monthly premium for a car I bought brand new. I'm really interested in the kodiaq as a family replacement for our old xc90. I will likely return as a Skoda owner with one of these. Though it will be used approved and not new. So it's goodbye from me for now though I'm fairly sure I will be back within 2 years. All the best for 2018! Matt

VCDS options on Superb III
Booble replied to BurialConstant's topic in Skoda Superb Mk III (2015 - 2023)
Hi folks, not been on here for a couple of months. I'm intrigued by the Audi throttle setting as the soft response on my 190 dsg is disappointing to say the least. Any clever vcds chaps available to help enable this setting in the Merseyside/ north west area? -
I have the sel exec in petrol blue with the beige leather. Have to say its a lovely combination. Strange decision to remove this as a no cost option

Ride Quality of 19 inch Alloys - Advice needed
Booble replied to DaveR666's topic in Skoda Superb Mk III (2015 - 2023)
I've come from an Octavia vrs on 18s to the superb on 19s. The ride is smoother in the superb, though you do get greater road feedback. But I love the car on the 19s and ride is more than acceptable for me -
I'm not sure of the answers, but you can download the user manual from the Skoda site

I also have an I'll fitting glove box lid. Not flush when closed. I also have Bluetooth that drops frequently.

In my dsg 190 I'm getting between 45 to 51 mpg on my daily commute. Done 500 miles so far. Already a touch better than my old 170 TDI vrs

Have you tried a car insurance comparison web site? I've always found LV to be most reasonable

I have my smart ultra 6 phone paired with the Columbus in my sel exec. Occasionally but typically at least once or twice during a 10 minute phone call I temporarily lose call connection and the radio cuts in yet the call is not disconnected on the phone; it is still active. After a split second it will reconnect on the Columbus. It also results in the Columbus thinking its a new call and shows 2 calls active on screen to the same person. Feels like a bug to me and this never happened with my Amundsen Bluetooth in my 2012 Octavia. Anyone else experienced these issues? Any ideas?

Got my car. What a motor! Such a pleasure to drive. I've come from a 62 plate Octavia vrs TDI (owned from new). Massive upgrade.
