  1. Would a drive back to Wales help with the caliper. Is this still for sale.
  2. The clunking sound from my car after months got to me and I changed the ARB's £3 odd each from TPS, nice, tight and awkward to get into the arches, I had to purchase the 19mm ones. Or turn the radio up.
  3. Take wheel off and grab the anti roll bar give it a shake if a lot of movement change them both, bought ome parts from TPS and mine were the 19mm diameter on a 06 plate vrs. Job done, eventually no knocking bliss, you'll have to lift the wheel assembly abit to get on and I couldn't remove one of the bolts as driveshaft is blocking one of them, enjoy.
  4. What's the current mileage and when is the timing belt /water pump due a change?
  5. Cost me about £6 for ARB bushes pair 19mm for my vrs. Going to change them soon.
  6. Mine went into a garage as my turbo died and I spoke to the mechanic and he said he'll have a look, he said he removed the scuttle and gave it a good blast with a jet wash. To this day i haven't had any re-occurrence of it leaking. Hope this helps FabiaFrodo.
  7. Mines only on 175k, 06 plate, from brim fill on the fuel tank are you getting 450-500 miles per tank fill or a lot less. If I use shell I can get about 514 miles a month use tesco and its late 450-470 's.
  8. Followed the same route east to west, clocked up 1,710 miles, me the Mrs and our dog, we used a motor home, needed it especially with the dog well worth it. Awesome views throughout the journey. North Coast 500 didn't disappoint. Filled the van with over 240litres of diesel. Whoever does this will not be let down. Rained whilst driving but dry when stopped/parked up.
  9. I pulled over to let them go in front as I was on my holidays and you see the awesome scenery.
  10. Giving this a go on the weekend.
  11. Recently my abs/asr lights were on permanently, lack of brakes, garage checked it out and the rear o/s abs sensor wasn't powering up. So new abs sensor and it's sorted. 2006 vrs, can you get it checked by vag.com or vcds.
  12. Got MOT Friday so hopefully Colgate will clear them up.
  13. Stunning views and awesome weather, I've got family east coast at Inverbervie so we do an annual drive up from South Wales, 540 miles and 10 plus hours later with 3 pit stops. Great views Scotland has.
  14. Have you got a Haynes manual, the buzzer is located on the near side pillar, you've got to pull the plastic trim out of the way, the old one is riveted in, I just replaced with the new one and left old one in situ.
  15. Is there a TPS place close to you. They supply all vw, skoda, Audi and seat parts to the dealers.
  16. Sure you're Octavia was behind my lorry on Friday, in the afternoon on the A465 then shot off down onto the motorway.

  17. Would I not have oil in the coolant and Mayo on the cap, recent oil change and nothing unto the ordinary. It's been doing this on and off for 6 years.
  18. Same symptoms on my vrs 06 plate, every morning the warning light beeps and stays on for duration of journey (30 mins) when leaving from work I release the pressure and get no warning beeps. Is the thermostat sticking or is it the sensor in the bottle. I'll smell the cap tomorrow, I've got no oil in the expansion tank or Mayo on the oil cap. It has got 168k mind.
  19. Upper limit exceeded, o/s front drivers side airbag igniter. Anyone had this before and how did you get it fixed. Any help appreciated.
  20. My wife's got the elegance combi 05 and I've put these discs and pads on this time from a motor factor JCP 1083 pads and VAG136 discs.
  21. Probably use a little more fuel on cc vs foot driving as said car will just chug along and well there is an incline it will put more fuel in, used the wife's car up to Scotland last year cc most of the way but wiffy doesn't like it, (never driven a car with cc so I was like a kid in a sweet shop). Get to 70mph and switch it on and read the road ahead.
  22. Braver than me I was afraid to remove my wife's caliper, the fear of snapping that small bit of brake pipe, I decided to clean some muck away and look at how to remove the shock absorber. Fabia mk1 are so easy to remove parts. It's had new pads and a new caliper recently but the brake disc covers are lets say very rusty.
