  1. Errr.. i actually can't remember.. its back with black wheels got it from a trader. 2 owner car, really clean. worn syncro was my other option (hoping not).. will probably just live with it if it is.. untill i find a cheap box..
  2. Hi all Got a 6 speed vrs.. We have had the car almost a year, always had trouble downshifting to 4th from 5th or 6th.. going up the gears its perfect, to down shift we have to nudge it towards 3rd then it will go straight into 4th. I did a new SMF and clutch couplke weeks back, and fitted new gearbox oil.. but i did notice the plastic slider on the selector on top of the box seem very loose.. is this normal or as is suspect actually what is causing the issue.. (cars got 161k on it) is this an easy part to get/change. Or is there a more likely/common fault? thanks
  3. Taken it for a drive.. drives really nice.. no rattling or juddering that many report, not even noisy around town.. onky really notice on idle with clutch out
  4. I cant actually rememebrr which one as it was about 5 months ago i ordered it.. only just got rou d to fitting it.. was 300 i think we paid
  5. She wont moan.. she loves the car!! She is a car nut too so she understands.. Now its done she wants it mapped
  6. Ahh okay... well its the wifes car... we shall see how it goes.. seems smf was the most reckmmeneded way to go so mjst be a load of people on here running them
  7. And i havent tested it yet, just atarted running it. I thoughnit was broken to start with or done something wrong... But looking up it seems the idle clutch out noise is completely normal.... it goes away with clutch in... So do i need to worry about gearbox early failure. Or do you lot run smf for ages and been fine.. Cheers
  8. Wow!!!! Thats a big bill.. not sure what engine you have.. but changed the wifes egr and that was 150 for me to do it.. If its new type with egr valve on exhaust rather than on inlet its mixed with the cooler.. parts around 250 on ebay etc.. but. I would never expect 1100!!! Thats crazy money This is why imdo my own work,.. never to a dealer.. My nan got quote 500 for a rear caliper, and 60 per headlight to buff them that took me less than a minuite
  9. Off to go look that up... how do uou check it? Thanks
  10. Or could it be an engine mount? #hopefullywishing.
  11. Pretty much what ibwas thinking.. Just thought id ask on here
  12. Only way I can describe it is like when I had solid engine mounts on my mr2
  13. My wife a3 is a dsg so I cant compare.. My vrs has a full skoda service history with 153k on it.. Now when I pull away it sort of vibrates but doesn't.. Could just be a diesel feel or do all or yours pull away completely smoothly or just feel a little rough around edges when pulling away? Wanna ask before I get remap The only other thing to add is on idle it occasionally has a single knock then few seconds later same again.. Any thoughts would be great.. Thanks
  14. Do you still have this? If so ill twke it Thanks
  15. Hi all I want to move the front nujber plate to the side with a srick on one.. Can i just remove the current front bracket or is there holes there, is there a grill behind it? I have seen a few have done it.. any help would be great Thanks Pete
  16. Thanka .. you do feel slightly more protected eith the cage.. its not she doesnt like bikes it just in her head they they are dangerous..nshe is 9 now and still likes bikes but not allowed one.. Agree its what you do with it and watch full of everyone else.. hence why the kit car goes on track a lot...
  17. Hi ya.. I had a honda hornet 600 loved it.. done sprokets, springs, hugger, repainted white.. Then my lil girl came out said.. dont go iut daddy its dangerous.. when a 4 year old asks you not to have a bike with big brown eyes i never went on it again and sold it.. I have always had a hankering for a speed triple.. think they are lovely.. So i moved away from bikes and went racing in a mr2.. But now back sort of.. I have a hayabusa...... in a kit car weighing in at 480kg.. it may be a bit heavier than a bike but with it grip and geared down a bit to questionable speeds it happily sit on the tail of my friends cbr 1000 It entertwining grtting questions from 600s asking what the hells in thst because i left them Its certainly entertaining.. anyone who has been in it is just.. well its strange because its a bike.. but not.. its a great cross over of the two
  18. No one will remember me.. but couple years back i breezed in and out with an oct vrs Well as usual with me had plenty of cars since.. But i was drawn back after a very bad experience with a 530d.. lots of electrical fwults... Wanted some thing fun quicck enough to enjoy but frugal too Did not have much to spend.. Found a hugh mileage with full service history excetionaly clean 2 owner fab vrs Picked it up yesterday.. and i really like it. Traded in the bmw for a swap., Its a lot more fun than i expected it to be and really comfy too.. Its black with recently refurbish black standard alloys.. rest of the car is comletely stock too. Wifey likes it, she has 2 .0tdi 8p a3 mapped.. I also have an mk indy with a hayabusa engine as my road legal race race (run in javelin sprint series) So i am sure ill be asking lots of annoying questions.. first job.. fit bluetooth stereo Then its doo i need a rear arb? And how does fitting it work.. See couple pics attached
