Daytime running lights not working
SytekSam replied to Dbeggs's topic in Skoda Rapid & Spaceback (2012 > )
If your 2014 car is the same as my 2016 one then the DRL and main beam are two different filaments in the same H15 bulb. Perhaps there's a loose wire in the connection block. It's not a great piece of engineering. -
DSG...feels a little rough
SytekSam replied to RapidGer's topic in Skoda Rapid & Spaceback (2012 > )
I have the 125PS 1.4 with 7-speed DSG. I know what you mean - that downshift is noticeable, though in my case I don't find it especially unpleasant or disconcerting. Please do let us know what they have to say about it on 22nd. -

Main beam/DRL not working after bulb swap
SytekSam replied to Northy91's topic in Skoda Rapid & Spaceback (2012 > )
What did you use? How are the high=beams? The ones I tried were so poor on high-beam as to be dangerous. -
Main beam/DRL not working after bulb swap
SytekSam replied to Northy91's topic in Skoda Rapid & Spaceback (2012 > )
Those H15s and the arrangement of the sockets are a nightmare. Swapping the bulbs is murder. I broke the connector off my Rapid. Bloody stupid thing. Shamefacedly returned to the dealer with a self-broken, 2-week-old Rapid, which they kindly fixed FoC. -
All fitted under warranty. All bulbs shiny again (though no NSR fog light, of course).

If you want something a bit lower, @Copey is your man!

Not sure exactly. 25-30mm maybe? Not too radical, but a vast improvement in appearance. There are pics of it around the place for you to check out.

I had mine lowered on OEM lowering springs before delivery. I like them; it's a decent compromise.

Quite likely the only such Rapid in the UK... -

Yikes! Air suspension? -
So the bulb holder's faulty and will be replaced on Tuesday under warranty. The MFD was complaining of the NSR fog lamp not working. It shouldn't be working! There should be only a OSR fog lamp (though I'll bet it's only a bit in a CU somewhere - the NSR bulb is a twin filament jobbie). In fact, the NSF fog lamp had become unplugged, of which the MFD wotted not... Confusion all round.

The Briskoda drive recorder video footage thread part 2
SytekSam replied to TeflonTom's topic in Off Topic Chat
Indeed so, but at this junction, as with many others in greater Manchester, the exceedingly worn out road markings explicitly set up passenger-side-to-passenger-side passing. You, I and the highway code may disagree, but this is generally the situation on the ground in this region. -

An excitingly cheeky move by a Golf driver. -

This cyclist seems to have a very poor sense of self-preservation. Completely ignored a segregated bus/taxi/cycle lane to mix it up with three lanes of live, regular traffic. And the black Vito taxi just got aggressive. Learner driving. -
Snapped wires are not exactly unknown on Škodas!

Yep. Still under warranty. No sign of water ingress. It's booked in to its home dealer next Thursday. Thanks for responding, Chris.

On my 2016 Rapid Hatch the nearside rear light cluster seems to have developed some issues. The two W5W tail light bulbs and the fog lamp filament (only) of the dual-filament bulb have stopped working. The bulbs are not at fault and neither has any fuse blown. Anyone experienced similar and have a solution? TIA.

Amazon has just replaced my BlackVue DR750LW kit, at about 14 months old. The touch screen develops a recognised fault where the soft touchscreen buttons don't line up and it's impossible to recalibrate. Very pleased with Amazon: I was expecting an RMA-type repair. The new unit is excellent.

what seat will fit in Rapid? please help thanks
SytekSam replied to wesleyuk's topic in Skoda Rapid & Spaceback (2012 > )
I have the sport seats in my Rapid. They're extremely comfy - and they're in a driving school car, where that really rather matters. -
LPG, on the other hand, is going up! It's now fully half the price of petrol, ffs.

My dealer fitted OEM lowering springs to my Rapid before delivery to me. Caveat: mines the saloon, not the Spaceback.
