    Goodbye Furby

    Volvo: Boxy, but good.
  4. Hi, Well I have bid farewell to my Furby and purchased a volvo. I have had all the jokes already on irc, but if you would like to commit them here for posterity, please do so I love the car so it's all water off a duck's back Still got the One Click (any offers?)
  5. Hi, I've recently purchased an ipod - I'm doing more tube/train journeys than car atm and I've been thinking, wouldn't it be great to have this attached to the car - all that music, at the touch of a button... I've found something which looks promising, but I'm not certain if it will work: icelink It replaces a CD Autochanger and says it will work with a beta/gamma VW stereo but I don't know if this is at all like the Skoda Symphony at the back. Anyone have one of these or something similar? Group buy anyone? Faye
  6. Well, I know it's been around for a while, kind of a big old town... but Tom Tom 3 doesn't know Chelmsford. It knows there are some roads in the CM1 1 postcode but it couldn't tell you what town they are in... It does know about Chelmsford station though. I thought it was just because Chafford Hundred was new that they'd called "Mayflower Road" "Lower Road" But it's missing one of the oldest settlements in Britain! Anyone else found any places have gone missing with TomTom 3?
  7. Due to several things happening, I won't be able to make it. Q has already got first dibs on the four wheel alignment spot but my rolling road spot is up for grabs to the next person on the reserves list. I'm really frustrated I won't be able to be there as I wanted to see how the one-click was performing but I hope this will be such a success that there will be another in the near future. I hope that everyone has a great day out!
  8. I don't think the Ordnance Survey will have called Mayflower Road "Lower Road" or put it in RM20 when it should be RM16. I put EX39 in it and it didn't bring up the postcodes list... I think I'll wait for the proof-read version. OK if you're getting it for free, but not worth ?50. :thumbdwn:
  9. It doesn't have the road I live on when it was named nearly 3 years ago. Doesn't really bode well that the latest tomtom *still* doesn't have it. It may not sound important, but it won't plan until it gets to a road on the map.
  10. Can anyone who's installed this already tell me if it has Grays (Essex), Rawlyn Close (RM16) in it? As a postscript, I got the email yesterday, but won't be upgrading (it will cost me) unless it has fixed some of the map issues.
  11. Chalk up another MC2 supporter. Get an old fabreze squirty bottle to put it in (rinse well first), squirt on wheels, massage the stubborn bits with a soft natural bristle brush (optional) then when you've done all four go over with your pressure washer. you'll be amazed - I was.
  12. I've found Shell have started doing Extra in the South-east and so BP are getting no more cash from me! BP are going to have to stop charging the premium for their equivalent now.
  13. Did you know she's an Essex girl?
  14. Livestock? CO2 free? Not really. Stop them breathing and see how far they go! The exhaust gasses are a nightmare too!

  17. It's also spelt Shih Tzu - used to have 2 of them. One was black/white/grey the other was tan/white. Lovely temperaments, great with children but both are now ex Shih Tzus.
  18. Vauxhall's new Corsa 1.2 Bling. (yes those are spinner alloys)
  19. As Rooboy has said, it's in the can cooler next to the wheel. I was told to open it, and then squeeze the sides while pulling it down further, it then flops right the way down and then you see the purple OBD port behind. /me goes to look at your site.
  20. Standard placement for the small intercooler in the Octy/Fabia is near the passenger side front wheel arch (IIRC) A Front Mounted Intercooler sits below the radiator where it can obviously get more airflow over it and therefore cool the gas inside more. An Intercooler is like a radiator for gases rather than liquid. Spraying a fine mist over the intercooler has the same effect as spraying a spritz on your face on a warm day, as the water evaporates it further cools the air inside the intercooler. Lagging the pipes keeps the temperature within from being affected by the hot engine outside Anything else?
  21. Or... How can you lower the temperature of the air getting into the engine? An improved intercooler is possibly the answer you're looking for?

  23. ...and easily led down the slippery slope I finally succumbed to the urge to tune, phoned AmD, spoke to craig, got a great deal and picked up a one click today! I took it easy coming out of Bicester, but as soon as the road opened up, so did the throttle and she can really fly now. If anyone is hesitating or not sure it will be much of a different driving experience, go for it. It changes the whole character of the car for the better. Power delivery is smoother and more immediate and that big grin is back with a vengeance. The question now is where does the slippery slope go now?
  24. to be honest, I only ever had the problem once when reversing after a pressure wash. Even the squeak from the rear going over a speed hump seems to have gone (I hope that stays gone)
