  1. Took delivery of ours on Dec 27th. 1.5tsi DSG SE-L 5 seat Black metallic Full leather Pretty sure that was it. Very pleased with it despite the wait, it's a very nice upgrade after 3x Yeti 1.2tsi SE's in all areas! Only just fits on our small 'drive' but plenty of space for two children and car seats/pram etc. May get driven to Spain next year and should be perfectly capable of swallowing everything recquired!
  2. If they could pinch the S1 engine and running gear and make an estate version it would be a real niche but it's never going to happen.
  3. It's your car mate do what you want! I don't know what the exhaust system is like on your car but getting rid of a silencer will make it a lot louder, you won't get proper bangs without a de-cat which is not technically illegal afaik but will not pass an mot!
  4. I was looking for some tuning threads on some other forums the other week to no avail. I can't remember where it was but I found some guys thread about supercharger mods, he wanted to change the pulley like the Cooper S boys do. Turns out the eaton made charger is a roots type and all the internals would need changing or something along those lines and didn't really go anywhere a bit like this post
  5. Nice car mate! I like the white on white!
  6. Do these things not just suck in more hot air from the engine bay? I've only ever had them on n/a cars before and apart from the noise they were a bit pants tbh. I've never had a boosted car before so pardon my ignorance
  7. Awesome looking car mate, I love the bonnet and I want your wheels! Do you mind disclosing how much they were? I like the idea of a custom fit/width!
  8. The cut out solution is a bit extreme but switchable exhausts are the ideal. Finding a more enthusiast friendly mot centre could be easier!
  9. It's nothing exciting! http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?752175-The-Sensible-182-Replacement-Fabia-VRS-Estate
  10. Thanks for the pics Ally! That looks 100% better than stock ride height! I've pinched one pic -.hope you don't mind, I'm going to post it on Cliosport to counter all the 4x4/arch gap comments I am getting
  11. Nice build thread Ally, definitely a few things I shall be looking into! Have you got any side-on shots of the car with the H&R springs fitted? I have only seen them on a hatchback (which I think sit a tad lower?).
  12. Thanks mate, I'm trying to resist the urge to lower just yet but it does need it! The A414 is where I think I picked up the stone chip! F@cking quarry and it's bloody trucks, I use it on my route to work. I'm normally over at WGC twice a week at 1RM (gym) so I'll keep my eyes peeled!
  13. I've only had her for 4 days and already have a big stone chip and micro dent on the bonnet. At least I got the chance to giver her a good polish & wax yesterday!
  14. VRS estate Date of registration: July '14 Colour: Metal grey metallic Options: Bluetooth, front armrest, shadow chrome Gigaro alloys
  15. Ok it's just getting used now, I'm sure it will loosen up with more miles! I need to look into the tyre pressure thing and adjusting them. They seem to grip ok just not much feedback of what they are doing other than that!
  16. I picked 'her' up today, I really like the colour in the flesh, nice and dark in the shade and not to 'stand out' in the sunlight. Quite a stealthy hue. She goes well too although needs running in obviously, I had to be careful on the way home as after coming from a noisy and uncomfortable Clio as I was all too easily approaching three figures - on clear bits of private runway of course. I drove her home in manual using paddles and a bit of engine braking when slowing for roundabouts and tight corners like I would in the Clio although with much less revs. I varied my speed on the motorway and had a few 4,5,6 & 7th wide open throttle stints but kept it well below 5k. How long is this recommended for or shall I just use as normal once up to temp? Even with the restricted revs she still pulls well from low down. The dealer left me half a tank almost but not sure what fuel so I will be topping up with Vmax in the morning. The car has bluetooth and armrest as mentioned before and sport contact 2's fitted. She could do with some lowering but not sure if I am going to yet. It does seem a bit basic inside without c/control or nav but those things are luxuries I didn't want to pay for plus the seats are much comfier than I remember from a previous test drive in '12. Only got a couple of rubbish phone pics. I will get more when she gets her first wash! No life shine treatment or nice big AG goody bag but I have some bits and bobs that I can give her a decent coat of wax with - although I am no detailer! I did have some free time this afternoon to get two coats of poorboys wheel sealant stuff on after a quick clean before they become caked in brake dust. Really nice to have another new car that everything works in! Very happy with it!
  17. I took it out on sat and couldn't get it to repeat the 'creak', it did have 5 people in it though. I've been out in it this morning too and all seems fine. My father in law had been driving it on weds and he is the slowest driver I have ever met so not sure if this had anything to do with it or not. Also my wife used it on friday and a 'traction control' warning light came up on the dash with a beep but disappeared after a few minutes driving she said. Odd!
  18. I'm sure there was a youtube video showing the 0-60 times quoted by Skoda were a bit modest? I would not expect the engine and box to be such a good combination if I had never driven one but it goes well for what it is Imo.
  19. The 1.2tsi with dsg is perfectly adequate performance wise. We are on our 2nd now (1st was pre FL). It will do 0-60 well under 10secs although is understandably slower acelerating after those kind of speeds. It will easily spin it's front wheels pulling out of a turning if you are not light of right foot - even more so in the wet. It easily does high 30's mpg too if driven normally. The engine has a timing chain afaik.
  20. I took our Yeti 1.2tsi out yesterday and it seems to have developed a slight creak from underneath the car when moving off under a light throttle. It is a facelift car with just over 2.5k on the clock. The box has always been a bit tighter feeling than our previous pre facelift Yeti of the same spec. When it was new there was sometimes a slight resistance going into R follow by a clunk when R engaged but this seems to be happening less often now I am aware of it. From my intial reaction I would say it feels like a loose engine or gearbox mount? Has anyone else had issues with anything similar? I will take it back to the dealers if it persists but they are a fair whack away and I won't have time next week at least.
  21. Going back to op's first post petrol brands can make a big difference to performance. My Clio feels wheezy at high rpm on BP ultimate but on Shell v power it revs much more freely. Evo mag did a test before with cars on rr before and after refuelling and the bigger the engine cc the bigger the difference was even between similar octane rated fuels.
  22. Aftermarket exhaust? Shouldn't be too loud so long as it's only a cat back system? You can always take it off and sell it on after if you get fed up or sell the car.
  23. There is a meteor Grey monte' around the corner from me usually and it looks pretty smart with black roof and black wheels. It looks better on smaller cars like the Fabia as opposed to the same colour on an Octavia imo!
  24. I thought I'd suggest a 235i as the op was considering a new Mustang which I would expect to cost similar money with the ecoboost engine or lot more with a V8!I'm sure DCT equipped V8 M3 with extended warranty can be had much cheaper than the new Mustang will be and I would be surprised if it wasn't a much better car in all aspects! I know you can't compare new to used and it's all horses for courses etc etc!
