  1. Only used them the once in thick fog and they were fine until I reached town and could switch them off. Otherwise the cornering function is nice to have out here in deepest, darkest, Fenland
  2. Is there anyone here with a relative called John....or David....or Andrew....anyone???
  3. Get yourself a test drive. I've just changed my lease car from a BMW 118d to a Greenline Estate and was initially very sceptical about the 1.6 diesel engine. Had a test drive back in September and was very impressed with performance. First gear pull away is a bit slower, so I wait for a little bigger gap in the traffic than I used to, but the smoother gear change makes up for this, shifting easily into second then pulling away. On the A1 it cruises along in a nice and relaxed manner, but still has plenty of power for me to join from a short slip road. So whilst on the face of it a 1.6 diesel sounds...just wrong...in reality it does the job and saves me money Other cars I could have chosen included 2.0 diesel Passatts or Mondeos, with lesser specs, but the monthly repayments, and tax, were more than I wanted to pay.
  4. The test drive car I had back in September was rosso and it was much nicer than I thought it would be.
  5. If the free colours had been white or black I would have gone for the black....that way I could have moonlighted as an undertaker driving a hearse
  6. Quite. The pull away in first is the only thing that is really that noticeable to me, and it's not a big deal. The gearbox is better on the Superb and I'm much smoother with my gear changes, which makes for a relaxed driving experience. The space is great! We go camping for family holidays using a Soul Pad tent http://soulpad.co.uk/products/soulpad-5000-lite and we'll be able to get all of our kit into the boot rather than with the BMW having kit in the boot, back seats with the kids, front seat with my wife, and in a roof box too. We're looking forward to summer now we've got the Superb!
  7. I had the passenger window open this morning as I reversed off the driveway and some water poured in from the roof. So this evening the car was very steamy and took an age to clear. Lesson learned, so I'll keep the windows closed in future
  8. Same things I was after, along with a spacious boot, so I've just collected an estate. My previous lease car was a BMW 118d. The thing I've noticed most is the slower pull away in first gear. Moving into second it pulls quite happily and I've got no concerns when it comes to performance.
  9. Cheers for that, I'll just send the car back for a respray and to recalculate my lease ... Not! Pacific blue is for winners
  10. My new lease car arrived on Monday. It's a slightly brighter blue than I was expecting, but perfectly presentable and rather understated, which I quite like. Won't show the Fenland mud as badly as the white paint option so I'm looking forward to a good 4 years of happy motoring...cheers
  11. My lease car is due for delivery on Monday, so here's hoping for a great start to 2013!
