  1. Dear Techies, I have a skoda fabia kompis 2002 , 1.4 60HK and now its time for yearly inspection test. The car has been giving low milage , 10km/1 liter max. I was in the workshop and they did a data test and found the three (3) error codes - P0171, P0441, P0116. the check engine light was on and off frequently. The workshop told me to change Front Lambda sensor, Tempareture sensor exhaust system, AKF ventil/AKF Valve. The workshop gave me 1200 USD charge for that including service. So, I thought to do it by myself partial works. After that I went to a small workshop and change the small joint pipe in the exhaust pipe which add two exhaust pipes. After that I did a OBDII error code erase with my Vgate VS450 scan tool and the codes are not coming back for 3 weeks and 200 km run. After the exhaust pipe fix the check engine light never come back for 2 months. But when I put the OBDII with ignition ON, its visible in the dahsboard. What does that mean ? This is my first question. Second question, shall I change the parts recommended by workshop directly or do you have any advise ? I have checked internet and find the below solution. It does not say to change the parts as the workshop saying. Please advise. 16555/P0171/000369 Contents 1 16555/P0171/000369 - Fuel Trim; Bank 1: System Too Lean 1.1 Possible Causes 1.2 Possible Solutions 1.3 Special Notes 16555/P0171/000369 - Fuel Trim; Bank 1: System Too Lean Possible Causes Mass Air Flow Sensor (G70) defective Intake System Leak(s) Possible Solutions Check Mass Air Flow Sensor (G70) Check Fuel Pressure Regulation Check Fuel Pump Check Injectors Check Intake System for Leaks Check Exhaust System for Leaks Check Secondary Air System for Leaks Check Vacuum Pipes for Leaks Special Notes 16825/P0441/001089 Contents 1 16825/P0441/001089 - EVAP Emission Control Sys: Incorrect Flow 1.1 Possible Symptoms 1.2 Possible Causes 1.3 Possible Solutions 1.4 Special Notes 16825/P0441/001089 - EVAP Emission Control Sys: Incorrect Flow Possible Symptoms Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) active Possible Causes Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Purge Regulator Valve (N80) faulty/jammed Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Purge Solenoid Valve (N115) faulty/jammed Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Sealing faulty Pipes between Tank Breathing and Throttle Body leaky/blocked Possible Solutions Check Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Purge Regulator Valve (N80) Perform Output Test Check Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Purge Solenoid Valve (N115) Check Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Perform Basic Setting Check Pipes between Tank Breathing and Throttle Body Special Notes When found in the NAR 1.8T Audi A4 1.8T check TSB 24-08-78 or 2010268/3 or Pass-Thru equivalent TSB When found in the NAR 1.8T VW Passat 1.8T check TSB 01-09-09 or 2005554 or Pass-Thru equivalent TSB Note: The Passat 26E5 or "R5" recall includes the same software update Make sure the quick release lines for the N80 valve and vacuum line to LDP are not crossed. This can also make the engine hard to start after filling up the fuel tank.
