The Audi was the most thirsty car I have ever owned but had the 4wd which was good to know with newborns in the house! Can't wait to see the MPG on the VRS on a motorway run : ) The downside of the black is that it shows the dirt really badly already, so I plan to do some serious waxing next week. What remap did you do? I have been speaking to Shark about a remap including one for the DSG gearbox, but they are blooming expensive!

sure did : ) I love the race blue but you had this already so went for black... I forgot to put the lights on the other evening after a long tired day with the kids, and found that taxi drivers were pulling over thinking I was a policeman! The Skoda dealer said that CID and the Paramedics have ordered several VRS's recently so there are more out there in E17... What a car! Yours look the business too : )

have all the blacklists got the black facia trim instead of the usual silver on the dash? I was very nicely surprised when mine arrived to see it really is black all over! there have been no interior pics yet so wondered if it was just mine

After a kick up the a*** my dealer has triumphantly announced that my car arrives tomorrow and they will rush to get it ready for Saturday afternoon. I am now experiencing that 'day before christmas eve' feeling from childhood : ) Hope to post some good pics on Sunday if possible. :sun:

Wow - black estate looks amazing! I plan to paint the chrome grill black and fit privacy glass so it may well just live in the shadows from then on... Regarding running in, my dealer said you do not have to run in a diesel, which sounded like nonsense to me. It is true that you never really redline a diesel as you are risking a massive drop off in power by pushing it to the edge, but you still need to get all the bits in the engine bedded in nicely. I have had an E36 until now, and the 2 litre engine still felt like it was bedding in at 80,000 miles (always improving year on year). Good general advice I have received for diesels is to keep below 3000rpm for the first 1000 miles or so, then after this make sure you push it regularly to 4000 ; ) Pushing it regularly means the injectors self-clean, and the pistons free themselves up, meaning better fuel economy. The worst thing you can do is always drive it slowly at low rpm throughout its life (something I doubt any blackline owner would be capable of!). Do Skoda have an official stance on running in their diesel units? (or any other part of the VAG group?)

mine arrive in port today (sheerness), and dealer has said early next week, maybe sooner if i am lucky. I don't think they have a clue really, so I think they are being honest here... If I had known I would wait al most 5 weeks I would have gone to Emden myself...

I think a shark remap is on the cards... Just wondered why this forum would allow ads from a company offering something potentially harmful to your car. From what I can gather all these tuning boxes do is alter the amount of fuel being injected in a pretty crude way. The even cheaper ones just seem to fool the car into thinking it is colder than it really is. I looked high and low on this forum for more info but found little info about these cheaper options, so thought I would start a post. There seem to be a lot of people interested in remapping but feeling scared of messing with factory settings. I have been over-clocking computers for years so this approach feels normal to me. Shark it is I think :sun:

I saw an ad appear in the top section of the Briskoda forum ealier today and clicked on it: https://www.tuningkit.de Anyone know anything about this type of upgrade, and its advantages/disadvantages compared with a remap from someone like Shark? The improvements they claim seem pretty similar for only 88 quid? I am assuming that as the ad is on this forum that the moderators approve of the product? Can anyone shed a little light on this subject? Cheers

Anyone know whether the VCDS lite software (available for free download) is capable of accessing the BT checkbox? The Ross-Tech function table says that it can access the 07 function that allows changes in the code modules; is this where you make the changes?
