  1. Thanks, have ordered.. good for the winter.
  2. Interesting, I was concerned about whether the 1.2 l engine could cope as I have been used to bigger engines. Sounds encouraging.
  3. I walked into our local Skoda dealer (my car's PCP was coming to an end) and cheekily asked if a new Yeti could be bought. Was told they had found just one a 1.2 SEL drive in quartz grey DSG. A little negotiation and I think I have good deal (1,500 Skoda contribution, 1500 discount and PEX competitive). Any advice as I wanted something small, roomy and could carry 2 bikes ( tow bar and carrier not supplied). I have never owned a Yeti before. Any advice welcome.
  4. That is interesting. I was going to get some Collinite stuff and also do it myself rather than pay out. I was quoted Diamondbrite for £299 and GAP insurance for £299 or both at the special offer price of £498. However on the ALA site a 3 year GAP cover would be about £110, based on the invoice price (but I haven't read the small print). I would think that the Collinite bits would be similar to the Lifeshine deal (Autoglymm) referred to, giving a total cost of £155, which represents a significant saving.
  5. I asked about the poss arrival, the warranty the bluetooth issue and about checking wheel alignment. He said wheel alignment wasn't part of the PDI and warranty was too detailed to email but covered the normal stuff but not wear and tear. He didn't know about the Bluetooth, having said previously that they would fit a 'Parrot', which would be compatible with my phone He said that he would contact me next when the car arrives in Sheerness. I expected a little more information but perhaps the dealers are also becoming fed up with the delays especially as version 3 is about to be launched!
  6. Likewise, always bought used before. Hoping the next batch have arrived, they must all be just about in the UK now. Trying to privately sell my Astra Twintop has been an interesting, just dealers offering peanuts.
  7. Less of the pensioner inuendo I've ordered a race blue hatch and intend to enjoy it. Did feel a pang of guilt when I told my son tho.
  8. Looks a nice vehicle but as others have said it is not far off a new blackline in Candy White by the time you account for the upgrades. Interestingly I toyed with the idea of the petrol vRS, the dealer offered me a new one for £16 795 but in the end the vRS diesel was the better deal so I never actually got to test drive a petrol vRS.
  9. Test drove an Audi A4, BMW 320D and the Skoda CR VRS. The beamer was super to drive and the dealer very accommodating, I have to say but the car had no folding seat, a smaller boot space, and was more expensive than a new Skoda. The Skoda's steering was exceptional, the car friendly to drive through the rush hour in Ipswich (it does have one and the roads all have roadworks stopping traffic) and it was great fun, when away from the traffic. Couldn't get to a dual carriageway but was assured it would come into its own there. So, pound for pound the Skoda was the better allrounder, so I ordered a new VRS Blackiline, even tho' I should be old enough to know better.
  10. Walkers appear to be offering the Greenline 11 at £14,573, without the added kit, I think, so probably about right, depending how much that would cost. http://www.walkersmotorgroup.co.uk/skoda
