  1. Hey all, Hope you're all well!! I'm thinking of making a comeback to the skoda family, got my eye on an 06/07 octavia vrs :-) I used to have a red mk1 vrs and posted now and again before chopping it in for a family wagon zafira :-( My situation has changed quite a bit so now looking to get another Vrs yay!!! I'm gonna be browsing around here as usual so thought i'd say hi!! Ian :-)
  2. haha thanks guys! I've bought an 04 zafira 2.0 Dti, we wanted a bigger car for days out with the family and I fancied a change. NEW CAR>>>> This is more a thank you as you've provided me with loads of info and advice. Ian
  3. Hi all, Just thought i'd take this opportunity to say thanks for making this great forum what it is and saving me umpteen hours and skinned knuckles whilst modding/fixing my octy Vrs over the past 2 and a half years. But, alas the time had come for a change and the Vrs has gone to make way for another(make and model). So once again, thank you all as this is most probably my last post. Ian aka ianto
  4. I have these in my octavia (well took them out today ready for the next car) and started running them off my pioneer DEH77mp3 which were ok, running them off my JBL 75.4 amp made an awesome improvement over standard, they're not gonna be the loudest but for sound quality they are very good! They fit perfect in the octavia I using the metal adapters and the tweeters fit snuggly in the octavia mountings. I put my std speakers back in today and can't believe how much difference these made. Ian
  5. I have upgraded mine to Pioneer 77MP3 Head unit with JBL75.4 - 4 channel amp,JBL 12" GT3 Sub, Infinity 6010cs Component Front Speakers and the sound is 1000% (not exagerating this) better!! Change the lot if you can!
  6. there is an o-ring inside each of the connectors, the fitting is a push tab type and is integral to the pipe so don't yank it or you'll end up in the same position as me where I had to drop the tank to change the shorter pipe. Diagram of the tank below if it helps
  7. No, you're not too picky! You took it there to be repaired, not redamaged!! If it's not on their report then get them to sort it out!!
  8. Just in case anyone else needs this info. My mate replaced my pipe for me by jacking up the rear of the car, onto axle stands then removed RH fuel strap, loosened the LH strap enough to be able to move the tank towards the left to give clearance to pull out the old pipe with a wire attached so we could then pull the new pipe back up. The tank had to be levered over with a pry bar whilst I pulled the new pipe up.
  9. Thanks for the nudge Ken, I couldn't get a jubilee clip to tighten up, off to the garage to get the pipe changed :(
  10. or do you reckon i could put a jubilee clip on the pipe for now until I can get it to a garage/mates ramp??
  11. Help!!!!! I did my 60k service on my VRS and when changing the fuel filter, I noticed the clip on the pipe to the filter was broken.I bought a pipe from local dealer but it seems very tight to get the pipe out from the side of the tank. Do I have to drop the tank to change this pipe or is there a way I can change it without doing this?? The pipe in question in no.1 in this picture..
  12. i have used mobil 1 ow40 for the past two years, no problems at all Ian
  13. Mine does this sometimes when first started from cold, thought it was the choke/cold start doing its thing?!?!! Idles high then goes bada bada bada bada bada then back up to high idle then smoothes out. Ian
  14. I am getting a guy from newport to do mine after I come back from hols end of June, go on DW or Superior rides and he'll be on there as W3LSH Ian
