  1. Road tax is £0 for the Greenline (though I'm sure the chancellor will find a way to get his money somehow !)
  2. Well, for the things that come as standard on the greenline, my favourite being the cruise control; and the mpg, I would personally go for the greenline. Good luck with your choice, I'm sure you will enjoy which ever one you choose.
  3. Agree with all the above. No visability problems.
  4. Well i'm certainly not going to help you.
  5. Please vote no or the nutters in Plaid Cymru will be wanting to follow suit here in Wales ! Can't think of a worse bunch than them to try and run things. Personally, I truly believe we are all stronger together; after all, devolution is the opposite of evolution, I know which track I'd rather be on.
  6. Love mine. Don't find it too noisy. Engine performs well and certainly doesn't rattle ! Great motorway car with the cruise control invaluable. I drive normally and have not got enough patience to watch the revs etc to maximise economy, but I get mid 60's mpg on a long run and 55 - 60 on a mixed urban / carriageway journey. Not a hot hatch but nippy enough at the lights etc once you know how to drive it. Would recommend.
  7. Bought my Fabia Greenline new in January and have since been trying to get best Bluetooth option for it as did not want to pay the dealers price. Car came with the Amundsen + (RNS315) unit which used to come with Bluetooth inside but not enabled. Many people have just enabled the Bluetooth via VCDS and it worked. However, it is now apparent that the latest Amundsen + units in the Fabia do not have Bluetooth capability unless selected as an option. So I have bought this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300841929998?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 which is an OEM unit and installed it(most difficult part was routing microphone and getting the unit back in place with the extra wiring behind). Did not even need coding afterwards as worked right away ! Only slight hiccup is the seller had labelled the 2 connections for the mic, one for RNS 310 and one for RNS315. The RNS 315 did not work but all worked fine when I attached the mic to the RNS 310 connection Very happy
  8. It was the Nextbase click and go 9 Duo lite. Very nice screens that click on and of the brackets installed on the headrests. Cables go to the brackets only so trailing leads are at a minimum. Has 2 screens and can play from dvd, usb stick or composite input. Comes with nice storage bag so really quick and easy to put in and remove.
  9. Had no luck getting maxidot retro-fitted. Skoda said was impossible. Had the in car dvd system as compensation. It's very nice and the kids are pleased, but still wish i had my maxidot :-(
  10. I love the sound of my GL2. My 11 year old son says it sounds like a 'muscle car' when you accelerate!
  11. Because of the lowered body and low profile tyres, i find the Fabia Greenline II great fun to drive. I know you can't compare the performance to a hot hatch, but please try to find a test drive in one before you decide as I have no issues with its performance and would not call it gutless, and on the dual carriageways and motorways it cruises beatifully at 70mph or more. As mentioned before, the cruise control is worth it's weight in gold. My local Skoda dealer (Griffin Mill, Pontypridd) has several greenlines on show as apparently there is quite a demand for them. Also find it a very comfortable car to drive.
  12. I have the Fabia Greenline Hatch and love it. Great ride, corners beautifully and am impressed by the performance of the 12tdi engine. Fuel saving is great and the boot even on the hatch is not too small (you have a lot of space under the mat where a spare wheel would normally go). Most of all I love the cruise control as standard as I do a lot of motorway and A-road driving. I'm sure the Citigo is great too and I can only suggest getting a test drive in both, Good luck with your search.
  13. I'm sure you will continue to love it. I've had mine for 1 and 1/2 months now and still love it. Great motorway car and surprisingly nippy around town. Best of all i am saving so much money on fuel. Enjoy!
  14. No you're not a div. i have been having exactly the same problem. Go to the skoda site, select the model of car you wish to buy accessories for, and on the right of the page there is a box where amongst the options listed is an accessories option. That will open a pdf of the catalogue.
  15. Hi Welsh Kai boy, I'm guessing that my Headunit does not have BT integrated as when David 8 tried to enable BT with VCDs it would not let us save the new coding. Hence I have been looking at getting a Bluetooth unit as mentioned. I notice on certain suppliers websites it is now saying that the bluetooth mics are not suitable for 2012 Amundsen+ units. Did you enable the BT on your headunit yourself ? Is there anything different I should have done to try and enable mine? I gave David 8 the following instructions: http://www.remkoweijnen.nl/blog/2011/08/26/rns-315-enable-the-hidden-bluetooth-carkit/ and he tried several times but each time the code was rejected. Thanks for the reply. Glad yours is up and running well. Cheers Malcolm
  16. Hi all, Would really like some reassurance before I take the plunge and buy one of these kits. I have a Fabia II (62 plate) with an Amundsen + Sat Nav / Stereo (RNS 315). I do not have a multifunction steering wheel or MaxiDot but can someone confirm if the bluetooth unit is fully functional via the touchscreen of the Amundsen + ? The kit I was looking at was: part 7P6 035 730 K SW:3200 HW:H15. There are also a lot of kits with a different ending letter instead of the 'k', mainly a 'J' or a 'L'. Would these also be suitable? Many thanks for your help. Stagger
  17. Hi Found these forums invaluable and very friendly. Enjoy the car!
  18. Have to admit to being often surprised at the reports and assumptions of the Greenline's engine being over stressed by being only a 1.2. Obviously I can only vouch for the Fabia Greenline II but it never feels stressed whilst sitting at 70 (or maybe occasionally more ) on the motorway, and it's acceleration, whilst obviously not in the same league as some cars, still feels pretty good when you learn the gears etc. One of the fun things I like about it is the low profile tyres and lowered body that is integral to the Greenline also makes if a great ride, and sticks to the road and corners better than any other car I've had. I am not a speed king on the road, nor am I Sunday driver, but I find it a great engine and the mpg has made me smile since I had it a month ago.
  19. Had car brand new on january 2nd and am very happy with my mpg, especially compared to my previous car, a Renault Grande Scenic 1.6 petrol. The average mpg readings (which i know to take with a pinch of salt) are around 55mpg. I must admit to not concentrating on eco driving (as i love the little kick the turbo gives ;-) but i have no complaints at what i'm getting with real world driving. My driving is a mix of town, A roads and motorway. Sometimes long trips and sometimes very short trips so i'm not expecting the ultimate mpg. Would be surprised if the Kia was any different but wish you luck and hope you love your new car.
  20. Hi all, Would love any advise or help with a problem on my Amundsen plus unit. I haven't got anything as flash as a Blackilne i'm afraid, but rather a new Fabia Greenline II bought january 2nd. I added the amundsen plus sat nav as an optional extra which i am very happy with. However I was harbouring a sneaky hope that it would have an internal bluetooth capability that I would be able to enable. With the fantastic help of David 8 we tried using vcds to untick the "disable bluetooth" setting as described at : http://www.remkoweijnen.nl/blog/2011/08/26/rns-315-enable-the-hidden-bluetooth-carkit/ However when we came to exit the vcds and save the new coding the coding was rejected and unable to be saved (though David 8 did save my sanity by changing the annoying double press to unlock all doors thingy). My question is do you think my rns315 unit has a bluetooth capability or does not. The part numder is 3T0035192L andthe Software version is 0324. Any advice must appreciated as my next thought is to spend out on a Fiscon plus kit which is streatching my finances a bit. Many thanks stagger
  21. Noticed it for the first time the other day whilst motorway driving in heavy rain. Really obscures the wing mirrors. Will definately try the turtlewax treatment or rain x. Excuse my ignorence, but do it apply it to the windscreen or the side windows (or both)? Cheers
  22. Had my Fabia Greenline Hatch since january 2nd and love it. Surprised at how much poke for a small engine and cruises on the motorway like a dream (love cruise control). I am not a speed demon and therefore am quite happy to admit it is not a Vrs etc, but i do find that once you get to know the car, pulling out at roundabouts and junctions presents no problems. Most of all i love my mpg. I am probably not driving as economically as i could, as i cannot be bothered to watch the gear change indicator etc, but as i do a mix of town and motorway driving, getting an average of 58 mpg over the last three weeks makes me happy :-) All in all i have no regrets. Cheers
  23. I know tat I have a Fabie 2Greenline, so can't really compare, but I have been very surprised how much poke my little 1.2 dti engine has. You can really feel the turbo kick in after the couple of seconds lag you would expect. can only expect a 1.6 in a bigger car to be Equally good. Get yourself a test drive definately. Sorry about bad typing, but my tablet has gone 7nsane!
  24. Oh well! Just took delivery of my Fabia Greenline and guess what, despite Skoda Uk and dealer saying maxidot would be fitted along with the Amundsen, guess what? No maxidot luckily I have emails from Skoda uk telling me that it is included so dealer now getting permission to fit it. Hopefully will go as well as Samsfab fitting!
