  1. I'm now officially out of the register, as I've gone back to Ford after 8 years of enjoyable Skoda ownership. I've bought what's called a "Trend" grade Focus here in Australia. Really impressed so far, and I'm nowhere near working out all of the stuff it can do. I haven't had a chance to take any pics, but here's a link to a similar car in the identical colour. https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/det...17469468/?Cr=4
  2. They replaced my clutch packs and mechatronics, although the car was still (just days) inside warranty.
  3. I found this looking through some old photos.😀 I suppose I should have been doing 66km/h for bonus points.😞
  4. Looks like a common question: https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/200669-eibach-springs-what-are-these-bits/
  5. You will need to change the shocks to something like Bilstein B8s as well, as the ride is very hard* with the Eibach lowering springs on standard shocks. *Actually, the ride is still hard even with the Bilsteins I have, albeit more bearable.
  6. Maybe there is some build up of lime etc in the nozzle. I find the nozzles in our shower-heads at home get crusted over time from hard water.
  7. From memory, it's about 650ml from top of cross-hatch to bottom of cross-hatch.

  10. Mine's too old, so off the hook... https://www.productsafety.gov.au/recall/volkswagen-group-australia-pty-ltd-t-as-skoda-australia-skoda-fabia-my2013-2015-octavia-my2009-2015-rapid-my2014-2015-roomster-my2013-2014-superb-my2009-2015-yeti-my2013-2015
  11. Might be some help in here - doesn't look like a rare event. https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/289272-bonnet-release-broken/
  12. Out of curiosity, what was done to fix the "oil issue"? Also, the water pump is about $1000 for parts and labour. Mine went at under 50,000km, and I'm now at 82,000 (hoping it's not required again before 100,000).
  13. Do Mk1 alloys fit Mk2? If so, then logically whatever applies to to the Seat/Mk1 combination should apply to the Seat/Mk2 one.
  14. Words don't do it justice.🤯 https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/details/SKODA-Fabia-2012/OAG-AD-16208689/?Cr=6
  15. Mine consistently sits on 93 or 94 degrees in summer when warm, and I've seen over 100 going uphill (under 90 going downhill in the other direction). Not a problem.
  16. Any chance someone was a bit heavy-handed with a polishing machine? I recall someone on another forum complaining that in polishing the roof he left dents in his current model VW Polo.
  17. Might be fuse related - there seems to be a fuse for "air blower for heating" on this chart (no. 39). Worth a look? http://knigaproavto.ru/shemy/en/skoda/fabia/106-skoda-fabia-ii-fuse-box-diagram-2007-2014.html
  18. I might have your solution. When my battery was going, the back wiper would do one sweep every time I started up. As soon as the battery was changed, it solved that problem. At least get your battery tested.
  19. 186miles is 300km, more or less, so that is being used as the unit of measure for the oil consumption test. Don't take a long drive to get the distance over, as that is likely to be the time when the car uses the least oil. Depending on what you want to achieve, drive it as you normally would - or do lots of short trips....
  20. A fair point. I've seen the oil level go down, then up, as it cooled down over the course of fifteen minutes or so.
  21. What do you make of the great Lucifer's opinion on keeping it in the cross-hatched area? https://forums.seatcupra.net/index.php?threads/lucifers-ultimate-guide-1-4tsi-fundamental-problems.407682/#post-4474746
  22. Check the bulb is in its holder properly. Mine kept working loose and producing a dancing light on that side. It's hard to get the bulb in with the battery in the way.
  23. So, I've sorted the random rear wiper issue. The fuse was intact when I looked at it, but the car started having a slight hesitation in starting, and I thought, "Hmm, maybe the 6 year old battery is on its way out." Since changing the battery, the back wiper is now behaving itself.
  24. Is this one accurate? http://knigaproavto.ru/shemy/en/skoda/fabia/106-skoda-fabia-ii-fuse-box-diagram-2007-2014.html
