Removal of drivers window switch trim?
orangehand replied to orangehand's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Thanks all; I finally got the switch module out with the help of 2 blokes and 4 small screwdrivers. All done now, but I assume there must be a special tool to do this!! -

Oh blimey! Now I can't work out how to get the switch module out of the trim (unless you need 6 hands to do it!) Any ideas? -

Hi - can I pay you to help me upgrade my unit? I posted in the ICE forum just now with all the details I have. Despite being an IT bod, my head is spinning with this!

HI y'all I have a Columbus head unit in my Octavia Estate 2010, and have just received the v13 maps on DVD. I'm really struggling to understand what the process is. I cannot easily remove the unit, so would like to: A Upgrade the firmware B Update the maps ...from the front of the unit, without needing to remove it. My friendly local garage plugged in and got: ECU ID 3T0035680A and s/w version 2724 Does this tell me what I need to know and what do I do next? Thanks in advance

Guide: Upgrading Columbus firmware and maps

Brilliant, thanks. Tried to pull it out but the wires are clearly super-short, so I will hit the local car audio guy up for it who installed my hands-free!- 736 replies

Guide: Upgrading Columbus firmware and maps

I'm sorry to be dim, but can someone clarify the following please: I have tried a pry tool, a screwdriver and a filler spreader on all 4 sides to remove the bezel so I can access the labels. I assume it IS the black bezel that contains the SD slot that I am removing? Somewhat anxious about breaking it! If I cannot get the damn thing off, is there any other way to access the system info? Holding down setup for ages just give me FM and AM, but no sysinfo. It seems that some are enabled to show the info and some not. How do I become a 'have'? Once I have identified the unit, is it pretty straightforward? I am in the IT biz, but this seems to be worrying me more than most!! Thanks- 736 replies

Yes, and it's a bloody pain!! An incoming email mutes the radio for 5 secs! Using a Parrot Mki9200 (which I cannot recommend!!)
