  1. Not really universal, it was designed to fit this car... The details of what pipework you need is available on here in more than one place, ive forgotten what I used tbf.
  2. That's my car in the eBay add back at my old workshop! I'm well happy with mine And it uses seat brackets Any questions feel free to ask
  3. Yea I see what you mean, since writing this I've got a reader on it, just a basic one mind. Got the following codes 19586 egr valve (it's gone so expected!) 17058 glow plug loom 17911 load signal from the alternator 18097 powertrain databus implausible value 17564 map sensor Now to me it could either be Map sensor ****ed N75 gone (it always has made a funny vibrating noise on turning engine off) Or veins stuck (thergo over boosting, map reading out, limp mode) First port of call map sensor. The darkside ones on eBay ya know the "3bar" ones, is this an oem part? Can I get it cheaper than the £30 they charge? Pattern parts are £15 delivered
  4. Hi all i don't tend to post on here just research, I've done some looking with regards to my questions but yet to find any answers so here goes! First a quick background on the car 2006 VRS 175K miles new turbo @ 120k SS style huge intercooler, custom silicon pipes. EGR delete and with egr outlet blanked at manifold Mufflerectomy around 2k ago past MOT a few weeks back emissions where spot on. I was driving home last night from a course, normal motorway speeds, boosting lovely as tested at previous roundabouts etc. I came off the motorway and only a small carriage way, gently down on the speed, round a roundabout and gently back on the throttle (no hoonage) Only to find no power, it wasnt a popped off turbo pipe, ive had enough of that to know the symptoms and how why and what that sounds like. the car runs fine but just doesnt pull anymore. The turbo sounds exactly the same as it always has, slight whistle on idle but thats normal. Only thing that i can identify is from the back end its got considerably louder, only from the exhaust, now, past exploits in jap cars have led me into whipping off the cat, smashing out the contents and fixing the issue. it sounds to me like this is the issue but i thought id pick you guys brains! Should it be the cat doing the dirty deed of slowing me down to a crawl what would be the best way of fixing it? I am NOT buying a new cat!! ha ha Can you whip the downpipe off and knock the contents through? or will i have the cut the box out and smash it through and weld it back in? or will i have to cut the box out and weld in a straight pipe? if so, what pipe diameter is the downpipe at the cat section, part of me wants to say 2.5" Sorry for the essay TIA Jimmy
  5. When it's all together it'll make sense I promise!
  6. full cage went in this weekend
  7. So as some of you may know, I'm not really all about the skoda, the mx5 is my primary project, the fabia just gets fixed and maintained! So here she is as she stands at the end of today I'll admit it doesn't look much at the minute and the wing looks a bit silly, bits its got to come down a few inches as of yet. Spec list is Engine conversion to 1.8 with higher comp pistons and lighter flywheel (to be lightened more)(and a 40thou head skim) New gearbox 4.3 torsen (torque sensing) differential Buddyclub racing spec dampers (with what I believe to be stiffer springs New calipers all round with upgrade to 1.8 disks and pads Rays engineering mazdaspeed wheels Full rollcage with additional center bars, twin v bars, door bars and harness bar Garage saurus gt wing (real carbon fibre) (homemade, by myself, supports) Custom front bumper Exhaust diverter valve GSXR irtbs on custom flowed manifold Custom vacuum distribution block Bolt on wide arches Plans Custom ecu 421 manifold Custom exhaust with diverter valve past a center box for loudness! Grp seats Lotus Elise diffuser Loads and loads more
  8. i bought an EGR delete from here on a group buy, all well and good. I took the EGR off, placed the blanking plate on top of the old egr pipe with two bolts, then bolted up the actual egr delete pipe. All was fine until around a month or so later and i realised she was making a bit of a wooshing noise on acceleration, getting worse and worse when progressing. lifted the bonnet and i noticed soot everywhere! brilliant! the corrugated section of the egr pipe had a huge hole in the side. so i spent last night finding where the egr pipe comes off the manifold, and putting the blanking plate there. I also noted that the pipe that comes from the manifold to the bottom of the egr cooler had two pretty major splits that looked like theyd been there a while. So long story short i'd been loosing a lot of precious turbo spinning exhaust gasses to the atmosphere for probably some time before i even fitted the EGR delete. Tip - when fitting the egr blank dont do what i did and blank off at the top of the pipe, get the car up in the air, take the old egr pipe off from the underneith and blank it at the manifold. Takes a tad longer but its so worth it!
  9. same issue as me mate, i filed the mating faces till they were flatter... only other option i could see that may work, if you get a very slim washer and that inbetween the delete pipe and the car to take up some of the bend in the flange, fit it, check for leaks, then your golden.
  10. i got the ****** file out and shaved some off to make it flat, should be better now. other than that the quality is not notch!
  11. Has anyone had an issue with the flanges having a bend in them? Normally I wouldn't care but I'm worried about it getting hot and cold and snapping a bolt
  12. mine should have arrived but its back at the post office!
