  1. Interested in the intercooler, have cash waiting, where are you based?
  2. Hi all, Im thinking of buying some nice wheels for my octavia in the next few months, BBS or OZ, have not decided which yet. Im not gonna keep my octavia forever, though for at least another 2 years and my next car will be an A4 quattro estate or a mk2 VRS estate. Obviously spending that much money on wheels i'll want to take them with me and put them on either the audi or octavia. I think that the audi's PCD is 5x112 so can i buy adapters to get the wheels to fit if i buy 5x100 PCD to fit my current octavia? And are they safe? Also does anybody know the PCD of the mk2 vrs? Many thanks.
  3. Hi thanks for the reply, it would be difficult to get a video as its only really noticeable when driving. My mate who does all the mechanical work on my car said it could be the turbo manifold also, he is gonna have a look next weekend for me. Really worried because ive not had the car long.
  4. Hello all, ive got a problem with my vrs, after start up, hot or cold, i get a blowing/chattering noise under acceleration which is really loud and annoying/embarrassing but then goes away after a few moments. Could this be anything to do with the secondary air pump? Could anyone shed any light on this? Many thanks.
  5. Hi James. Thanks for the reply. I'm trying really hard not to buy brand new wheels so a refurb some pre loved ones would suit my budget at the mo, being that time of year. Though widnes is a little far away. Hopefully ill find someone local who can provide the same kind of service.
  6. Hi all, im looking into getting some 17" spiders in the new year and was wanting them to be in anthracite. I know doing this your self would be cheaper but how much would it cost if i paid somebody (a professional) to do this for me? Anyone have any experience of a pro refurb?
  7. I havent seen this colour personally but when i get my 17" spiders they will be anthracite in colour, i know that for a fact.
  8. Had my new dunlops fitted today so good good. I'll do a few K's and pass on my thoughts.
  9. I went for the dunlops in the end, they had the better rating/review of the two choices. I came to the conclusion that none of the top tyre brands would be bad when it comes to winter tyres, expensive but hopefully worth it and a nice load of clubcard points to boot! I've mostly had michelins or continentals on most of my cars before summer tyres that is and never had any problems. Hopefully the same here. Thanks for the feedback all, you have been most helpful. I may write a little review after some mileage on the dunlops.
  10. Thanks. I was looking at some Dunlop sp winter sport 4d's or Goodyear ultragrips. Has anyone had any experience with these, you get quad clubcard points on black circles.
  11. Hi all. I have a bit of a winter tyre conondrum. I currently have sunew ys112's on my octavia vrs estate (they were on the car when I bought it, not through choice) and from what I've read about them they are not the best. I have a young family and want my car to be a safe as possible over the winter months as my wife sometimes drives my car with little one with her and obviously my daughter is in the car with me sometimes aswell. Though i said it would never happen again, im looking at some subtle mods in the new year, Remap and some 17" spiders. so with the remap and 17s on the cards what would you do? I'm willing to pay good money for some winter wheels/tyres so here are my options: 1: Keep the sunews on throughout the winter and hope they last and don't harm me/us. 2: Stick some winter tyres on my 16" spiders and change them for 17s and summer tyres when the weather gets warmer? 3: Buy some steels and winter tyres from eBay and swap change to 17s when the weather warms up? This has never been a problem in the past as the only person I had to look after was myself, now I have a family to watch over aswell. Many thanks.
  12. Yeah I've done a comparison, the premium doubles from £300 to £600 just declaring the cancelled insurance.
  13. Thanks for the advice all. I was just worried that cancelled insurance meant you lose all your no claims.
  14. Hi all, just looking for some advice. As the title says, does having your insurance cancelled affect your no claims? My current insurance company wants to check my NCB history because ive had insurance since 2000 but only have 10 years NCB but im worried that cancelled insurance means you lose your NCB. The reason why it was cancelled was because of my bank account being hacked and i had to have all my account details changed,The bank said all my direct debits will go out as normal, but guess which one didnt, thats right, my car insurance, thus my account registered with my insurance comapny at the time didnt exist so they couldnt take the money so they cancelled my insurance. Really stressed about this, can anybody shed any info on this? Many thanks.
  15. Thanks for the advice, theres a tesco less than a mile away so tesco 99 it is. I pick it up at some point today so i cant wait. Its first job is the family holiday to the hampshire coast so a good chance to see what its like on a run.
  16. Hello all, I was just wondering what would be the best brand of super unleaded to put in my vrs when i collect it on saturday? BP, Shell ect? My Clio sports didnt enjoy ultimate a few years back and i know some engines seem to run better on certain brands. Ive been a derv man for years and the last time i put petrol in a car was 6 years ago and i know little of the 1.8t engine and never had a petrol turbo car before. Many thanks.
  17. Cheers for the replys guys. I just thought it was a one size fits all jobby but if they can limit the strain on the clutch then all the better! Does it make a big difference having it done then? Been thinking of getting it done for ages now, id get it done soon but with christmas and everything. Cheers again, Matt.
  18. Hi folks, Im thinking of getting my fabia vrs remapped with revo or jabba with them being the closest to where i live. My question is can the standard clutch handle the 290lbs ish of torque the is going to be produced? Just dont want to go through new clutches like there is no tommorow. Cheers everyone. Matt.
  19. Hi everyone. Had a good cleaning session today, using clay for the first time too which i was really impressed with, then polished and finally waxed. Now the exterior and interior is squeeky clean how do I clean the engine bay? Its not excessively dirty but i'd like to give it a scrub anyway. Any products anyone could recommend and methods would be a great help. Thanks Matt
  20. Erm... I wasnt expecting that! Any how, thanks for the replys, you guys have been most helpful. Just looked at the photo of your car chrisRs, I really want a black vrs now!
  21. Thanks for the replys everyone. Yeah i did a search but couldnt get a simple answer like "yes" or "no dont bother". So you can actually feel a big difference between standard and clicked? I like the sound of it because you can put everything back to normal for dealer visits etc for warrenty issues and by the sounds of it, it will keep the clutch happy too, which was one of my main concerns. Just one more question, can it be swapped between cars (ie if I get another fabia vrs after my current one?) Thanks again for your help everyone! Matt.
  22. Hi, I have a 05 plate fabia vrs and I am interested in the amd 1 click. Is there anyone on here who has one? Is it any good? What bhp and mainly torque figures would I be looking at if I purchased one? Pro's and con's? Sorry for all the questions, just want to make sure before spending money! Cheers Matt:)
  23. I was just gonna ask the same question about tree sap and bugs etc! Thanks for the website finer details. Cheers Matt:)
