  1. Thanks for the advice.Been in touch with Nokian and got a speedy reply that it would be okay to fit both models to the same car, but they recomended the A3's to the rear and the G2's to the front (no specific reason given). Thanks again

    advice

Hi, Looking for advice and you have been helpful in the past so here goes. I have two new (never mounted) Nokian WRG2 tyres from last year (a mix up on delivery ended up with me getting 6 tyres instead of 4 and the company said i could keep the other two as it would be more expensive to arrange a pick up of them).Nokian no longer make this tyre (G2) and have replaced it with the WRA3 .My question is, would it be okay to fit the A3's and the G2's to the same car, ie A3's on the front and G2's on the back or vice versa.they would be exactly the same specs such as load , speed rating diameter etc, the only slight difference is in tread pattern. both types of tyres are assymetrical inside outside type. As usual internet gives a tousand and one differnet answers to this. Thankyou in advance.
  3. for info, Ordered new Yeti elegance 170 TDI 4x4 with extras on 09/10/2012 and was told today car ready to be picked up this Saturday (05/01/2013).This is shorter than i was told as they thought the build would be third week January. Looks like orders may be coming through a bit quicker than people might expect, or i just got lucky??????? Happy new year to all on Briskoda.
  4. Thanks speedsport for the link, should have done that myself.
  5. Hi, Just been told my yeti is being built this week, having originaly been told 2nd week in January.I only ordered this car about 2 months ago (if that) and was getting myself used to the idea of a longish wait despite the initial promise of a January build ( which i was expecting to stretch out a little). Anyway i digress, the actual topic of this post is winter driving safety. I have put winter tyres on my cars now for the last few seasons and like most who do, find the difference these make to be amazing and not just in the snowy conditions you might expect, however good tyres alone dont make you a safer driver and i just wanted to point out to you all that Nokian tyres website has a really good and intersting section to it this year which might be worth a look to anyone interested in winter driving. Most of it is basic stuff but still good nonethless.Another good site is canadian driver (i think!!!!) Have a great Christmas and new year when it comes. Safe driving to all
  6. Kibby, Thought you might like to know that i bought x4 winter tyres from an online company called Lovetyres.Ordered them yesterday and have just arrived with me in aberdeenshire.they have alot of stock it would seem so might be worth having a look at.Ordering process very easy. They also answered a question i had very promptly with no sales pitch or pressure to buy. would recommend to anyone who is looking for new rubber.
  7. Skoda Uk website shows 1.2 TSI SE and SE plus (presuming thats what you have as the lower spec cars are on 16 inch wheels) as having 225/50/r17 94W as standard, not the 98 V you have mentioned.I have tried online calculators aswell and come up with differences.Go with any tyre you like but keep the same recomendations as what your car came with. All the info is located on the tyre, including speed and load ratings.Generaly you should stick to what the manufacturer reccomends for summer tyres however for winter tyres you have a bit more leway with regards speed rating only. Load rating should always be the same or higher than standard but never lower. I would suggest that others who have replied to this thread actualy read the whole posted question. You may think people are daft asking particular questions when you already know the answer and you might read into things other meanings but they wouldnt post if they knew the answer, now would they.
  8. Hi, Just recently placed an order for my next car (Yeti 170 4x4,black,silver roof rails, annupurna wheels, heated windscreen, three spoke steering wheel, spare wheel and electric seat/heated wing mirrors combo).and have recieved a provisional build date of week 02 in January 2013 from the dealer.Realisticaly from youre own experiences, does this dealer date generally vary alot from actualy being given a CONFIRMED build date by Skoda.
