  1. Estate Man, you are a legend  I had exact same problem as Chris_55 with my drivers side window on a Fabia II. I followed your instructions above, didn't hear a click after 3 seconds, but all seems to be operational again. One Touch working and no stuttering when the window is closing. Thanks a mil, took a couple of minutes and saved me a fortune from a main dealer plug in.
  2. Thanks a mil for the info Sharky09. I have a 09 Combi with exact same problem, I intend to try fixing it in daylight on Saturday, I will let you know how I get on
  3. Spotted this on the Top Gear Facebook page. Mods, apologies if it's a repost, i looked but couldn't find it.

  5. Rich Folk I say old chum, the TDM is 9 years old and the VFR is 12 years old so not expensive and insurance is all under one multibike policy.

  7. Hello all. New owner from Dublin. I have just bought my first Skoda last week, a 2009 1.2 Combi Sport and I love it. I downsized from a 2L Hyundai Tucson and I can't believe the difference in fuel consumption. Also space inside is massive. I thought I woul dfind it cramped after the Tucson but not so, loads if headroom and lots of legroom in the back. Found the site when I was searching to see what the change interval was for the timing belt, only to find out here that it is a timing chain and doesn't need replacing (If the right oil is used, what is the right oil? That's my first noob question.... ) Also, Drum brakes on the back, the drums are very visible through the alloys and look rusted, anyone recommend what I can paint them with, needs to be rust resistant and maybe also needs to be heat resistant. I typically do my own basic servicing but leave the more complicated stuff to the experts. My two brothers converted me, they both have Superbs and sis in law has an Octavia. Big into motorbikes too Anyway, enough about me, I am sure I will be annoying ye lot with loads of silly questions soon enough.
