  1. Yeah, the mechanic did mention the Cat come to think of it...bloody hope not. You only hear the rattling on rough/bumpy surfaces. Not really equated it to the clutch tbh...
  2. Had this rattling noise coming from the front end for a couple of weeks. Sounds like it is coming from somewhere in the middle of the engine section. Not in the engine bay itself (I don't think), but somewhere underneath. Took it to mates garage and he thought it might be the 2x D-bushes on the FARB that were perished and needed replacing. Replaced them today and still the same noise. I'm pretty sure its nothing serious, as the car is driving well. Possible something that has come loose and needs re-fixing/replacing. However the rattling noise is bloody awful :| Recent work I have had done FYI - New clutch, new sports suspension, new alternator. Not much detail here I know, but if I can get some ideas, I will jot them down and take them to the garage to get checked out... Feel free to ask any questions for more detail.
  3. Just replaced both brake lights with LED ones. Apparently they are Canbus bulbs, however I am getting all sorts of error lights: Bulb error light comes on.However when I press the brake it turns off, when I let go of the brake it comes on again with that annoying BEEP! Coil light is flashing. The LED strip light just below the spoiler has 2 lights on at either end, even when the brake pedal is not pressed. Any way to get round this...??
  4. your just down the road mate! Milton Keynes isn't that far at all. I travel down to London often and so know the route well. No worries tho.
  5. FK Coilovers for sale, removed from my Fabia vRS as I've had new suspension fitted. Just couldn't handle the harsh ride any more!! As you can see from picture, they could do with a refurb and the springs could do with a powder coat. Obviously I can't comment on the condition of the internal components, and as such these are sold as seen. Looking for a quick sale as I want them gone ASAP. Collection only please, because I can't be bothered to ship them. £50 (no offers).
  6. I am trying to input the code into a replacement Symphony stereo, I have got as far as typing in the 4 digit code, but what do you press after that to 'enter' it into the unit...? Any help would be great.
  7. That is good idea mate. However the link you provided is for models 2005 onwards. But I'm sure there will be one available for an 04 plate. Thanks!
  8. my MK1 Fabia is the only car I have actually had an emotional feeling for...creepy as that may sound, I don't care! I love it man, no really, I fookin love the little beast. The way its so fuel economical, the way its so bloody fast, the way it simply eats up the motorways without missing a beat...but mostly, the way it pushes me back in my seat when the turbo kicks in and the torque tugs me from 'over here' to 'over there' very quickly
  9. lol, we're everywhere mate! Re: Polos, good point. But would they have the same cd changer fitted under the passenger seat? If they do, then I'm certain they could be an exact fit...might have to find me a VAG forum and pose the question.
  10. tried that mate, and will keep trying. I'm not sure if the CD changer only came as standard on the SE models though...? btw, tell your son to take that hat off! I can recommend a great shop on White Hart Lane where he can get a replacement... :p
  11. Also posted this in the 'Items Wanted' section, but thought I might try here as well... I'm after an underseat CD changer kit for my Furby. I should be getting the CD changer in soon. This kit consists of the underseat fixing brackets, the wiring harness to connect it to the stereo, and the plastic surround trim. There is a thread on here from a few years back, and one of the posts lists the item number for this kit as: AZO 400 101 Just phoned Skoda and they advised this part was discontinued about 5 years ago :| Can anyone help me in tracking one down.....pleeeeeeeeeaaaaaase! I found a picture of the kit from a Russian Skoda forum. Attached for reference.
  12. So I've always loved the natural white light that is emitted from headlights, but my assumption has been the only way to do this is by fitting an HID kit. Are you able to fit LED bulbs to your standard headlamps, for your side lights and main/full beams? And would the result be the same/similar?
  13. Always thought they look much better emanating from a car. You have however touched on a question I was gonna stat a thread on, which I will do now. As I don't want to hijack this thread!
  14. pretty much all of the above (NOT coilovers IMO). Plus a pair of these puppies, with HID upgrade: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/350720499536?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
  15. try these breakers on eBay, they are selling it in the colour of yours (diamond silver I believe): http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Skoda-Fabia-Vrs-Breaking-/251274793573?pt=UK_Cars_Parts_Vehicles_Other_Vehicle_Parts_Accessories_ET&hash=item3a81251265 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2005-SKODA-FABIA-VRS-WING-MIRROR-BREAKING-/130847663975?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item1e7720e767 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Skoda-Fabia-VRS-breaking-available-parts-listed-/281108258657?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item41735b9f61
  16. have you still got the pedals? they look like they will fit my Fabia...
  17. sorry, going back to where I bought them from tomorrow. Courier booked and everything...
  18. thanks mate. I posted it in the 'Ask Skoda' section because I thought they would be the best people to answer. Tried phoning a couple of Skoda dealerships today and speaking with the parts dept. Might as well have spoken to my 5 year old daughter...
  19. I'm hoping someone can help with this. There is a guy on here selling the CD changer from his MK1 Octavia, which I am interested in buying for my Fabia MK1. Would I be able to fit this to my Fabia? If I bought the fixing brackets and wiring harness separately? I know that in the Octavia the unit is fitted in the boot, but on the Fabia it is fitted under the front passenger seat. I have tried phoning a couple of Skoda dealerships for advice, but they don't have a clue. Thanks!
  20. I would suggest buying a new centre console mate, that's what I have done. There are a few Fabia breakers on ebay (not the ones listing individual bits, but the ones listing the whole car. Give them a call, I'm sure you can find a good deal). BTW, can I ask how easy it is to remove the centre vent console? I will be doing this soon and wanted to get an idea. Is it straightforward to replace? Bearing in mind you have the hazard light button to contend with also...
  21. Can anyone advise me if the CD changer you get in a MK1 Octavia (fitted in the boot) is the same one that fits in a MK1 Fabia (fitted under the front passenger seat)?? Thanks!
