  1. Which I'll happily consider if Skoda are prepared to make me one!!
  2. Ok so I'm getting an Exeo SE Tech with full leather, Bose system, rear sensors, bi-xenons etc etc etc. Not as powerful as the VRS (143 vs 170) but that's probably a good thing having recently attended a Speed Awareness course! Still a bit disappointed I lost out on the Skoda but hey ho..... (I now have to find a home for a Milotec rear badge cover (black), 2 x Osram H1 100W and 2 x Osram Night Breaker H7 55W plus 2 x VRS vinyl cut logo's (7cm x 2cm) in matt black). MODS - not sure if this is classed as selling & if it's allowed - if so please delete the 2nd paragraph?
  3. My lease term is actually up, I have less than 4k miles to go before I need a hire car and I'll do that in the next 4-5 weeks, however the service from Skoda has been so poor that TBH I wouldn't entertain buying from them even if I could. There are better alternatives IMO and I'm almost glad that things have gone pear-shaped.... As for the 2.2 Accord Tourer I'd love one, but it comes out too much by the time I've added extras!
  4. According to the dealer I visited today the Exeo is being removed in favour of theToledo, but will probably re-appear at the end of the year as a 'special'. No mention was made of a Mk2.
  5. Update: Just got back from looking at the Cruze, the Insignia & the Exeo. The Cruze is plastic hideousness on wheels! It truly is a horrible car IMO so was very easy to rule out. The Insignia is ok but I'm not a huge fan of the interior, so I'm reserving judgement until I've driven one on Tuesday, although this still remains 2nd on the list. Now to the Exeo. I want it but cannot believe that I'm in a very similar situation to that of the VRS as far as timing is concerned! I missed out on the Skoda due to the build schedule (or lack of), and I have until Tuesday to get my order in to Seat as no more factory orders are being accepted after that. Unbelievable!! Fortunately I have a very switched on HR lady that's dealing with it and apparently we have a new account manager at the lease company that's keen to make a good first impression. Essentially I have 36 hours to get an order confirmation.....
  6. Thanks - first hand recommendations are always useful. A colleague got one 2 weeks ago and I'm driving it on Tuesday.... I'd like one of these but it's outside my measly allowance! Once I decide I'm going for the SE Tech which is close enough. The Seat-with-extras is the favourite at the moment with the Insignia a close 2nd and I'm off out in a minute to look at all of them. My Co leases via the cheapest (usually Lex or HSBC) but I'm sure they'd be open to saving £££'s! I'd appreciate the details please?
  7. Me?? I can't sing Humpty Dumpty! Thanks a million. This is actually number 3 of 3 in terms of choice and it's the interior that's putting me off. I do wonder how they can offer pretty much every extra as standard for around £2k less than other manufacturers. Ironically I can still order my car via the Skoda website!
  8. The order was placed on Aug 27 and chased regularly - it was Skoda that kept delaying things. I did call a local dealer to ask if lease orders take second place to private buys, and he said the delay would be purely due to the Mk3 builds that are taking priority. According to the lease co (HSBC) the dealer is/was livid as he lost the sale as again it was Skoda calling the shots. I'm naturally disappointed but slightly relieved too - could this be the shape of things to come re customer service etc? I don't expect good service or a pleasant attitude from a car dealer (except when they're cheerfully calling to remind you the service is due), but c'mon chaps, surely you WANT to sell a car?! Thanks again guys for all of your responses & help - it's been a pleasure chatting......
  9. Good idea but it's a Co car so has to be new, and definitely another manufacturer! Narrowed it down to a high-spec Seat Exeo, Insignia or Chevy Cruze.
  10. It really doesn't make sense does it? It's a Co car so it's leased, but this should make no difference IMO. I did wonder whether private users take priority over business users....
  11. Having ordered a VRS Estate (with extras) in August with the delivery date of Oct 27 being moved to Dec 21, Jan 21 and then Feb 21, I've found out today that it will not be built. The attitude of Skoda has been quite remarkable with all manner of excuses - the most popular being that 'the Alcantara seats are causing a problem'. It's now evident that there was probably no intention of ever building the car - why not just tell me in the first place? I've now decided (helped by the countless posts on here about very poor customer service) to look at a different manufacturer. This is a final post to say 'thanks' to all those who gave useful information (that I intended to use!) and those that answered my questions.
  12. I have this after much research, thinking it's not a lot to lose if it's no good. http://www.aliexpress.com/item/FULL-HD-1080P-Car-DVR-CameraIR-Dashboard-Vehicle-Black-Box-GS1000-Video-Recorder-Free-Shipping/624089952.html VERY impressed with both video & available features/settings. Plus it's cheaper now!
  13. Sounds like a great project, but surely you'll need more than a 9v battery to light them up? ( )
  14. Thank you! Just found a guy in Worcester offering VCDS services for £10 dependent on requirements.
  15. Still waiting for my delivery (from August order) and have just noticed that I missed off what I think is an extra, but I'm hoping someone is going to correct me! Looking at the options available and also the standard spec I see that Coming Home Lights & associated bits are extras, but I didn't notice at the time - bugg*r! Don't suppose I'm going to be pleasantly surprised when I get it and have mis-read things?!
  16. I called a local dealer today to try to get some more info and he's sort-of backed up your theory. The Mk3 production is now well underway and orders for the 2 are being pushed back. Coupled with specific additions, an increase in overall Skoda orders plus model-specific production schedules, delays seem to be the norm right now. He cited an example of one poor guy recently who wanted a particular Roomster, only to be told that there are NONE in the UK....
  17. Blimey!!! I think my almost-5-months is now unworthy of sympathy!
  18. Or is this normal? Request date 28 August - new revised delivery date 21 January, 'due to the volume of orders at the factory'. Surely vehicles are made in the order that requests are received? **Sorry - have just seen the 'Waiting Room' forum. Apologies for starting a new thread**
  19. Ha ha ha!!!! I only came on here with what I thought was useful info and it's all gone somewhat t*ts up! While you're here - how different is the Scout to drive?
  20. Not entirely sure what your point is - the use of a non-English word perhaps? My heartfelt thanks for the emoticon pointer though! Oh by the way, it's 'kindergarten'. Love you too.
  21. I'm a little disappointed that no little smiley-icon exists that depicts the shaking of a head as I cannot believe some of the responses here, nor the fact some individuals need things explaining in kindergarten terms. But as I'm a really, really nice guy I'll oblige those that need it! Firstly 'BJM' my post wasn't a question so the first line of your completely unnecessary rant is wholly incorrect sonny. Secondly you need to stop taking the English langauge in literally the way that it's written i.e try to look beyond at the implied meaning? Shakespeare was a master at this as are many leading authors. I'll explain chum: The WM police have now added 2 x 7.5T trucks to their fleet. These (apparently, but the chap that told me could be a delusional fantasist as others here allude to) are unmarked & fitted with cameras & sensors. They plan to simply drive up & down the motorways recording vehicles that are breaking the law in some way, for example, speeding. I assume (assume, not fact) that this will be more productive than mobile cameras on just one stretch of road, as other offences can be seen in addition to those driving too fast. I refer to a previously used word - 'unmarked' - which does (as I'm sure you understand) prevent me from giving details of the signwriting on said vehicles (line 4 of your completely unnecessary rant). To explain further my friend, the chap that passed on this information (the delusional liar, remember him?) was told directly by an officer from the force while he was having graphics fitted to his new patrol car. Is this becoming a little clearer? Summarily then matey: 1. The trucks are unmarked 2. The chap that told me fits graphics to the WM force vehicles 3. He wasn't fitting anything to a truck - he was told by an officer in conversation and finally 4. He told me as a gesture of kindness which is exactly the reason I posted it on this forum, however after the diatribe that followed I don't think I'll bother in future. Have a nice day buddy! Love you.
