  1. Thanks Rockhopper. I suspect I've misled you by being lazy and putting a picture on posted by someone else thinking they were the same thing. Having read as many of the related posts that I can find, I'm pretty sure I have the dome shaped caddy trims rather than the T5 trims. They do have the 5x112 bolt pattern of the caddys rather then the 5x120 of the T5. Anyway, thanks for the response. I'll follow the thread that Merlin's Friend point me towards regarding fixing the badge on, that is if I can get over the hurdle of attaching the trims to the car (I've just revived an old thread on that subject which you may be able to help with).
  2. Apologies for resurrecting this thread, but I'm having problems fitting the caddy trims. Reading the above the trim should just click on over the bolts, but not in my case. Firstly they are the dome shaped caddy trims rather than the T5 trims since they are 5x112 bolting pattern. I have removed the locking wheel bolt to make sure that wasn't the problem, but the trim just doesn't seem to click into place. It seems to be held of due to the outer diameter of the trim touching the wheel before the retention feature has clicked over the shoulder of the bolts. Even when I really push it won't engage. I have removed a bolt from the wheel and pushed it into the trim (off the car) and it cleanly engages so that all seems in order. The wheel are skoda 7J steel wheels. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks.
  3. Apologies, not sure how I missed that post. Looks like that ebay sale has ended a while back, but I guess I could see if the seller has any more, if nobody else has any links. Thanks

    Bearded Oldies?

I'm currently sporting some face furniture (full beard), which I usually grow for winter and forms part of my winter coat (along with a few extra pounds of additional insulation). I typically then try to shed both in the spring. I'm a mere 38 so I suspect I form part of the lower quartile (or at least the second quartile) in terms of age.
  5. Based on info from this forum, I've just bought some caddy centre trims (part number 2KO 601149C) to cover the wheel nuts and to finish the look off of the 16" steelies that I've just fitted some winter wheels onto. I've had a look through the old threads that mention these trims (from which I've pilfered the attached picture) and some mention poor quality ebay purchases that haven't impressed the buyers, but can't see any recommendation. Has anyone out there found a half decent badge the shape of which suits being glued onto the centre trim. I think the shape is important since the centre of the caddy trims are curved so getting a badge to sit well for glueing will be down to the shape of the badge and some fettling. This is the first time I've posted an attachment so it won't be a massive surprise there is nothing attached. Also I wasn't sure if such trivia warranted its own thread, but I thought best not to resurrect or divert one on the winter wheel threads, and I guess it is easier to search for in the future (assuming anybody responses). Oh, and I'm after the "old skool" badge with the green to match the rest of the badges. I would have been tempted to change to the new badge style but then that wouldn't match the steering wheel which I assume can't easily be change, and that just wouldn't do .
  6. I've not heard a yeti without, but with it sounds pretty good. The system struggles with bass somewhat and I'm sure a true audiophile would be able to critic much more descriptively, but I'm happy I got it since I do listen to a lot of music in the car (when I get chance to drive it). I listen to 6 music a lot so DAB would be a must for me to. I find it slightly amusing that where as other car manufactures might have a Bose, Harman Kardon or similar plaque attached to the speaker fronts, Skoda decided to attach a little silver plastic plaque that says "sound system". This is a bit naff and they shouldn't have bothered. I guess they did this to indicate to any skeptical buyers that the sound system option has been fitted in case the quality of the audio left them in doubt!! Alternatively, maybe the only difference between the normal speakers and the optional sound system is the little silver label, and the whole thing is a scam. Anyway as I say, I'm happy with it and would select again.
  7. I'm a bit concerned about this blistering and the wheel arch rust that some have reported. I was thinking of protecting my relatively new SM with the plastic wheel arch trims (to protect from stone chips that I think Graham has suffered with if I recall correctly), and 3M clear helicopter tape on the lower bit of the doors along with mud guards. I know the mud guards aren"t meant to be compatible with the wheel arch trim but I'm hoping they can be adapted. I also appreciate they aren't massively effective. This is all a bit probably a bit excessive, and I am making the assumption that the blistering does require some surface damage, but I'm also wary that doing all this could make a warranty claim should I have a paint issue more tricky. Anyone advice beyond telling me to stop being so precious?
  8. Do you think it is possible to retrofit an electric drivers seat? I appreciate that this would be pain, but is it feasible without taking the car to piece part level? I'm guessing an electric seat can be ordered, though I imagine that may be a tad pricey. My main questions are: Are all the controls on the seat (rather than the door) inc the memory function button? Does anyone know (or have manuals that show) if this requires: - a long new harness that goes halfway around the car - just a short make up harness that connect to one of the main harnesses - or even better (and unlikely) connecting to the usually redundant harness that lives just under the seat ready for the 1 person who wants to do this? I guess even if power exists close by, I assume that the whole circuit resistance will change and result in spurious error. I'm not much cop at electrics. Anyway, should i just give up on this?

    Waiting List

Kenny, When i applied for the skoda 7 day insurance at the end of April they listed 3 L&K models, but back then I'm sure they had a 1.8 petrol and a 2.0 petrol manual and a 2.0 diesel DSG. I was getting the 170 diesel so I had to explain they'd got the 2.0 petrol mixed up with the diesel. Looks like they still have't got the line up quite right. In they end they insured mine as the 140 DSG diesel and made an note on the system that the car was actually a 170 manual diesel. I thought it was going to be a "computer says no" moment, but was OK in the end.
  10. i got some skoda bars last week. Silver bolts only, looks like they don't have the black bolt option as previously discuss in this thread I think. Anyway, they came with 10 bolts although my 3 week old yeti only has 4 bolt holes in each rail (2 at the front and 2 at the back on each rail).
  11. Thanks for the further pics and advice. After all that I've just ordered the Kamei Delphin 380 box with the Skoda bars (and a Atera Strada DL3 bike tow bar rack). After undoubtedly too much consideration I decided against the Whispbar aero-X, even though I really like the lower height. I think the access to remove the cover on the top of the Whispbars (that provides access to the allen key bolt that fastens them in place), would perhaps be a bit limited with the slightly overhanging Delphin. It looks like you need to get you fingers to the inboard edge of the foot cover and pull outboard to remove. Anyway, I'd normally go for this sort of challenge to get what I fancy, but not this time. Besides, I think the box will be getting a fair bit of use and so the ease of installation mentioned in the thread for the skoda bars appeals. Once I've got the bars I hope to contribute to this poll rather than hi-jacking for advise! Thanks again.
  12. I'm jealous, but good for you.
  13. 805mm does seem small for the useable width on the whispbars, but based on the very helpful marked up photo, I am now pretty confident that the width won't be a problem. However, my new concern (which I should have spotted sooner) is that the low whispbars will mean that the box will clash with the sharky bit of the aerial. My Yeti has a 3 inch tall shark fin into which the aerial screws - I guess this is for DAB or sat nav. Anyway, I'm now worried that this will clash with a roof box on the particularly low whispbars since the top of the fin stands about an inch proud of the top profile of the roof rails. I might just stop messing around and get the Skoda bars to go with the Delphin! Anyway, thanks to Michael G, dbg400 and Johann for helping me though the all too painful decision making process.
  14. This post mentions a few whispbar owner. I was hoping to get the whispbars with the Kamei Delphin 380 roofbox, but roofbox.co.uk say they aren't compatible because the box is too wide for the bars. I found somewhere that the clean bar length is 805mm on the Yeti with the Whispbars. 900000 was kind enough to measure the width on the bottom of his Delphin 380 at around 820mm so it looks like roof.co.uk are right. However this is tantalisingly close to fitting. Anyway, getting to the point, has anyone got this combo to work?
  15. How annoying. I have just received the L&K I ordered, and I pestered the dealer and Skoda UK right up to the build freeze week to see if electric seat would be coming available. Skoda UK confirmed that there was no plans to offer electric seats on the L&K, and what do you know 8 weeks later they are available. Feeling a bit disappointed now since I've already found it a bit of a pain adjusting the seat every time I use the car (which is only 3 times). I suppose I can take it out on the new car feedback form for what is is worth.
  16. You can get the MDI cable as an option (£175) I think. It is now listed on the car configurator. I ordered the CR170 L&K 3 weeks ago, and the dealer added the MDI on last week. I don't think Storm blue is available on the L&K i'm afraid, or it least not on the configurator.

    Yeti L&K

No worries. The dealer is being quite good, we're going to see if electric seats becomes available just before the build freeze date. I don't hold out much hope, but you never know. Funny how 2 weeks after I order the L&K Skoda announce DAB across the range which was part of my justification for stretching to the L&K. Oh well, I like the idea of it now too much to try to change the order. I ordered on the 28th, I guess we'll see who's arrives first.

    Yeti L&K

I've finally ordered a yeti (L&K), and now I'm thinking of adding the electrically adjustable seats. This is mainly because I'll be sharing the car with my other half, and I think it'll bug me to adjust everything manually each time I get in. As discussed above the brochure suggests that this isn't even available as an option which is why I didn't think about adding as an option when i ordered the car. Having seen the post above I asked the dealership to investigate and I also gave Skoda UK a call. Both came back and said that the electrically adjustable seats aren't standard (which would have been a pleasant surprise), and that they aren't even available as an option. This contradicts what Hmibennett was told by his dealership, but us consistent with the brochure . The more I think about it the more I'm keen to try to get electric seats, but this is sounding unlikely to be possible, which is surprising for their top spec car. Anyone know if this is just initial confusion or if what I'm being told is correct. The dealership seem quite happy to adjust the build up until 5 weeks before the build date so I'm hoping the fog with clear soon.
  19. After almost 6 months of indecision I've finally ordered a Yeti. I too have ordered an L&K (though 170 tdi manual). This is some way off where I started (i was thinking Elegance 110 2WD with a few options), but I've been hanging on for DAB, and I've somehow used this to justify significant scope creep. I'm hoping the drop in economy will be worth the extra fun. It has been a long journey, but I couldn't hang on for the facelift because getting our baby boy in and out of a 2 door car is getting more difficult and my other half is losing patience. I suspect I'll be gutted when the facelift comes out, but I'm hoping I don't like it. If anyone is interested, I added the spare (though expect I'll really need the boot space), the removeable towbar (because I know in reality the car is really too small for us but I'll get a bar rack and roof box), and the 12 speaker upgrade. Oh and it'll be steel grey I've got questions about whether you can get electrically adjustable seats on the L&K, but I think there was another post on that, so I'd better not confuse things. Thanks for all the advise so far it has been really helpful.
  20. I've been hanging on for DAB and finally it comes on the L&K with it as standard. Unfortunately I was after 110 2WD, due to budget new and economy so not sure I should stretch to 4WD only L&K. I could be inclined to get carried way, but I'm not sure I can get it though the domestic accounts dept. Shame you can't get the same Columbus DAB as an option on other models. I called Skoda UK today to see if they are planning on doing the L&K with 2WD, or whether they are going to broaden the availability of Columbus DAB, but they didn't seemed to know anything further to what the current brochure states (or at least wouldn't tell me).
  21. Sounds nice Jezzep. I've been holding off ordering in order to wait for DAB (mainly for 6music), but I can't find anything out in terms of when from Skoda uk. Fuzzybunny it sounds like you know they aren't going to do anything soon - is this from Skoda UK? I'm a bit frustrated, after the announcement on the Skoda-auto main site back in October about putting DAB with the Columbus (in the same announcement as the L&K), and then no further info. Anyway, will have to order this year or go for something else (currently being tempted away by a Legacy).
  22. Has anyone heard anything more on DAB radio. I know a statement came out along with the L&K that skoda were going make columbus DAB capable. I'm keen to order a snowmonster, but am holding out for DAB, and getting impatient. I've asked a couple of dealers to let me know when they hear anything in terms of timescales, but still no word. Anyone out there had more luck?
  23. I posted the other day thinking of investing in one of these here yetis. I was thinking of hanging on for the facelift, but I'm increasingly thinking of going for the current especially if the facelift will lose the round lights. Thanks for chipping in 33q, i called Rainworth yesterday and got a call back from a Steve today, which is better than I've managed from others. I'm trying to find out when the L&K details will be available and when may be ordered - I'll see if Steve can help. Anyway, I'm new to forums but guessing bad form to not stay on topic so.... If skoda are going to follow the crowd then i guess they will lose the buyers who prefer to have something a little different, but will position the yeti to appeal more towards the masses, but in a competative market they may not then sell any more. I was looking at the sportage, and on paper it seems really good. If I didn't have the Yeti option and faced will a bunch of SUVs that looked like a Kia, then maybe I would just buy one.
  24. Thanks for the welcome (Macdemon). Just got back form our first long weekend away with our baby boy which has reinforce the need for something with 4 doors pretty soon. Thanks for the advice - I just need to make a decision now!
  25. Firstly, thanks for all the advice that I've found on the site - I hope to be able to contribute sooner or later. Sorry to open with a need for help, but I'm not qualified to do much else yet. Just had a little one and need something with four doors in the not too distant future. I've pretty much decided on a new yeti elegance 2.0 2WD. Due to second hand prices and liking a few options I'm currently thinking of going for a factory order (dealer claims 3 months at the moment which I could just about tolerate). However I'm put off ordering due to uncertainty about the potentially imminent facelift. I realise this might be a bit daft, but I don't want to be gutted if the facelift comes out just after I order. If it came out tomorrow and skoda had tinkered with the handling and over-sharpened the looks then I may well just go for the current face anyway and I guess it may be a little cheaper. However, if the facelift came out next week, looked as good and had a DAB radio then I'd be glad I'd waited. I'd been hanging on for Paris, but no facelift emerged. I'd prefer it if there was no facelift and just the a new model in a couple of years. The dealers are tight lipped and deny all knowledge about a facelift, but this is really just making me think of going for another motor that isn't about to facelift. Any advise appreciated.
