Hi, is that from a Skoda dealer or are they available other places? And also, do you know what the proper name is, I can imagine the looks i'll get if I go in and ask for Yeti nipples Dez
  2. Cheers for the reply, only had the car since Dec 31st, the dealer (independent not main dealer) didn't say anything about it having been previously repaired, but then I suppose they wouldn't say anything if you couldn't tell! I'll nip it into my local Skoda main dealer on the way home, I know they've got one of those machines that tells them how thick the paint is (to see if it's original paint or a repair) as they repaired the boot on my Superb under warranty about 6 years ago
  3. Hi all, I noticed today i've got some paint peeling off near my boot, has anyone come across this? If I had to guess, i'd say someone hit the back of my car and flexed the bumper, but there's no damage to the bumper anywhere (and the layer of dirt is still intact). Maybe with the recent warm and cold weather the bumper has expanded and contracted? I don't know... Thanks, Dez
  4. I'd agree with what the others have said, if you can keep to a moderate speed and stick the cruise control on your MPG will most likely go up, through a stretch of M1 roadworks the other week cruising at 50 I averaged 65mpg, normally I average about 35-39mpg (because I don't tend to cruise along at 50). Mine's the 2.0 L&K DSG (2015), so 170bhp, since I picked it up on the 31st Dec i've done just under 4000 miles (dad was in hospital on the coast) with average consumption (over a tankfull, using the Fillup App) worst was 32.82 mpg, best was 39.28. Sounds bad, but the Mercedes ML280 I had before would never get over about 28mpg under the same conditions, I do drive the Yeti a little slower than my Merc though (just a little bit) Dez
  5. I would agree with that, and, once you focus on it once you won't be able to unsee it.... But, the benefits outweigh this though, i've got one of those long Halfords scrapers with a squeegee thing on one end, this morning, by the time i'd de-iced the side windows with the scraper, I just ran the squeegee over the front and rears and good to go! Dez
  6. Hi, do you notice any difference in handling with the bar? Thanks Dez
  7. Well, I'd wanted a Yeti when my Superb was crashed into but didn't find a nice one before I bought the ML280. I do like my ML280 and had spent a lot of money on it but it was costing me more every year (2006 with 143000 miles on the clock). So I traded it in as it needed a new EGR valve and at least 3 different sensors had issues (which could mean a new ECU) I am loving the Yeti, it is cool and funky and I am just looking into getting the emissions 'fix' removed and a stage 1 remap to bring it from 170bhp to 220bhp
  8. Well folks, almost 4 years later....I'm back!! Been driving around in a Mercedes ML280 and a Merc SLK for the past few years but just traded the ML280 in for a 15 plate Yeti (2L 170bhp L&K spec). I hope you guys are still here and your Superbs are still going strong. Dez
  9. Also, someone asked me if my alloys would fit on a 2012 Superb, would any of you guys know the answer to that? Thanks,
  10. Hi MickeyMac, Not sold yet, the ebay auction is due to finish on Sunday afternoon
  11. Hi Jimbof, It was less than i'd like, but compared to some similar mileage and spec cars on Autotrader, Exchange and Mart, etc, it was a fair price. It was a 55 plate with 130000 miles on the clock, Elegance spec, and they paid out £3060
  12. Well, If you guys have seen my other post you'll know my Superb was written off a few weeks ago, the money has come through from my insurance company, so i've stuck my spare set of alloys, multichanger and custom blinds on ebay and will be waving farewell to the Skoda Superb I forum. I'll be off to the car auctions on the 7th April to find myself something new, a Yeti is at the top of my list, or maybe even a newer Superb, but it'll be a mark II rather than another I. So I just wanted to say thanks for any advice you guys have given me over the past few years, and wish you all the best in your adventures! Au revoir! Derek
  13. Amateurs! I fitted a climbing frame like this one in my boot (well, in my whole car, the slide was 3m I think so I had to fold my front seat flat and it went from right up against the windscreen to right up against the bootlid: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tp-climbing-frame-used-/291394206807?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item43d872bc57 Also, i've fitted a whole set of alloys in it, at the same time as a bumper for my wife's Civic, oh and also my son in his booster seat!
  14. Thanks for your comments all, anyone know where a good place to get a price on a rear quarter panel would be? I've googled around but can't seem to find anywhere?
  15. Thanks guys, I was just about at a standstill and the guy behind me wouldn't have been doing more than 5 or 6 mph, I don't think my car even moved when he hit it, even though he used me as a brake! His car looked a lot worse off than mine but it was a 2014 Hyundai i40 estate so full of crumple zones etc on the front end. It's a bit of a pain having to wait for the damage report, might trying giving them a call again
