  1. An obvious yet good suggestion that I didn't think of :-) I'll try to put a lot of weight on the back seat and take a look underneath.
  2. Wouldn’t that happen regardless of whether there’s weight on the back seat?
  3. So my 2004 Fabia Combi 1.2 is making a noise, and I can't figure out what is it. It started making rattling sounds from somewhere below the backseats or the trunk. Every time the engine was working in a way that made the exhaust pipe vibrate, I could hear the rattling sound of metal hitting metal. The heat shield was a Little loose so I reattached it and had a mechanic change the exhaust (which was pretty rusty). That helped somewhat. Now when I'm driving alone or with a person on the front passenger seat there's rarely any sound. But as soon there's a little weight on the backseats, like a person or even a slightly heavy bag, the damn Rattle comes back. Not when I'm cruising, but when I'm starting from a standstill, driving in too high gear or going in reverse. The more weight the more rattle. What could it be? Is it perhaps the suspension? It doesn't seem wobbly and you'd think extra weight on the back of the car would lower both the car and the exhaust pipe.
  4. Perfect. This was just the information I needed. Gotta love the Internet and it's contributers  From where did you order it? I had no luck on eBay. Only one dealer in US, which could take a month to arrive).
  5. We moved around 30 heavy boxes full of papers plus a few duffle bags from Prague, CZ to Denmark. The guy where we picked it up, said he had a little trouble moving it in his Octavia It was pretty crowded in the car but we made it, and I even reached 150km/h on the autobahn :-)
  6. By the way, it only happens when the front right wheel is hitting a (small or large) bump on the road. Unfortunately we have a lot of potholes in Copenhagen...
  7. Did the noise stop because it has become warmer where you live, or did it just stop? Sounds like this is going to be a tough noise hunt...
  8. Well, my wife is Czech so of course it has to be Škoda  Also, delivery time for the up! were ridiculous and I dislike the glass tailgate. Seat didn't offer cruise control.
  9. It's not the glove box, we tried both holding it shut and keeping it open to no avail. It could perhaps somehow be related to the cold weather, but it doesn't stop when the car is warm and it's also been pretty cold before it started.
  10. Recently our Citigo started making an annoying rattle and squeaky-like sound from the passenger side. It's not deafening and it can be drowned out by the radio, but it's loud enough to drive me insane :( The sound is very hard to pinpoint. It's probably coming from the passenger door or from inside the panel on the right side (driver's side is on the left). I'm thinking about taking it to the dealer but that's always a hassle and I'm uncertain if the issue is to "small" to be covered by the warranty. It certainly is a large enough issue to kill the joy of driving.
  11. In my experience rash decisions always end baad, but this will most likely turn out to be the exception that confirms the rule. Citigo is an awesome little car
  12. The Citigo can contain 35l of gasoline. Considering that you need to keep some gas in the car in order not to damage the engine and to make the drive back and forward, let’s say you can transport 30l per trip. That's 0,46GBP * 30 = 13,8GBP per trip not including depreciation, wear & tear and gas usage. It won't be worth the effort.
  13. Yesterday I saw the first Citigo besides our own: a young guy driving just behind me in a white version (like ours). He was grinning all over his face
  14. Perhaps it's because you don't pay our astronomical registration taxes. I love our Citigo but we'd have bought an Octavia or Superb if not for the 200 % tax rate.
  15. Yep, it feels as large as our old Vectra C but it's an optical illusion, and that's a good thing I'd say
  16. Agree with Crista, all cars need the fan on on cold mornings. Condensation is caused by your warm body and breath entering a cold car in cold sourroundings. Nothing to be done about that.
  17. I have the same, it's probably from the suction cups they use to place the windshield. I haven't tried yet but assume it should be quite easy to remove.
  18. I've seen a few of those but only for pedestrians. It's a very good idea. I don't want the traffic light to have any direct control over my vehicle, though.
  19. Not sure but probably 100-120kg. The little engine has no problem carrying the two of us but I do feel a little pull to his side. It's not much but it's there. 30 stones is 190kg? That's one big guy.
  20. That's what bothers me a bit Often it's obvious what will happen but on other times it's impossible to know - especially when driving to work during rush hour.
  21. We test drove the i10. A top-spec i10 1.25 is cheaper than a Citigo SE w/o extras (at least in Denmark), but it's a horrible driving experience. The clutch crosspoint is tiny, seats are terrible and road noise is unacceptable from 60-70km/h. The experience was so bad that I almost lost faith in all city cars and we contemplated buying a much larger car. But we went to try the Citigo anyway and what a difference from the i10 It was almost as nice as our Opel (Vauxhall) Vectra C except for the smaller boot and inability to pull a trailer. Take the i10 for a test drive if you want, I guarantee you'll find the Citigo to be light-years ahead in terms of comfort.
  22. That's wierd. I reverse out of the parking spot every morning and the rear wiper works just fine.
  23. Your weight could perhaps explain something. At around 75kg I'm not shaking the car that much either, but I can clearly feel it moving when my much larger brother enters.
  24. I've not yet experienced any water issues. It's possible there has been a little unnoticed dripping but not anything near the floods described by others.
  25. The heaters can heat up the car pretty effectively in my experience. Heated seats are nice but you don't need them.
