  1. its just frustrating, that the garage that has carried out the repairs had suppose to of replaced the loom and when it has been back in 4 times for the same fault they claimed to have stripped the boot and checked all the wires!! but i think i can see a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel now!! as for the Sharan on your maxidot supurbia, i have no idea?? have you tried re tuning it to see if you can get BBC1?
  2. Hi Guys/Girls. just got my car back from Skoda regarding the light fault. this is just a quick post as i don't have much time, if anyone needs a more detailed explanation i will be happy to do so. long story short, its broken wires between the boot lid and the glass in the twin door. see piccys below
  3. just a thought, as I don't have my car here ATM, dose anyone know if the light cluster has a direct earth feed (in the loom) or dose it take it from the boot lid? just a thought, maybe that could be part of it?
  4. I was wondering if it was the type of bulb I was using, maybe the resistance on the generic bulbs I had got from my local motor factors is lower than the Skoda bulbs?? but again that would not explain the wrong side being reported. Mart Vrs, this has only started happening to my car since the lower section of the twindoor has been replaced after I was rear ended in February, I assumed that the repair centre had wired the boot incorrect but they have stripped it down and assured me that the loom can only be plugged in one way and that its all fine. the repair centre currently have my car and they are investigating it as I type this. I came on here to see if anyone has had the same problem and if there was a known repair for it, as this has been going on since February!! as it stands I think maybe the reverse bulbs need to be from a skoda dealer to stop the reports of a faulty bulb, but as for the wrong bulb being reported I have no idea????? thanks for your input guys I will let you know what the problem is, if I ever find out.
  5. Hi Sorry to drag up an old thread, did you get anywhere with this? i am having a similar problem with my reverse lights, the MFD is saying its the left bulb that is blown when its the right that is not working and vice versa. when i check thebulbs on a bulb tester they are working fine. if i put that bulb back in the cluster it came from it still wont work, however if switch the 2 bulbs over they both work! if this was happening once a year i wouldn't mind but its happening almost once a week! thanks in advance

  7. just an update, i have just got back from the skoda approved body shop, they have taken paint depth readings and confirmed that it is not overspray from a bad repair (it turns out this was the reason for the depth readings) the chap also said "did you expect to buy a car and never get stone chips" he also confirmed that it is more than likely that it is an aerofoil drawing debris into the bumper as he has seen this a lot, especially in the new Mercedes as they have 2 dips on the bonnet and the centre of the 2 dips gets peppered because of the aerofoil they create. and a lot of new cars suffer from this because of the aerodynamic design. my response was that does not make it rite. anyways thats the update so far
  8. hi sorry for the delay in my reply. the car is driven on normal roads and motorways. i don't recall ever driving on gravel. i have however just been to a skoda approved body shop to have paint depth reading taken to make sure its not over spray from a bad repair. and the chap there looked me square in the eye and said "you didnt expect to buy a car and never get stone chips did you" my reply was if i did i would be also complaining about the hand full of chips on the bonnet! looking at the other photos it would seem that it is bad paint as richf's still lookes fantastic after 50k and there is nothing else anywhere online about this problem. fingers crossed and i will have to wait and see the outcome
  9. Hi ddyer79, i think the white on the mud flaps is where i have not removed the polish 100% i have tried to polish it out and i did try some G20 in a very small area and it made no difference :( also when the damage is wet it is very difficult to see. i think one of the images has a drip of water running down it that kinda shows that?? its as if the lacquer has been removed. the best way i can describe it is like a frosted window, when you wet a frosted window it becomes more transparent if that makes sense??? i have not tried a clay bar yet but when it goes to the paint specialist for depth checks if it is white paint i am sure they will let me know and i can go back to my hole all embarrassed for kicking up a fuss lol
  10. Sorry to resurect an old post. i think the mudflaps are a very bad design and would not recomend them at all! take a look at the images this is on all 4 corners of the car and i am currently trying to get skodat to repair this. the car is a 59 plate (november) and has done 30k just my 2 pence
  11. thanks for the replys guys, i will keep you updated on the outcome. i dont understand how the dealer couldnt manage to get photos of the damage to send to skoda, they had me sit and wait for 2 hours whilst they tried. they come back to me and said that the engineer has tried to get images but couldnt see any damage!!!! it was only when i took the engineer to my car (that had not even been moved) and pointed to the damage he said it just looked dirty! ill let you know how i get on
  12. Hi Guys and Gals, i am new here, in fact this is my first post! i have browsed the forums for ages but it is only now i feel i need to ask advice/share my story as i cannot find anything about it anywhere on the net. they say a photo says a thousand words so i have about 1 million words coming up in photo format. i have noticed this damage on my rear bumper and front sills and doors and it seem to be coming from debris/salt from the road and for want to a better phrase sandblasting the paint from my car! the car is still under warranty and i am currently trying to get Skoda to acknowledge that is it an issue, hence the photos i have to send to them. i have had to take my own photos as the dealer was next to useless and couldn't manage to capture the damage on their camera. the current status of the situation is i am awaiting a paint depth reading to determine if they will repair it under warranty or not. my argument is it looks awful and even if the paint passes their depth checks it looks awful and should be repaired anyway. when the car was new it had the care pack option this included mud flaps, rubber mats, and paint protection amongst other things. it looks to me like the mud flaps are creating an aerofoil causing a vortex to pull debris towards the cars body, but that's just my thoughts. i would love to hear yours. i should add that the car is a 59 plate (november 2009) and had done 30k thanks for looking
