  1. i wouldnt waste your money with springs ! the seem cheap but are a ****** to fit ! KW are currently producing performance coilover kits for (unconfirmed) around £650 to £1200 they seem exspensive but jesus they will make a difference !!
  2. so bored of people trying to compare the mk3, to bmw's and volvos and all sorts of other crap! the reasons people buy a VRS octy is because.... 1) its quick enought for most people 2)it doesnt cost a bomb "for the size and quailty" 3)its bloody useful in both estate and hatch form 4) and its not a mundain bmw or audi or golf or anything else that makes you want to jump of a bridge everytime some mentions they have bought one to make them sound important ! who cares if its got some annoying features or differences compared to the mk2 or another car it has enought in the design to differ it from the rest. without being shouty and in your face! and thats why people love this car !
  3. estate or hatch ? not too convinced on the estate !! and colour ? green or white with black pack and anthracite wheels !? HELP ORDERING THE CAR ON THE 26TH!!!
  4. ive actually got a different finance offer that i took a picture from my phone at good wood ! same car less deposit.. bigger GFV
  5. estates are coming first but i keep thinking of the finance offer currently, if i get the hatch, that leaves my budget open to get all of the options which sounds rather epic to me !! and that meteor grey is awesome ! ...........marmite i know but i really like it !
  6. the esate in goodwoods main stand at goodwood had 19" wheels fitted which is only available as a dealer option ! they are £250 each plus tyres plus fitting !!!!!
  7. i couldnt agree more , the dunlops were **** ! fecked after 7k ! and completly squidgy piles of dog turd on my rims !........gone p zero pirellis and have had very much improved traction and handling in both cold wet and hot dry climate .................... luckily there not F1 spec tyres ..hahaha !!
  8. havent had any issues with mine ,, the only thing i have noticed after 12,500 miles is a slight wobble feeling in reverse sometimes and a little bit of judder when idling sometimes ! but no failures or really bigt issues or problems !
  9. to make myself level in the finance i would owe £1100 currently
  10. my fabia is currently averaging 21.4 mpg if im lucky ! it has been sitting at 18mpg recently if i drive her really carefully sometimes she does 27 mpg but no gains over that and im doing 150miles almost every 2-3 days so 60 quid in a tank is only getting me through 4 days if that, my mum has a yeti 2.0tdi 110bhp diesel and ive been driving that recently and averaging 50+ mpg and its being doing 2 weeks with a £70 fill up , i dont want to lose a sporty car so a octy vrs diesel sounds a good idea if i can do 7-10 days each fill up ile be much happier because at the minute a fill up every couple of days is not making me feel perticularly good about driving the car i may bite the bullet and get into a car thats going to help me out a little rather than kick me in the balls everyweeek .... ive learnt my lesson on financing tho !!
  11. hey guys and gals, bought my vrs in december 2012 on a three year pcp (10,000miles a year) my car was £15,800 and i paid the maximum 30% deposit as i wanted to make my monthlys tiny (sub £220 PM) ive got this far down the line and ive done 12,500 miles ! i really want a diesel car now preferably the new octy vrs tdi as my circumstances have changed and im really plowing up the miles and petrol is easily costing me £250 A MONTH!!! i want to do the same on a new octy ! max deposit and small monthlys ..........BUT my settlement figure is 11,000 to buy the car outright .....i dont have that cash lying around !! the cars not mine its obviously still skodas (under finance ) so i cant use that as deposit ! bank loan is exspensive to pay monthly even on low rate loans so thats not helpfull either and handing the car back will leave me with milage fees and back to square one ! has anyone had similar circumstances or dilemmas and does anyone have and tips or suggestions ? thanks Ryan
  12. havent had any dsg issues with my 7spd box ! loving it ! 15k so far no issues
  13. the new octy is going to have the same level of standard equipment as the golf ! its cheaper because the cost of manufacturing is cheaper in CZ than germany hence why vw build alot of there engines in poland ! so to pay for a "GERMAN" car ...people pay more just for the fact its a" pure German" car !! even tho skoda in cz build there cars to the same quality and standards as the veedubs... so there is where the magic happens with skodas !
  14. but VW even being the owners of skoda are **** for service the moment you walk through the door to buy a car from them ive been to three seperate vw dealers in my area and have had the same response all round ! ... i also hate going to car shows and finding a million old golfs sitting outside with the usual brand snobbery ! as far as im concerned VW can shove there 10% up there arse !
  15. i couldnt care what it costs ! 23k starting and shy of 25k i still think is a bargain for a car with this kind of refinement !! the reason is you dont buy a golf is because you always go for the under dog ! the new golf starts at 25k for a basic gti 3 door but by the time youve added sat nav and paint and maybe a 5th door you pay 27k ON THE ROAD !! for a hatchback! regardless if its the best handling, perfect ideal of a performance car but theres no crapper feeling shedding out that amount of money,to have crap service, crap aftercare and even worse you have to pay for all that !! Save yourseleves money and wait for this octy , its going to be one of the best cars on the road for the sub 30k mark !
