  1. Hello Taxi_G, I have not had to drive the car in an snow but I have in -4 conditions. I have not had to encounter any difficulties so far. Still very happy with the tyres, I feel confident with them.
  2. Can not understand why you did all that stuff to then sell it?
  3. I can not understand why you would want to start pimping your car up? I think you need to consider why you bought this car in the first place. It is a great car, but just enjoy it as it is. Don't go making it look like a dickheads car.
  4. I have Michelin All Climate tyres on my Roomster. I live in Hamshire, I think this is all that is needed in this part of the UK. There is not sufficient snow to need any thing else. Looking at the research on the Michelin website, these tyres will be sufficient in most parts of the UK.
  5. I have a set of Crossclimate tyres on my Roomster for several months now. I am very happy with them. They are quieter, I get better economy and improved grip in both the wet and dry. Will be interesting to see how they cope in the snow (if we get some).
  6. I don't really like the: what is the best bike? or who is the best rider ever? I think there are many fantasticly talented riders, but to say who the best is not possible. I am a big Rossi fan, he maybe the best rider of this era but to say he is the greatest of all time I don't think is that simple as it is all relative. Hailwood was an amazing racer and could jump on anything and still race it and win. But Hailwood did not have the technical ability to set up a motorbike. Of course one can not discount John Surtees or Geoff Duke. Some say Kenny Roberts was one of the greats, but equally impressive was Freddie Spencer. Lawson was a very smooth racer, like Lorenzo, but he was equally as boring to what.
  7. I think we need to get formal notification from Skoda UK, before we can believe that the new Roomster will not come to the UK. It will be a sad lose if we are to loose it.
  8. Hi Paully, yes they are the best tyre I have ever had. I have been driving for over 30 years.
  9. I have had the Crossclimate tyres fitted to my Roomster since later May. I have to say they are excellent in both the dry and the wet. They are both quiet and very stable. My car is the Roomster 3, I did not like the ride of the 16 wheels on the bumpy roads of North Hampshire and Surrey, and so have put on 15 wheels. From the evidence show by Michelin, they should be good enough for the winter conditions in Great Britan. I would highly recommend these tyres!
  10. I can not understand why you want to fill up to the top, you just add weight and then reduce MPG any way!
  11. I have fitted Michelin CrossClimate tyres to my Roomster, these are a new tyre that is based on a summer tyre. True I have note used these in the winter yet, but on both dry and wet road they do not slide at all! On the motor way they there are very stable at speed. Plus have been getting good mpg also. Looking at the evidence on the Internet on tests they have done in snowy weather, these tyres will be perfect for British summertime. Please check this out.
  12. How Does the ride feel over the typical English pothole roads?
  13. I want to put LED side lights on my Roomster, I don't want ones that will cause any errors. What do others use? Thanks, Hugh
  14. If you have a 1.6 tdi and you do a lot of motorway driving, then I would not change to a 1.2 tsi 105. You will not get the same MPG on motorways. I under stand your concern regarding emissions, if you were driving around the town most of the time but as your spending more time on motorways then your revs will be lower and will not be causing so much exhaust fumes. I wonder how much of this concern is Goverment hype? Most of the German car manufactures appear to be continuing with a advancement, if this was causing so much harm then I am sure they would be going down the route of producing a hybrid petrol engine rather then diesel.
  15. Sorry, yes the Cross Climate tyres are 195/ 55 15. So far they are very good, very stable, good grip with low road noise.
  16. I have just fitted a pair of Michelin Cross Climate tyres 155/55 15. I have gone for these tyres (only put one the Market in May) as they appear to be based on a summer tyre that has been adapted to use all the year round (read the reviews seem very good). Previously I had 205/45 16, but I could not get these tyres on this size rim as they have not been made yet. Plus roads are poor around the Hampshire/ Surrey area and thing 15 will absorb the bumps more. The only concern I have is that the brake caliper is very close to the wheel, it does not touch but very close (15 wheels came off a Fabia) Has any one else come across this?
  17. Why would you want to fit a bigger size? It would look out of balance for a show car!
  18. I have 205/45/16 on my Roomster 3. I am wonder if I changed to 195/55/15 I would get a more comfortable ride on roads with pot holes etc with out loosing the handling of the 205/45/16 ? This is not something I am considering for winter only but all year round. Looking at the above comments many talking about winter tyres. I see in May 2015 Michelin are bringing out a new tyre called: Cross Climate. There is a review of this on Honest John, appears very positive.
  19. Richard - Who did your remap ? What was your average mpg before? How much did the remap cost? Thanks, Hugh
  20. The quickest way is to start the engine, turn heater on windscreen and pour WARM water on to the windscreen, it will not crack if warm (mine never has anyway). AC is an expensive way to heat a car, will use more energy and as such cost more to run.
  21. The only concern is if they are 18" the UK roads will be to harsh for them. Actually I think they are 17" and the roads may still be to harsh for them!
  22. Years ago I had a Morris Minor Van, my sister made me a cake in the shape of the fan, was such a nice gesture!
  23. The fuller the fuel tank, the more weight your adding and so in theory the less MPG you will be getting. I suppose the amount of fuel in the tank depends how far you are going. If your only going short distances, then why fill the tank up all the time?
  24. Looks great, I am not usually a fan of white cars, but it looks good with the black sun roof! I live in North Hampshire, but work in Surrey so will keep an eye out for you! Good luck!!!
