  1. Thanks for the replies, will keep you all posted if it doesn't attract any interest...
  2. Bump, and note to say any offers considered It's from a vRS by the way. Collection from Chester/North Wales.
  3. Mk 1 Fabia dashboard panels and centre console - as pictured. Good condition. £99 ono. Available to collect from Chester. I will be travelling north shortly, so may be able to help with delivery too.
  4. Thanks to all those interested, but I am pleased to say it has now found a new home to a Forum member :-)
  5. I promised to let Yaris view it first, tomorrow night, but I'll update this thread and be in touch with other interested folk if it's still available.
  6. Thanks for the kind words. Just been busy cleaning the leather with Dr Leather wipes and the lovely smell of Poorboy's Natty's Paste Wax - yum!
  7. I'll certainly let you know, and thanks again for your interest.
  8. Hi OnTheWay I've got a viewing on Friday, but if it doesn't sell then I'm also intending to be in Birmingham next week - a bit closer! I'll update this thread if it sells but otherwise I'm sure we can work something out - I personally think it would be worth the travelling to see it :-)
  9. Of course! Feel free to use PM for the specifics. If you need any more info or pics in the meantime just let me know.
  10. Hmm, near Inverness - I'm in Orkney and on my way down at the end of next week. The records show it's the original DMF, but it still runs really sweetly with no funny effects or noises whatsoever - do they always fail at a certain mileage? I must admit, I've never had to change a clutch or DMF on any of the diesel cars owned as I try to drive them sympathetically at all times :-)
  11. Skoda Fabia vRS 2004, 89,000 miles. £3500 ono. Much loved and cherished example of this original vRS model, with the punchy but frugal 1.9 TDI PD engine. It’s a 2004 model in brilliant silver. Upgrades include full nappa leather seats and door cards, by Seat Surgeons of York. This is premium leather, apparently from the same supplier Aston Martin use for their leather, and not to be confused with the regular leather. It also has the Skoda sat nav, with original DVD disc. It has rear parking sensors and cruise control, as well as an input for an mp3 player or other audio. I have an extensive history file, including a detailed list of work done by the previous owner, who had the car for 7 years - he'd bought it from a Skoda dealer, after the original owner, an elderly gent, decided it was too fast for him and traded it in after a year! I bought the car from Listers Skoda and have had the car two and a half years. I have a record of all the services done with Skoda and independent garages, with just the last service being done by myself in November last year, using quality parts and the correct oil. I have the two remote fob keys. It’s got a full service history, and the timing belt was done done at 48000 miles and again as part of Lister's pre sale preparation in May 2012. I have got an extensive list of service work and replacement parts over the years, including a letter from the previous owner, detailing all the work done under his ownership. The alloys have been professionally refurbed and the leaking door fix applied previously, as well as the rear spoiler repainted and some paint work to the sills. The aircon still blows nice and cold, and has not needed regassing during my ownership. It’s fitted with Avon tyres with 4mm of tread. I have just put a fresh MOT on it, so the new buyer doesn't have to worry about getting that sorted for another 12 months. It also benefits from a lower road tax rate of just £145 per annum. I would describe the condition as very good. Any signs of wear are modest, and it really stands out as being in remarkably clean condition. There is one tiny mark on the nearside rear door caused when a paintless dent removal of a car park dink failed. There are a few stone chips which have been touched up. There are a few scratches to the leather on the rear seat. Everything works as it should, and there are no warning lights. The cherished number shown is not included and will revert back to the original registration. The car is available to view in the Chester/North Wales area from the end of next week - in the meantime I am happy to provide more pics or information as required. I am after a VW Caravelle, Transporter/Shuttle, Multivan or Mercedes Viano, so would be happy to consider a trade against these, with cash as required.
  12. Thanks for the info - I've circled the location I think you mean, in another attachment - is that correct? Cheers
  13. Can anyone tell me where this sensor is located in my vRS engine bay? I've done a search, and the only post that discusses it in depth contains a few red herrings and a link to an article on a mod, but the pics don't show up anymore. I've seen reference to it being of steel rather than plastic, and there is a circular device attached to the bulkhead, but don't know whether that's it. I've also seen reference to it being off the tandem pump - is that the pump attached to the right hand side of the engine? On a dark, cold winter's day nothing's obvious! I've attached a pic of my engine in case it helps. Thanks!
  14. I thought I was being savvy by saving a few bob and getting the ECP filter, but it is indeed too big! I ended up buying the filter from my local VW dealer - for an absolute rip off £17! Now I know why people get the cheap ones to fit...
  15. Thanks for all the suggestions folks - some good inspiration there. I also like the idea of leather, and definitely like the black gloss air vents. Funnily enough, I was in a friend's Roomster yesterday, and that had exactly the lighter grey colouring to the parts I was interested in changing. I'll let you know how the mods go...
  16. I'm pondering on freshening up my vRS interior and wanted to canvass opinion on ways to lighten up the current rather plain appearance... Luckily, I already have the most wonderful nappa leather seats fitted in a 'tasteful' light/dark grey, so I want to co-ordinate these colours into the facelift. Here's the current interior. I was thinking of spraying the bottom half of the dashboard in a lighter shade of grey, perhaps using something like plastidip? As well as the lower dash I think it will be good to also change the central storage binnacle colour, which holds the cupholder and gear stick etc. As a finishing touch, I like the idea of giving the air vents a glossy black finish too. I've got the replacement sections off another vRS, so it's not the end of the world if it ends in failure and I have to refit the old bits back! Any further thoughts or suggestions welcome - I hope to take pictures and put the results up back here.
  17. Another big thumbs up for cruise control Had mine expertly fitted by Tech1e last week, and it really transforms long journeys. It's not always the most economical way to travel long distances as the constant automatic throttle adjustments can be thirstier than a steady right foot...
  18. Prices vary a lot for sure... I recent paid £5.5k for my 74k '04 vRS! I was well aware of the great value cheaper ones, but I wanted leather - there are no cheap vRS's with leather. I also wanted one with a good warranty, and that had been properly prepared. Mine is in really lovely nick, with £1200 of work to bring it up to Skoda used approved standards. At one point I was going to buy a cheap one for around £2500, and tidy it up over time, but having had the recent hassle and expense of our current cars going wrong, I decided I would get a good one instead.
  19. Just for your information, when I was recently looking for a car I was quite open to a sporty little yellow number! However, when I 'reasoned' with the sales manager of a Skoda main dealer on comparing Fabia vRS prices, he stated that both yellow and red were immediately marked down by at least £500...so a good chance of getting a bargain perhaps?
  20. Thanks for the welcomes... Here are a few pics from the dealer listing. As you can see, it's got rear parking sensors too. If anyone knows the car do let me know! C
  21. Hi folks Just a quick hello from a new member. I bought the silver Fabia vRS Mk 1 at Listers in Coventry recently, taking delivery in a few weeks' time :-) I'm hoping to diy retrofit cruise control so I'll be researching that shortly. It comes with leather seats and factory sat nav - the seats really transform the car and persuaded me it was worth the premium.. I've driven a few Fabia vRS Mk 1 examples, and they all felt different. I certainly noticed more punch and thrust from a facelift model, that was unfortunately quite a tatty example. The Listers one is very tidy - not mint by any means - but it's apparently had a good amount of recent work to bring it up to Skoda's approved used standard. Quite tempted with a remap, but we'll see how much fun I can have in standard tune for now! Pics to follow once I get it...
