A grey vrs is for sale not far from me it looks to have been owned by an enthusiast so I was wondering if the last owner was on here, It's reg number is WN10 NGJ and it's for sale in Newcastle upon tyne. Not bothered that it's done 125000 miles I just want to ask if the camchain tensioner has been replaced. Cheers

We bought ours at the end of the pcp, we owed £3900 on it (14plate elegance 21000 miles). I looked around at what else we could buy and at new pcp deals but our car has never once let us down and the wife loves the heated seats, we'll keep it now till we either win some money or the mortgage is finished (5 years) then give it to our daughter.

Doubt withb2din to octavia 2005
Dazzle daz replied to Nosidefcp's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
More than likely this will fit, you may need the Columbus surround for it but the big problem is you will need the canbus controller updating on your car or you will suffer battery drain. -

Steering angle sensor?
Dazzle daz replied to Dazzle daz's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Big thanks to Nikonite for the free sensor, it was fitted today and has sorted the problem, my original one was the same as nick74's, my mechanic asked me if I had spilt some sort of fluid or grease as it was all over the sensor. He dried everything and fitted the new sensor and its good as new again. -
Steering angle sensor?
Dazzle daz replied to Dazzle daz's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Thanks for the offer I will gladly take it off your hands in exchange for some beer tokens if it is the right part number. -
Hi I am having occasional problems when turning right, steering feels weird and the yellow steering wheel light and abs/tyre pressure lights are illuminated, done a scan with a hand held vagscanner and its saying steering wheel angle sensor is the problem. Without stripping the air bag and wheel off to find the part number does anyone know what the number is? I have seen some used sensors on ebay but not sure which one to order. Car is a 2006 vRS estate. Cheers, Daren

How much is that deal costing you please?

Uniroyal rainsport 3 just fitted to mine, £61 each delivered from camskill, fitted and balanced at local tyre centre £9 per tyre, £140 all in for the front.

Check cam belt changes have been done, it should of had 2 by now, look for rust on the sills behind the front wheel and make sure on the test drive none of the warning lights on the dash are lit.

It's a grand too expensive, they are holding their money but its still almost 8 years old and nearly 100,000 miles on the clock.

Had the timing belt and water pump done yesterday at the garage mentioned in my last post, over the moon with the service and price, when I dropped it off I asked how much a new diverter valve would be as the car is on 92000 miles now and has been remapped in the last 6 months, he said he would fit a new one and only charge for the part (£33). So all in for belt kit, water pump and diverter valve it was £333, I asked how the old belt and pump looked and he had them on a tray in the garage for me to see, they still looked in good condition, although they were 4 years old they only had 39000 miles on them, I will be back later in the year for a full service £180 including genuine parts.
