  1. http://dooka.co.uk/siramik-sc15-glasscoat Cheers mate, no its not a trade name, it seems that not many people have heard of this brand which is a shame, should rely try it out as it very good.
  2. Sorry forgot to mention cartec diamond cut 3000 compound and scholl s3 gold xxl for and scholl s40 for refining wad used. Thanks Sean.
  3. Hi guys, I been away for a while but back now and I now own a 2011 octavia vrs in race blue after owning mk1 fabia vrs se and mk2 fabia vrs, well I fancied going down the route of coating my new car rather then waxing like I always have done. So I have tried loads of coatings but the one that I really enjoyed the most was the siramik coating so ordered a kit from dooka. Anyways I don't have any before pictures of my car but believe me I don't think it had seen a Polish in along time just the usual heavy swirls and dull paint really, so I did the usual wash routine followed by a full decontamination using autosmart red 7, bilt hamber clay bar and autosmart tardis, then set on to checking the paint depth around the car which all came back healthy which is always a good start. So I used a mixture of cartec Polish pads and chemical guys hexlogic pads on my rupes mk2 lhr 15 for the most of the car and my shinemate ep803k rotary for the more annoying areas. Which left the panels like this looking much sharper. I then used a ipa between all polish sets and applied the siramik prime via a white hex pad and the gloss from this stuff is something else, defenetly using this again, followed by two layers of siramik sc15 with a layer of siramik sc mist which just boosts the gloss unbelievably, and of course and final wipe down with the mist. Windows sealed with am details rain and tyres dressed with two coats of megs endurance. Which left this whike curing over night. Not the best pictures but you get an idea of the gloss etc. And a couple of poor full car pictures outside. This took me best part of 4 days in between dad duties etc but worth it as this morning it was raining. . I do have a little video of the car which really captures how well this came out but can't seem to upload I will try though, but if anyone is thinking of trying a ceramic coating then I would recommend looking at siramik. The gloss and water behaviour so far have been second to none and it's really user friendly, one of the easiest I have ever used not at all fussy. Thanks for reading guys. Sean.
  4. That's good to know thanks. I'm looking at going fairly low, I don't think springs will be enough, unless you have any recommendations
  5. Thanks for the replies, the ride is really nice a little bit firm but I prefer that, compared to the others I test drove, but the ride height is still standard that's why I found it strange usually if upgrading shocks you would have put lowering springs on too.
  6. Hi all new to the octy part of the forum but not briskoda previously had fabias, but I have just purchased a 2011 race blue vrs dsg and noticed today it had bilstein shocks on it, as far as I'm aware it's a untouched example so wondered if this was normal, either way I'm after going down the coilover route and was wondering what was a good balance of price, comfort and quality. I should say I will be swapping wheels for 19s too. What are your recommendations, I was thinking of ap but also what are the budget offerings like, I won't be using car for track only road use. Any help appreciated thanks.
  7. Hi, been away from skoda for a while now, used to have mk1 fabia vrs se and mk2 fabia vrs, but. Ow back in a skoda but a 2011 octavia vrs and loving it so far, so just a quick hello.
  8. Glad you liked it mate as said so easy to use which is a bonus.
  9. As for a Polish type product that don't affect trims Etc try using autosmart topaz, it don't have any cut or filling capabilities but is great as topper to say your "one step" s20 compound, plus it's like a Polish/glaze/sealant/wax in one, i have been using this alot lately and am very impressed, excellent beading great gloss and don't leave the normal residue on black trims etc, give it a go I think you will like it.
  10. Cheers ste. Rather happy with her
  11. Cheers pal, falling back in love with it again, thought about selling up but when I see her like this it changes my mind.
  12. Got round to cleaning the vrs properly today usual method kkd foam, britemax shampoo, red 7 autosmart tardis and a clay. Hit it with my new favourites scholl s17 and s40 with chemical guys hexlogic pads, sealed with chemical guys jetseal and a layer of autofinnese essence and britemax vantage, pretty happy with how she turned it.
  13. Another here for kkd tutti frutti snowfoam
