  1. first thing to do would be change the fuel filter it might be blocked. as far as fuel addatives go i have always used mineral atf fluid (remove the feed&return from the fuel pump and connect two pipes in there place and the other ends in the atf bottle start the car and run for 20mins or until the atf has nearly run out).
  2. the light coming on and going off is the system self testing so all sounds fine the brake jump you describe is the abs kicking in due to hard braking again all fine hth.
  3. i think the problem might be a spring or maybe a plastig lug hat has worn, can i get access to this part of the mechanism to check or is a sealed unit thanks.
  4. I managed to get one from local motor factors for £48 inc vat so not to bad.
  5. £50 plus vat,i can get a rear one cheaper from £5 to £20. i cant understand the price difference, surely the only difference is the cable lengh.
  6. I have got a 1.9d felicia engine code AEF. will a front sensor from any other vw or skoda fit cheers.
  7. Cheers that is what i wanted to hear. thanks for all the other replies sorry if i offended anyone with my grammer.
  8. My car has got abs, i cant find a 1.9d hub with abs, will a hub from a 1.6 with abs fit (driveshaft splines).
  9. i need to change my front off side hub are all 1.9d felicia fitted with abs mine is just want to get the right hub first cheers.
  10. i fitted a universal soket today and to get round the hole diameter difference i used some of that plastic which comes in tiny balls that go pliable when put in hot water by the the way i got the lighter socket out without removeing any of the dash surround i just removed the ashtray and with the persuation of a screw driver and a bit of pulling on the socket ot came out with no damage to anything.
  11. in my felicia the socket has broke up and skoda have discontinued them,im going to install a universal socket, on the original power plug supplying the power there are three spade terminals are these( one live for the lighter socket one earth and one live from the lights to illuminate the lighter socketwhen the sidelights are turned on)thanks nigel.
  12. if the fuel pump is a lucas which is on my 1.9d felly esate it will not run on veg but if its bosch it will be fine the lucas will run on biodiesel however hth.
  13. when you get the parts could you post pics of them with the part number please.
  14. sounds like the headgasket has gone take it to a local garage and get a sniffer test done .
  15. it could be that the headgasket as failed on one of the exhaust ports which pressurises the system and the coolant cap is venting the pressure when it gets to its release presure psi, i would get the head tested because if the above is happening you wont see mayonaise as such in the water or oil.
  16. when i applied for one i was refused by the manager so what i did when i bought parts from a motor factors i told them to put my initials and motor repiars on the reciept along with my home address and when i had about three invoices i tried again and got one from the same manager that refused me hth.
  17. i didnt have a primer bulb to suck my fuel through the pump so what i did was get someone to turn the car over in sort bursts while i opened the bleed nipple on the pump (8mm spanner)until no bubbles came then tighten it up and try to start the car if it doesnt fire up then you will have to bleed the injectors to do this i cracked the injector unions off (17mm spanner)one at a time again with someone turning the car over in small bursts until there were no bubbles but to be honest if you follow the steps above filling filter ect you shouldnt have a problem.
  18. yes if clamp the small amount of air will purge just give it abit of a rev on start up then let it tick over wot i found without clamping was for some reason when you dissconected the fuel lines from filter the fuel drained back to the tank causing to much air to purge with battery never had a problem since clamping cheers nigel
  19. yes brake clamps are fine if you havnt got any use molegrips with a bit of card in the jaws filling with diesel from old filter should be ok.
  20. when i change my filter on my diesel its a bugger to start but now ive got it mastered what i do is clamp the pipes both sides of the filer(not the pipes on the control valve)then fill the filter with diesel let it soak in the filter abit then top up again until totaly full connect the pipes release the clamps and start the car i found hat by not clamping the pipes i introduced air in the system and the battery went flat trying to purge it and had to bleed the injectors hth
  21. i would change the control valve on the filter and fit a bit of clear fuel line from the filter to the injection pump then you can see if there are any air bubbles.
