  1. Hi there mate, Many thanks for your feedback. I'm going to be trying to put black gloss film on my car's interiors where there are the aluminium silver finished parts. I've read your posts and understand except for the a/c central vents garnish, everything else can be softly opened with a pry tool. Only concerned about the tacho rings behind the steering. Sorry to bother you but how to 'un-clip' the plastic surround from the IP console? Would you be able to help explain that please? Thanks in advance.. ajay K
  2. Hi 32KOFDATA, That's one amazing car and THE best Fabia I've ever seen (in India we don't have the VRS, but the 1.4 MPI, the 1.2 (petrol, non-tsi, the 1.6 (petrol) and the 1.4 TDI sold here [skoda India recently stopped producing the Fabia due to losses on the vehicle]. Your car is an inspiration for me to keep my car for a long while and perform some modifications similar to what you've done (knowing I may not be able to match up to that quality of job). I do have 2 queries though. How did you manage to get the boot level matt silver coated ring and the same matt silver coated ring on the console (tacho and speedometers) covered in Gloss black? How were you able to remove the plastic protective screen in front of the consoles and how did you apply the gloss film? All of your modifications are tasteful and examplary. Glued onto your thread. Are things like changing the climatic a/c (manual) controls to Climatronic (automatic climate control) and putting in a multi-function steering wheel also in the plans or are these kind of mods generally best stayed away from? I know putting another steering wheel is very risky and avoidable (with airbags and all involved) but want to know if the conversion to climatronic will be easy. Many thanks Ajay Karthick (India)
  3. Hi, Thanks for the info. I guessed as much, which is why I was not willing to make any attempts to open the headlight up [Have heard from a friend that his Fiat Linea's headlight didn't budge when tried to be opened]. I'll probably agree with you now about angel eyes on Fabia.. I'd seen some aftermarket headlight kit in India but the quality [with angel & demon eyes] seemed very poor. Btw, huge fan of your awesome Fabia sport and your fog lamp frame+DRLs are my fav.. Have planned to source them for my 1.4 but the cost will be a killer [almost 2+ times the price to get it to India]. Not really liking your new bonnet [just] but totally awesome car.. The best I've seen here.. And of course, your photoshop skills are terrific, treat to see your snaps. Cheers, ajay K
  4. Hiya members, Just joined a couple of days ago and new here. Got a query regarding the projector lamp shroud that comes factory fit in the 16V 1.4 MPI. Can I find the size [diameter in mm] of the front end of the shroud, the end of it where the projector glass is? I ask this because there are angel eyes that can be fit to the front end of the shroud and I'm considering one [if it would be feasible]. I'm not skilled nor daring enough to open the headlight case and measure it myself, so any help with the size [mm] information would help. TIA ajay K
  5. Hello Members, Greetings! I'm Ajay Karthick and owner of a beautiful Fabia 1.4 16V MPI that I purchased in Jan 2009. It's a wonderful car and has been serving me well since the day I've bought it. I've been sort of on and off visiting the forum when I need something for a while now and thought it would be wise to join officially, as my car is now well past the warranty period and I'm planning a few basic modifications, as I intend to keep this car for a while.. For now, I'm just attaching a pic I have handy of my Fabia being detailed at a 3M car care center in my city, but I will soon upload the photos of my Fabia, apologies for not putting them up yet. Look forward to interacitng with the knowledgeable folks here and contributing to the best I can. Cheers and best wishes, ajay Karthick
