  1. As is usual for this time of year my 5 year old battery has packed up on cue. I've got a Varta on order as recommended by other topics. I'm gonna give my current (pun intended) battery a quick charge overnight which means removing the battery will I need to get a code to restart the Columbus system at all? As on other models I've owned previously that has been the case.
  2. @Bazery, turns out it was the fuse I don't know which one but it will be in the manual ????
  3. @Numskull did you have to purchase resistors for these?
  4. Do you keep your wallet in your back pocket whilst driving? I used to got leg pain too until I started taking it out, I'm the same height/weight too
  5. Will, Having read this feed with interest myself over the last year it appears to be a bit of a lottery as to whether an "error free" bulb will actually be "error free" because the SII CANBUS system changes depending on the year/model/coding of the vehicle and it's eerily sensitive anyway. Most people either solder in resistors or get something similar to these: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/401009696161
  6. I've never heard/seen of a VRS bumper on a Superb, however SuperSkoda do a DTM style splitter that glues and screws on. http://www.superskoda.com/Skoda/SUPERB-II/Superb-II-front-bumper-DTM-spoiler
  7. Have you tried contacting them? Perhaps they have a technical solution, was any coding required?
  8. Wow 3 dogs is impressive it feels like this one barely fits in...
  9. It looks smart! Will it fit flush to the Superb dash? Some of the photos of the screen coming out beyond the dash would put me off
  10. Hullo, On point one, i couldn't say I've never been fortunate enough to have such a young motor. But I'd imagine it's just bedding in. On point 2 having driven fords/vauxhalls with stop/start this isn't unusual behaviour and I think it's to prevent battery drain
  11. Have you ever considered getting the interior bits "wrapped" not sure if it's possible but could be cheaper than a door card?
  12. In that process at the moment. The dealer thinks Europe West V9 is the latest for my model car a phone call by myself to Skoda UK gave the same result, with a part number of 3T051859M. Does anyone know the part no for V12?
  13. Thanks for your replies guys. When purchasing my car from a skoda dealer a month ago I neogotiated in a maps update to the most recent version plus the disc should I have any "booting" issues during my ownership. The disc they gave me was "Europe West V7" which going on what Rusty said isn't even close!
  14. Is Europe West version 7 the latest version? Picked up a superb a month ago and I'm starting to think I'm not running the latest version.
  15. Thanks for all the help so far. Took it to the dealership today to collect the spare tyre set they hadn't included when I bought the car and they gave it a quick once over. As suggested no power to the port, they said I'd have to come back another day to get it fixed as its a woring issue. The catch is that it's an 80 mile round trip to this dealership. As its a used approved could I pop it into my local skoda and get it fixed under warranty? Or get the dealership to arrange for it to be fixed there?
  16. Jake/Kev the contacts look ok but I have no basis for comparison, I have a photo to follow. Normal batteries work fine in the torch so it's not a torch issue. As for tow bar, again there is nothing obvious to say that it had one at any stage.
  17. Hi Jake, the filament bulb on the torch doesn't come on.
  18. Thanks for the replies! I have tried swapping around the batteries as the +/- aren't clearly marked to no avail. Normal AAAs work fine in the torch, so just charging the stock ones to see if they're ok. Will test with a multimeter at the weekend.
  19. Afternoon all, I picked up a 61 plate 170 elegance in silver (for the curious!) just over two weeks ago and the detachable boot light wasn't working. City Skoda were good enough to post another out to me as soon as it came in their end. However this doesn't work either. I figure two duff lights is too much to be a coincidence, is it likely to be a fuse/wiring/charging dock issue, has anyone had similar? Worth mentioning that the lights in the boot and rest of the car are working as they should.
  20. Will upgrading to interior LED bulbs produce a CANBUS error? If not, anyone know/recommend a good seller? Apologies if this has been covered already, I'm no wizard with the search function!
  21. Car definitely has ABS, the brake power regulator is what I want to check if it exists. Thanks for the replies.
  22. Morning, Once again the rear discs need replacing due to corrosion. And I'm told it looks like they haven't been assisting with braking at all. Does anyone know where the brake actuator/compensator is for the rear discs and what it looks like?As I'm looking to change them myself. It's a 52 octy. 110 tdi. Many thanks Mn
  23. Thanks for your suggestions charged the battery overnight and now starts no problem.
