  1. I have so far managed to keep this Saturday free in April. Hopefully will be there with the fabia this time - even MOT'd it three weeks early to keep weekend free. I'll pay on the gate and follow you in
  2. Thanks all for the replies. I found the images on my ebay history. After I pressed post I found as Wino found the pre-wired version on ebay, so ordered that as well - hopefully here next week. Once again thanks all for the reply's - I tried to find the delete topic button, but couldn't find one.
  3. My reverse lights don't work on my 05 Fabia - quite a common fault. The wires had snapped just past the connector. According to Skoda Dealer I couldn't buy just the connector, it would require an engine wiring loom to fix the problem Then I found this from Anglia Postal Parts Unfortunately it is proving a pig to put together. Would anyone have any great ideas on how to put it together ??
  4. Great day cheers all - sorry my Fabia wasn't there. See you all at the next one
  5. Slight change of plan Fabia is the misses' car. Reminded last night I was pinching her car for the day. News went down as badly as if I'd killed the cat. Unfortunately she won't drive my car. So looks like I'm Skodaless. Am I ok to bring the Hyundai Santa Fe in the Yellow gate, or shall I go hide in the general car park ?
  6. Got my ticket - cheers Jason As I'm local-ish to Combe - only half hour away. What time are we aiming to get to Combe? ?
  7. How did I manage to miss this Any chance of squeezing my Fabia on the club stand ?? Won't go out on the track
  8. Hi Brhy11 My reverse lights have failed to work, so having a go at fixing them on Sunday. I have a 2005 1.2 fabia, so I believe the majority of wiring should be the same. I have already bought a replacement switch, so will be using that to test the wiring isn't faulty. From the Haynes book of lies the reverse switch live feed in is a Black and Red wire, which comes from fuse F13 - although Black and White wire behind the fuse. The feed to the reverse lights from the switch is a Black and Blue wire. In summary your looking for a shield carrying two wires - one Black and Red, the other Black and Blue. I'll try and take some photo's on Sunday to try and help further.
  9. Recently went to London and visited the British Music Experience in the O2. Something about the exhibition sign seemed familiar: Very similar to our own 'b' don't you think
  10. Bought a 1.2 Fabia last year - really like it. I think at the time I looked at the 1.4 and 1.2 engines. From what I can remember the 1.4 engines are from skoda, the 1.2's from VW The 1.2's come in two different hp's 54 and 64 BHP. I have the more powerful 64BHP due to me doing mostly motorway driving (40 miles) each day to work. Think any car will always have some issue's somewhere with it - the worst with the Fabia is the rear door seals. After owning a Citroen - I consider that to be nothing major, at least it doesn't include the word "Fire" lol. I test drove several engined car's, both diesel and petrol. All depends on the type of driving you use the car for, and what your comfortable with.
  11. Hi Southy any update ?? My central locking kit is being delivered tomorrow - getting itchy fingers to fit it :-)
  12. My word what a topic to find. Mini's aren't hard to work on, although they are not plug and play Some good parts suppliers around, although do your homework, and work with the Mini show's There's a good one over the first bank holiday in May in Newquay Cornwall (Riviera Run) Another good one is Castle Combe at the end of September. With a Mini join a local Mini club - I'm a member of http://www.m4minis.com - you have to register to see the forum, but it's free as long as you don't want to start a topic or sell anything - other than that it's £10 for the first year and £5 after. Any parts. advice can always be found on the forums. I did the Italian Job in 2002 and 2004 - this is Italy and back in 10 days, raising funds for Children's charities - NSPCC in 2002 and NCH in 2004. Raised in excess of £5,000 overall. The event is at http://www.italianjob.com My kids then came along then, and I had to give up. I kept the Mini as a toy, running on spare change for petrol and £300 a year tax and insurance it was nice to have a fun distinctive car when the weather was nice. I had a good run - Mini finally threw me an MOT failure in 2011. I could have welded some plates in, but think I'd be chasing the rust. I was fancying a bit of a change, so now turned into two projects. Misses is fancying a 6 seat stretched limo mini. I'm fancying a fibreglass mini shell http://home.freeuk.net/tdkracing/FRA.htm with the vauxhall red top under the bonnet. Here's a random pic I found of the Mini - apologies it's not looking at it's finest
  13. I had a replacement key cut from www.carkeyhelp.co.uk Cut the key off a photo of the original for £20 - also provided the key code for £2. A friend of mine has a tuning company, so offered to have a go at coding in the key (normally £30). Unfortunately the key code turned out to be wrong. However the key does open all the locks and turns the ignition, just won't start as not coded in. I had the quotes of £130 for a key cut and coded at main dealer, or £95 from the Timpsons for my Mk1 Skoda Fabia. Was thinking of getting a key made at Timpsons, as long as they provide me with the key code - it was not in the pack I got with the car. If this is the case I'll go back to my mate for coding in the third key. Could work out £20 + £30 + £95 = £145 for two keys :-)
