I bought the polo on 50k and it’s now done just shy of 150k. I obviously aren’t aware of the cars entire history prior to purchasing it however, I’m doubtful of it being on its second turbo. - I’ll just contact the garage who’re doing the work and get the information off the turbo itself. I don’t want to purchase the wrong turbo to delay things and assumed someone on here would know for certain what the polo pd130s used. In reference to why it’s blown, I don’t know for certain. I guess having old oil in the system isn’t exactly healthy for it. - I just assumed that’s why it gave up. Would you think it’s potentially something else at fault other than old oil?
-
The oil hasn’t been changed in a long time so I’m assuming it’s that. My fault, I should have sorted it. :(
-
I would however, they won’t source a recon turbo only a new one which is £700
-
Thanks. Just need someone to clarify exactly what’s on the polos. - I should just phone the garage who’re replacing the turbo but they aren’t there on a Saturday and I said I’d source a unit.
-
No problem, thanks for trying! Here’s hoping someone will be along shortly to clarify things.
-
I’m sure I read somewhere that for whatever reason the polo pd130s received a Garrett when the Fabias had the kkk unit? Am I wrong in thinking that?
-
Hmm. Not really. I need the model number for the Garrett unit which fits the pd130 blt engine.
-
I'm just wondering if someone could confirm the model number for the turbo on a pd130? I know the engine code is BLT and that its a Garrett turbo but I need to replace it with a refurbished one as mine went pop recently. I've done a bit of research and thought it was a GT1749VA but read a few threads saying otherwise? - If I had the car with me, Id just look on the turbo but it's at the garage! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Just helping the OP, no need for you or anyone other than him to disregard my comment. Merly trying to be helpful! I agree with what you're saying, the lower fog light DRL's are a way of achieving an understated style as well as having an oem look. Obviously, as stated in my previous comment, everyone has a difference in taste and as observed, ours clearly differ as I wouldn't have anything like that on my car.

AP Shocks & Lowering Springs - Before & After

The VRS should have came out of the factory at the height. Still, too high for me though! -
Elm light, 17504 glow plug module
Poloeddy replied to maximusvrs's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
My polo has had the same code for about a year now and has caused no issues bar the eml lit. It needs a new harness (yours might just be a dodgy glow plug) but I've just not got around to sorting it. It will cause no issues what so ever, if it's starting fine then you'll be ok. 200 miles isn't a problem.. once the cars started it doesn't even use the glow plugs -
No problem. I don't know about you but driving my car the last couple of days has been thoroughly boring! I couldn't let the turbo spool up otherwise it'd come off. Still, it's not worth £120 for a 90 degree bend.. Robbing stealers :/.

In the previous thread you have I put it?? 6Q0145832C
-
Just bought one of these from the stealers today. An absolute rip off but I had to drive without it coming on boost as it'd pop off straight away. I found a company online which did a none oem one for ~£70, I didn't think it was worth the risk of it not fitting correctly and needed it quickly anyway. Good luck and hope you get it sorted! Part number for it is 6Q0145832C

Clunking when turning steering wheel
Poloeddy replied to Dann2707's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
My polo was making this exact noise and I checked everything and it all seemed ok. Ended up being the top mount, you can't tell if it's ok till you've taken it off. -
Best coilovers for fabia vrs mk1?
Poloeddy replied to Josh24VRS's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
+1 fow KW inox as they're well worth the extra money. I raised mine a couple of weeks ago and they look brand new still. -
KW V1 inox most comfy coilovers for the fabia?
Poloeddy replied to dewindoeth's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
They're a brilliant piece of kit, no denying that. Just occasionally I find them a little stiff but not bouncy or crashy.. Just harder. Plus, the only way to improve the handling is to stiffen up the suspension - which by the way, the car handles loads better than standard. Put on some good rubber and a rarb and it'll be decent enough . -
And.. Those tyres are too large for a fabia.. Ideally they need to be 205 40's but I think personally i'd go for 195's
-
To be honest, all the guy wanted to know was whether anyone on here owned it. Not whether it was at a good price.. He's obviously happy with the price if he's been and test drive it!

Saw someone in a black vrs driving along Scarborough sea front. Was sitting nice.
-
Just get kw's very very good coilovers.

I don't know why everyone gets so aggressive on this forum. On the polo forums everyone's a lot nicer and helpful. There's no point in kicking off about something which doesn't matter anyway. - they're still open, so the OP has his answer. Also, on the forums that I use for my mk2 golf gti people are so helpful, friendly and generally have nicer manors. Probably the different audience that these cars gather. -- rant over

Thanks for the reply. I'm going to dismantle one of the wing mirrors to see if I can see anything obviously wrong. I am suspecting it to be the leds but just didn't think that they'd both stop working at the same time. - on the polo, as the indicators are on the mirror, you can see them flashing whilst driving. I knew pretty much instantly that they weren't working. It's really annoying, when something goes wrong like this, I normally just search and a person has previously had the same problem but can't find anything on this :-/ thanks for the help!

Can anyone help with my polo. The side indicators which are on the wing mirrors are both not working. It's strange as the other ones work fine. I can't see them both deciding not to work at once so I'm thinking maybe a wiring problem? Any help is appreciated
