  1. If something has been wrong since the remap I'd be getting that sorted first, not chucking parts at it randomly hoping to chance upon a fix.
  2. Mine fell off 2 years ago. It's in the boot, but as the seat still does everything it should I've never replaced it.
  3. 120,000 miles, 12years old in October and still on the original exhaust.
  4. How do you operate the stereo if the cupholder is holding cups?
  5. I'd be more annoyed by the condensation in the indicator than the state of the bumper if it was my car
  6. Not for me. Carbon Fibre is meant to be a weight saving material. All you're doing is adding weight for a dubious cosmetic advantage.
  7. What Porsche? 2.7RS, 928, 944, Cayenne, Cayman, Boxster...
  8. It's a bit late for an April fools joke. You aren't really going to spend actual money on those atrocities are you?
  9. I finally found a use for my Dremel Multi Tool bought years ago to cut some mosaic tiles. It was useless for that, but it worked a treat cutting new slots in my screws so that a screw driver could engage and turn them.
  10. Probable easier and chaeaper to sell your car and buy one with the engine you want fitted. Less hassle to insure as well.
  11. My battery failed totally and instantly. I started the car, drove from my mother's house to home - about an hour. Parked the car, turned off and then decided I wanted to get it a bit closer to the kerb. Tried a restart and it was dead as a dodo. Jumped on a tube to Halfords, bought a new battery fitted it and all was well again. That was 7 years ago and my Halfords battery is still going strong.
  12. Doo yu gow ought off yor whey too mispel evry werd?
  13. My fan is seized and covered in cob webs. It's never come on in 7 years. Even in summer in Barcelona. The temp never goes above halfway. The larger fan comes on with the A/C though. I think the cooling system must be generously specified.
  14. Have you taken it for a run? New exhausts do stink the first time they get hot, burning off whatever residues they have on/within them.
  15. Brakes, I suspect the first digit will be a 2 not a 1.
  16. Rather than turbo-ing the old A Series motor why not an engine swap. Check out Minimania.com. You can fit the Honda VTec and end up with 200+BHP from one of the most reliable engines on sale today. The 5 speed gearbox is a plus too.
  17. I'm sure they would physically fit, but I'm also sure the spring rates would be very wrong. I would bet that the diesel engine weighs more than a VRS and handling would be severely affected. These are my guesses and opinions though, not fact.
  18. As you've been churning on the starter and obviously not using the car for a while, it could just be a heavy charging load on your alternator causing the belt to slip. They do screech.
  19. I'm no expert, but I'd guess that if your oil pick-up is blocked no matter what the oil level was you'd have low oil pressure and the light would be on. What you need to do really quickly, is to tell your garage to stop running your engine to see how noisy it is. All they're doing is damaging it. Change the pick-up, spin it on the starter with no plugs in to circulate some oil put the plugs back in, cross your fingers and hope.
  20. I love this forum when things like this happen. I was similarly saved when I thought I'd blown my convenience unit. All my problems were a tiny fuse.
  21. Looks pants, and is breathing warm under bonnet air instead of fresh air. Still as long as it makes a loud pttssshhh it must be good.
