  1. Mine is 2012 as well. No blisters yet, but now I became paranoid.
  2. It has a lot to do with tyres. I have michelin alpin A4 winter tyres and continental premium pro summer tyres. Driving on michelin sounds like driving an armored vehicle comparing to continentals...when I can hardly hear anything else but right front door rattling.
  3. That is far too much. I have 1.2 TSI 2012 since new. At first my consumption wasn't to my satisfaction, but as time was passing by I have learned how to drive this car. On the trip from Zagreb, Croatia (where I live) to my hometown (200 km) driving 60 km on the highway (120 km/h) and other 140 on country road with some curves(80-100 km/h) I managed driving with almost no braking at all. And it is now between 6.1 and 6.5 l/100 km. I have gps that helps me with calculating when to decrease or increase the speed in proper time with no need to use brakes. Since my consumption was too bad at first, I took this consumption issue as a challenge. City driving is a different story. We cannot affect traffic course. What can we do in rush hour but to be patient.

  5. I own yeti 1.2 TSI 2012 since new and I have never heared any rattle from the dashboard (and croatian roads aren't so perfect). No rattle, no strange noise in that area, ever.But...everything else IS rattling, creaking and grinding almost from the first day I bouhgt this car. At first each "strange sound" in my brand new car was like a knife stabbing straight to my brain. As time was passing by and I became aware that the dealer is useless, I remembered one good thing about this car -it's multimedia performance! With loud music on there is no rattle at all. My brother has a brand new suzuki jimny and it has some rattle and creaks too. Drives him crazy! A friend of mine has nissan qashqai - it rattles! Seams we have to reconcile with the fact that with this new generation of cars we may have more comfort, electronics and aesthetics than we could have with their predecessors, but for our money we get less and less quality. (Sorry about my croatian english, but hope you'll understand).
  6. Now, two years later I can inform all of you that I have solved all my rattle, creaky and grinding frustrations. Not due to my dealer, since he was of no use, but due to multimedia performance of my yeti. When music is loud I hear no rattle.
  7. I found this one for you in another topic - one about cold start issue. Ferisko 27 Feb 2012 There are two known common culprits causing this (cold start rattle, revs dancing up and down, power loss at lower revs): - old software (2010 cars?) - worn out / stretched timing chain (which for some series of the 1.2 TSI engines can start to be problematic already at around 10000km. There are even reported cases of the chain "jumping a tooth or two" which results into piston meeting with valve and engine destroyed). Visit service and make them have a look at it. Please note that some rattle during start is normal. Also the engine normally starts with higher revs (above 1200 rpm), which later drop down to around 650 idle rpm when engine is warmed up. Edited by Ferisko, 27 February 2012 - 17:41. But, as I hear, some people have this problems all day long, any time of day, not only in cold starts. By the way, besides chain replacement, a friend of mine had his software updated, as well. No problems after that.
  8. I have 1.2 TSI just about a year now. And I don't think every 1.2 has that sound. Just once, in a very cold morning I could hear some rattle somewhere in an engine area, but that was about it. And that one time it was, as I think, a chain, and as I was told, it happens in cold. Friend of mine with similar yeti, but 2010, had some rattle and it was about chain. They replaced it under a warranty. But if there is some noise, be sure it is not something each 1.2 has. 1.2 tsi has very silent engine working. Sometimes you hardly can hear it. (hope my English is understandable).
  9. Just wandered about this remaping thing (don't know a thing about it), how about it's impact on the turbine? Could this damage an engine? And what about Skoda warranty? Thanks. Regards, Jazz.
  10. Good advice. Just bought (and mounted) 4 michelin alpine A4. Very satisfied for now (in wet and dry conditions) thouhg no snow (in Croatia) yet.
  11. Being retired means you have lots of spare time and can enjoy driving around. Don't know should I envey you or warry about myself. . . seams most of yeti owners are older guys, (except me). Just joking. Best regards to all retired!
  12. I assume being too late and you have your yeti now. Anyway, I had the same choice and after a short thought decided to go for 2012. Reason 1- once you decide to sell - it does matter how old your car is, and reason 2- with 2012 I had more options in color, equipment, etc.
  13. Me again. I was even told Muscavado was 2012 color, which was a reason "not having it yet" as touch up kit. Reading Briskoda I found out about two important things: one, there was Muscavado earlier than 2012, and 2 - I'm such a donkey!
  14. There are all other touch up paint colors in Croatia, but NO Muscavado (Mato brown). My dealer said Skoda hasn't produced this one yet - No Mato in Skoda factory, strange isn't it? I had to make a spetial order by the number of my chassis. So, can someone, please, say can you find an original muscavado touch up paint kit overthere? Thanks! Jazz.
  15. Nice. Hope you enjoyed in our food and sea, but there is much more to see in Croatia. Next time ask for an advice and I'll be glad to tell you about all "must visit" places overhere. Still, happy to hear you have been here. Regards, Jazz.
