Thanks for the replies. I bought a caliper return spring but can't fit it 'cause this caliper has an anti mooing (squeal) kit fitted and I can't find the part to replace this anti mooing device which would need to be removed. Does anyone know the name and part number for this?

Hi folks, I have a 2004 VRS. My handbrake began to stick giving excessive handbrake lever travel. I looked at the in-car adjustment and sure enough the toggle was lop sided, showing that the o/s was sticking. After much WD40 on the caliper levers and adjustment in-car, the handbrake return arm is free and returns to about 2mm from the stop, but the handbrake is still binding slightly (wheel doesn't rotate freely when jacked up and after driving the hub is warm). Any ideas?

Hi, I had the same problem and eventually the door wouldn't open. I got it fixed at Glenn Harrop, VAG specialist in Stretford for £240. (New door lock mech. fitted) It was a very awkward job as the door trim has to be removed with the door locked and the seats in situ, so l advise you to get it sorted before it becomes deadlocked. Can anyone recommend a garage in the Carlisle area to fit lowering springs?

I have an '04 Fabia VRS, with a deadlocked front passenger door. The electric window works, so the door has power. The button pops up when the interior lever is pulled but the door remains locked as it does after repeated attempts with the fob. l've flooded the lock with WD40 in an attempt to chase out moisture. Any ideas, please?
