  1. Hello people, I had a similar problem my Skoda Octavia 1.9TDI. It was starting fine in the morning and it would take between 5-8 second to start once hot. I replaced the starter motor , it never cured the problem. went to the dealers and got a new Fuel Filter changed it and now the car starts the moment you turn the key. What I did do in the past few months I used Morrisions Fuel, i don't think it helps. Now Im sticking to Shell.
  2. Necessary checks and How to remove window motor when window is fully closed. Hi, I thought i'd share my knowledge here. I just worked on a 5door skoda Octavia 2003 model, I was just hearing clicking noise on the passenger side front window when i pressed the button to put the the window down, all other 3 windows worked fine. step 1- I checked all the connections and wires the were all fine. Step 2- I Removed the connector from the motor and inspect the connectors for any rust terminals. (clean terminals and no rust) If the wires and connectors are fine then your next guess is the motor. The problem is that to remove the motor you must open the metal panel which the motor is attached to. To open the panel you got to remove the two 10mm Bolts that hold the window. to remove those bolts they must be see-able from the two large rubber covers on the metal panel. The window has to come down slightly in order to remove the Bolts. How did I do mine 1) on the motor you can see 4 (star) or T25 screws- holding the silver motor with plastic housing. Remove all 4 screws using T25 star screwdriver. 2) Pull the motor out of its casing. you migh have to fiddle a little but it should come out fairly easy. 3) Once you pull the middle bit of motor (Bit with the wire winding) You should be able to push the window down with you hand. 4) if you fail to push it down with you hand what u can do is put the middle bit of motor back in and spin it with you hand while firmly pushed in. its a slow process but you should be able to wind the window down like that. I hope this helps. I'm sorry for any mistakes , it's pretty late for me had a long day fixing my house.
