  1. Hi Gomezz Scout looking good, may see you in Clumber some time.
  2. I am on my 2nd Scout and loved them both but the MK 111 DSG is a different animal, fast and an air of quality over the MK 11. Folding mirrors, electric heated seats, Columbus sat nav all adding to the overall feel, 7000 miles on the clock, 54 mpg on motorway runs and an average of 47 mpg, so far no problems.
  3. I to have the same problem on motorway trips and the description others have given is spot on, in a straight line you are over compensating and I think this could be quite dangerous if your concentration is diverted for some reason. As any one come up with a solution for this problem. I have Continentals on my Scout.
  4. Hi Herschell I love my 180 Scout, coming from a 2010 Scout almost 5 years have past and the improvements are considerable comfort, cabin space, a feel of better quality materials inside and out, quieter and faster of course the DSG my first, is an amazing gear box so versatile and fun to drive I use all options from time to time, off road on fishing trips and so far no problems with very muddy tracks and more recent snow. still got a gripe about lac off blind spot facility on drivers door mirror and I only use stop start at traffic lights .I have 3000 miles on the clock now and I would recommend this car to any one who wants this kind of 4x4 capability .
  5. Hi Gomezz. Scout Talk. Pleased you like the Fire Engine, just completed 2700 miles now and just gets better, a resent 400 mile trip mainly motorway 52 mpg.
  6. My 2015 Scout is eight weeks old now and love it no problems, until last week, a pungent smell after the car had been left overnight, driving the car the smell soon dissipated. The next morning the smell was back - after intensive sniffing, it's hard to describe a smell but the one that comes to mind is cauliflower. After a good look round I found nothing. I took the boot liner out and the bottom mat and put them in the garage to isolate them - I found that the problem was the mat - it was clean and dry but that was the smell. What's weird is that the smell came from nowhere - one day nothing - next day Poo!. I wonder if it could be the glue they use on the back during manufacture. If anyone else has had this problem - please let me know. Thanks
  7. I've just come from mk11 manual Scout to mk111 DSG and love it ,the thing is its much more than a straight auto with lots of variations on how you drive. Still not 100% on the stop/start yet and using it mainly at traffic lights. A lot of info on the Internet on how to get the best out of the DSG box and it all makes sense now and i make all sorts excuses just to drive.
  8. Hi Gomezz Hope to see you in the area when you get your new Scout. Wow what power ( What colour have you ordered ?
  9. My Scout took just over eight weeks from ordering with quite a few extras.
  10. 1,000 Smile Miles so far. The mk 3 Scout feels a better car than my Mk 2 - and that was very good. I love the D.S.G. and in my ignorance did not realise how versatile this box of tricks was. The car inside and out feels and looks well put together. More passenger room and very comfortable. The lane assist works okay ( not spec'd) . Not tried the park assist yet. I would be interested in your comments on - stop/start - it works exactly as it should, but I'm concerned that stop/starting a cold diesel engine is not good - especially with DPF? Yes you can turn it off if you can remember every time you turn on the ignition. The seats look great now but will the Alcantara wear well? The 1,000 miles covered have been very varied - about 350 motorway - 4 fishing trips - green lanes with muddy tracks and the rest just general runarounds. On 1 motorway run 200 mile round trip it returned 54MPG on the computer, about 4 MPG more than my mk 2 diesel. On a 20 mile run on A & B roads at a steady 30/60mpg again 53 MPG. I have waited a long time for this car to get to market and if you are considering a Scout - you won't be disappointed. Skoda.doc Skoda.doc
