Engine has been replaced, so the sticker and the documents are not valid. I need to physicaly check engine code on the engine. I have checked with VagCom and I get reading that the engine is BGU, but the control unit for engine according to ETKA is for BSE motor. So physical check would solve the puzzle. Also I would like to know if engine head is the same. Because on the engine head there are some data.

What are the differences betwen 1.6MPI BSE and BGU engines that were used in Octavia II. According to data BGU was used from April 2004 to April 2005 and it was the replaced with BSE. But what are the differences between these two engines? Is cylinder head the same? Also I would like to know, where on the engine is located engine code so how can I check which engine do I have in my Octavia?
