  1. Mk1 fabia vrs handed down to the wife, now proud owner of a blue 2013 fabia vrs, only 11k
  2. Yeah wheels are standard, Was running on bp ultimate diesel. I did exactly the same run again running on tesco diesel and computer said 85mpg. (Roads were quiet in evening and 90% motorway) Computer is probably out quite a bit as said and maybe there was a tail wind lol. Would the fuel really help by 10%? If so Im using it all the time! Havnt got patience to drive at 56 mph for a whole tank and work it out properly tho. New to Fabia's, Amazing machine.
  3. That was average over 100 miles That was average over about 100 miles. 100 very long miles lol
  4. Yeah its 2007 so must be that engine. I had a feeling it would be out but still, even if i was doing 60mpg its still good for the lump under the bonnet. I would try to calculate but I couldnt drive like that every day (or any other day) lol
  5. Recently aquired my first Fabia VRS and as you do been putting it through its paces. Thought id find out just how many mpg i could squeeze out of it, so driving from bromsgrove to gloucester with bp's finest in I sat just below 60 all the way and was gobsmacked with the figures! Crept up to just over 100mpg before the last couple of miles through town. Im expecting the computer to be a bit out, but hey, it makes my last car (focus 1.6tdci eco bubble) look thursty! And this is possible from a car mapped to 170bhp?!?! wow
  6. Hi, Im Andy from Gloucester. I used to have a octavia mk1 Vrs and loved it. Was doing increased miles and also found out after a year it has been clocked (160k in total but still running like a dream!) so decided to sell and bought a mk2 focus 1.6tdci. What a mistake! Hated every minute. Rattled like hell and needed a dpf, power steering pump and turbo within 6 months! After 9 months couldnt stand it any more and just p/x'ed it in for a nice little black 2007 fabia vrs. Had it a couple of weeks and LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT! Even better than the focus on fuel, solid with no rattles and silky smooth gearbox. And due to the previous owner kindly taking it to jabbasport, goes like hell So, happy to be back in skodaland!
  7. errrrm god didn't realise tha,t that is reasonable <feels a bit stupid now lol> ,thanks for the advice!
  8. Hi all, I was in Tesco today and noticed the have Castrol Magnatec 5-30 fully synthetic half price at £9 for 2 litres... I have the Mk1 Octavia vrs 2003 with 90k on the clock and have always stuck Mobil1 fully synthetic in. However, with this oil being nearly £50 a tub and the car getting older it aint the cheapest. I have always changed the oil within 10k (want to protect that turbo lol) but would it really hurt if I switched to this Castrol it seems a bit of a bargain to me... advice cheers!
