Low spec level vrs? Value
hannakournikova replied to hannakournikova's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Cheers guys this has been a valuable insight. Maybe not such a great deal after all... -
Guys quick quick question. I have been offered a 2006 tfsi estate. It's got high miles at 130k and spec seems lower than my old ambiente. No rear electric windows, no armrest, 17" alloys, etc Is this spec level normal? Car has full service history with belt done at least service and is on good condition with one owner from new. What would you guys value it at?

Sorry for a thread revival - but can we confirm that these door strips can be removed with use of a heat gun and are not clipped on??

Interesting story... advice needed!
hannakournikova replied to Sken_80's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Take the 1k and drive away at it. Im in a similar position. Ex police 2.0 BKD octavia estate. Cost a lot less than comparable models and money saved incase something goes wrong. You might find that the stamps were done by the service dept within the police? mine came with 100k miles, unused spare key, new car smell and a noisey turbo and not 1 entry into the service book as the PSNI have their own fleet records (none of which are available to the public) -
I noticed that the front passenger caliper was sticking. Pulled the piston boot back and it quite rusted. So i think i might just replace with a second hand caliper and bleed the whole system. Are there any other VAG that cars that share the sme calipers? Its a 2005 mk2 Ambiente Est pd140 8v 6spd.

Flashing handbrake light puzzle
hannakournikova replied to gavinallday's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
I had the same problem. There was a break in the small yellow brown wire that runs beside the handbrake and gear stick. Hope this helps -
Guys bare with me here. i have tried searching but nothing has come up. I have a 2005 Octavia estate that has damaged bumpers front and rear. I thought i would upgrade them but a chap on another forum has told me that they may use a different bumper mount to the non VRS models. anyone shed some light. Cheers chris

drivers window regulator
hannakournikova replied to hannakournikova's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk I (1996-2004)
So stripped the door today after fitting a black floor carpet. The wire has just mangled it's self with only 1 broken clip. Have removed it all and propped the window up with 2 bits of wood in the meantime. Handy enough job fitting one of those eBay kits? -
Had a quick search and seems like GFs driver window regulator is kaput! she lowered her window today and it thought she broke the glass due to the cracking sound. She came home and i had a look. seems like the clips have come away from the glass. What are the chances it was just the clips, or would the crunching sound be the wires getting chewed? I couldnt find any guides on here (searched for regulator guide how to etc) anyone help??
