I've had my Octavia now since new in May 2017 and this is something that I too have noticed. My problem is that I unlock the car and open the door in the morning - No interior light. I insert the key and ONLY THEN the interior light illuminates before the usual gradual fading away over time or when car is started. ???? I've always thought this a bit stupid and reading this post has now got me thinking that this is not normal after all. I take it that I've been living with a problem all along and not, as I thought that, Skoda had changed this for the twin light edition. Does it need mentioned to the dealer before the 3 years are up?

Yes the DRL does double as an indicator strip but when the indicator for one side is activated the respective DRL automatically switches off so there is no white-orange-white-orange it is orange-off-orange-off if that makes sense. Once the indicator is cancelled the DRL comes back on.

Could this be the sound generator box under the front scuttle? Other threads on here have spoken of it only being secured at the top (or bottom can't remember which) and it being 'secured' with a piece of microfibre cloth???. Can't find the thread just now but it was all about turning the sound generator off etc.

Now, now, everyone. I get the feeling many are showing a lack of respect for the OP's problem. Has anyone thought that he just may be exceedingly tall and has had to do what I have? My wife is 11' 6" and I am 12' 9". We both sit on the rear seats now as I have removed the front ones. I was going to sell them but I am thinking of reversing them and bolting them in the rear because my 2 year old daughter is now nearly 6 foot. (I really wish I had discovered this when I took a test drive before I parted with my cash!!!)

Evening gents, Can anyone, more technically proficient than thicko me here, shed any light here? Is the Skoda Connect app supposed to enable you to view anything other than 'time manager' and 'destinations'? (And at the moment even that seems a bit useless to be honest. By the time a destination loads from my phone when I get in the car, I could quite easily have loaded it into the sat-nav manually. But that's another story.) The Skoda advert shows some daft salesman flashing lights etc remotely. Am I missing something? Should i be able to check MPG etc? Is there something else I need to download/set-up? So far I've downloaded and set up both MySkoda and Skoda connect. They both seemed to load up fine on the system. Apologies, I've got the Columbus system and iphone. I've tried the hardwire USB connection method, personal hotspot method, bluetooth method and combinations thereof but is the only benefit this time manager/updated traffic conditions thingy? Any help would be gratefully received :-)
