  1. Hi, expect it'll be OK, plus 1 of the things they'd have checked, if I understand it correctly, this will be something more complex IMHO.
  2. Hi, some advice please. Got an Octavia II vRS which has lived with this issue (I say this P0172 issue, as it performed the same way, and had the same dashboard codes from the start) for some time now, gave-up with All Electrical Garages service department after it coming back the same every-time they had a look, and took it to Central Audi VW Specialists, read further; First visit - EML Warning Light plus Emissions Warning Light. Intermittent; unstable idle, and bad response to acceleration, mostly on the top-end. Found 2 relevant faults in engine ECU. 1 relating to fuel Trim system too rich static DTC, plus camshaft POS sensor DTC intermittent. No applicable Skoda TPI found. Entry in fault memory. P0343: Camshaft Pos. Sensor Circ. High Input Intermittent. P0341: Camshaft Pos. Sensor Circ. Range/Performance Intermittent. P0172: Fuel Trim, Bank 1 System Too Rich Intermittent. P0172: Fuel Trim, Bank 1 System Too Rich Static. Work: Burnt spark-plugs - Replaced. Cylinder head leakage test, passed. Wiring to camshaft sensor, passed. Replaced camshaft sensor. Lambda sensor burnt element – Replaced sensor. Advice - If error/s persists, possible damage to catalyst. Second visit - Emissions Warning Light. Intermittent; unstable idle, and bad response to acceleration, mostly on the top-end. Found various faults in memory, 1 static and 4 intermittent, no Skoda TPI's. Air leak fault. Entry in fault memory. P0343: Camshaft Pos. Sensor Circ. High Input Intermittent. P0341: Camshaft Pos. Sensor Circ. Range/Performance Intermittent. P0172: Fuel Trim, Bank 1 System Too Rich Intermittent. P0172: Fuel Trim, Bank 1 System Too Rich Intermittent. P2229: Intake Air System Leak static. Work: No visual, external air leaks in engine bay, tested for pressure intake, boost system, and vacuum system. Found PCV valve one way sticking – Replaced valve. Advice - If error/s persists, possible damage to catalyst. Third visit - Emissions Warning Light. Intermittent; unstable idle, and bad response to acceleration, mostly on the top-end. Entry in fault memory. P0172: Fuel Trim, Bank 1 System Too Rich Intermittent. P0172: Fuel Trim, Bank 1 System Too Rich Static. Advice – strip, inspect and replace injectors if found bad. No re-mention of it being the catalyst at this point, asked to complete service, which was due, and I’d get back to them on work. Decided to look for advice before throwing another £K plus at this issue, easily well over £1K now, what are your thoughts please, am I on the right route? Thanks.
