  1. Hi, Mine too also had the same problem and was repaired 2 weeks ago under warranty as the car is not even 12 months old. Regards, Mike

    Water Leak

Thanks for all the responses, good idea regarding the dehumidification/moisture absorbing bags, I didn't think of that, I'm going to get a couple this afternoon. I'll be driving with the air-con on (it's set to automatic anyway) to 'dehumidify' but with recirc. off as at this time of year the 'moisture content' of the outside air is low, another words very dry and this will assist in drying out the vehicle. Kind regards, Mike

    Water Leak

Hi, Just to add to anyone who is interested; I thought it was just a matter of drying out my mats after the leaking sunroof episode, but have only discovered today (As first weekend to check) that the carpet under the mats is soaked through on the passenger side & the rear nearside too. The water seems to be trapped in 'indents' in the car's bodywork in the foot-wells and I had to press a sponge on the carpets to soak up the water - I think I've mopped most of it up (after an hour) but it will take longer to dry out though. Just hope I don't have a reoccurrence and is probably the reason why I still have excessive condensation (water dripping on windscreen) inside the vehicle during cold periods. Many thanks, Mike

    Water Leak

Thanks for the feedback regarding the headlight washers, thinking about it now it was in the summer when I tested the washers and that's when the lights wouldn't be on anyway. It's only now when in use more, dark mornings & nights with dirty roads I have noticed.

    Water Leak

Dear All, Just to update you on my recent water leak, Lookers in Stockport said they were aware of this as a known issue (as others have posted) which was due to the drainage blockage from the sunroof and was quickly fixed within the day. Just have the floor mat to dry out now. Whilst it was in they also fixed my glove box that did not shut as the push button did not retract back and also my key fob blade that did not spring open when the button was pushed, all covered by warranty as the car is 9 months old. The only thing they did not remedy as they were unsure if it was an actual fault was my headlight washers which I thought operated after every 5 depresses irrespective of whether the ignition is on/off - mine seems to reset when the engine switches off, so the first push after every engine start washes the headlights, I'm sure but not certain that it didn't do this previously - is this normal? Kind regards, Mike

    Water Leak

Hi, I too discovered a water leak, but on the passenger side and come to think of it just before Christmas I had condensation on the windscreen which I do not normally have. Mine goes into Lookers Stockport this Monday to resolve. I've attached a photo which actually shows a drip if you look closely. I did have the sunroof 're-set' this Autumn as it was found not to have been installed correctly, wonder if this is related! I will let you know the outcome. Thanks, Mike
  7. Hi All, Sorry for not updating this topic earlier as the problem was only resolved last week - hopefully. It took Lookers (Local Skoda dealers) 4 attempts though to discover the sunroof was not set correctly in it's housing. I'm unsure if any long term damage has been caused to the seals or sunroof but as I have 5 year warranty trust this won't be an issue. I hope mine is a 'one off' but Lookers did suggest (On 3rd visit) that there has been something called a TPI, a trigger I believe when a certain number of vehicles have reported a similar fault which called for lubrication to the seals etc., but this was not successful in my case. Apart from this, car's is going fine with over 10,000 miles on the clock now. (3,500 completed though on 2 week trip to see family in Sicily!) Many thanks, Mike
  8. Hi, Many thanks for the responses, I was unaware of all the different settings the 'auto' lights play a part in. I will be able to test the 'auto' lights as I am due to travel down to Sicily through many tunnels and if they stay on in excess of 10mins in the sunshine I will be going back to the dealer to resolve (when back in UK). In the meantime if they stay on I have been switching them out of the auto position. Kind regards, Mike
  9. Hi, I drive with the lights in the 'auto' position (and Daylight Running Lights), and have noticed that when I drive through a tunnel or very shady tree's that the main lights come on, which is all fine but how long should they stay illuminated afterwards? Sometimes it's been brillant sunshine and they stay on for maybe 5-10 mins othertimes it's about 5 secs. Is this normal? Many thanks, Mike
  10. Hi All, Just to let you all know the outcome of my creaky roof I had a few weeks ago. With all this glorious weather were having I've been driving with the sunroof open in some fashion nearly everyday, however on the morning it was due in at Lookers, Stockport this week I had it shut and to my astonishment there was no creak, not even a peep. I explained this to the service people and asked them to examine it anyway and in any event (after a reading a number of replies here) asked them to ensure they applied sufficient lubrication to the mechanism's etc. After 2 days, Lookers advised they could find nothing wrong and have lubricated the joints/seals etc. Now the car's back I've tested the AC with the sunroof closed and still no noise, fingers crossed it's gone for good. I wanted to make sure everything was ok for our road trip to visit relatives in Sicily (2000 miles one-way) but thinking about it I'll hopefully be driving around with the sunroof open so it shouldn't be an issue anyway! Many Thanks, Mike
  11. Hi, Just to let anyone know who was following this topic on the outcome, that you will have to wait till at least 15th July. They said it wasn't straight forward and would have to remove the roof liners etc. and it could take up to 2 days work and as they only work half day Saturday they didn't want me riding around in a Fabia all weekend! I think it's an excuse really and they were busy, but I did get a free bottle of washer wiper fluid and next time I don't have to bother setting up my own insurance for the courtesy car and will use theirs for free. Will update this post in a few weeks. Many thanks, Mike
  12. The noise/creak is almost all the time, it was dry at the time of the recording as it could be mistaken for heavy rain... Everything was fine until about 2 weeks ago but it seems to be getting worse now. I have opened and closed the sunroof to temporarily remove the noise but I'm leaving it closed now to ensure the dealer can witness it. I've had the radio on louder than normal to distract me from it. I'm hoping everything will be resolved so not worrying too much. Thanks, Mike
  13. Dear All, Thanks for all your comments, I now have a better insight into the issue and trust the dealer, Looker's will know what to search for this Friday. I will keep you all updated on what they discover. In the meantime, I know it's a little sad but I've attached an MP3 recording of the noise made (Not in very good quality I'm afraid) captured via a smart phone held quite close to the sunroof, in closed position when travelling about 30mph. Enjoy. Thanks, Mike Yeti L & K Sunroof Creaking.mp3
  14. Hi All, My new L & K Yeti has developed a creaking sound coming from the sunroof when in the closed position. I've had the car since April and it's only started to make this noise for the last couple of weeks. I'm not talking an odd creak now and again, it's almost constant when above 30 mph on A/B roads. I've tried opening then closing the sunroof and the noise disappears but then returns shortly afterwards! I've booked it in at 'Lookers' in Stockport this Friday so hopefully it should be all sorted then, just wondered if anyone has experienced any 'creaking' too from their sunroof's? Many thanks, Mike
  15. I too have the L & K and normally listen to DAB on my daily commute between New Mills & Macclesfield (Derbyshire/Cheshire Border) and have noticed just a few dead spots (only a matter of seconds) and the radio automatically switches to the FM version of the same station and defaults back to DAB when the signal is returned. One thing I have noticed is that sometimes when the car is started, the columbas can take upto a minute to start and displays ' System Starting' with the buttons being unoperable during this time, I don't know if this is because I have an 32GB SD card in, or is this normal?
